Sometimes I can be really helpful... and even be polite while doing it. :-D Almost sappy in my level of politeyness. And I haven't had any caffeine (or Kahlúa) yet today. About to remedy that though.... the caffeine that is. (the Kahlua will come later on tonight) OH WAIT!.. its Wednesday... that means its Jägermeister day!... wippee!! Nothing like a Jaggy n Red Bull at the end of the work day to completely wire your brain! The Real Libs-speak politely 13:12, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

No problem. There is something deeply wrong with continuing to press an issue after an unconditional apology. That need to be "more right" is unconscionable. --King Öomie 19:17, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
No kidding, mistakes=humanity no need for him to push it.--SKATER Speak. 19:22, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Ugh
FYI- unconditional apologies don't contain the word "however" since that's applying conditions...hence making them conditional apologies. For example, saying "Sorry I murdered your family with an axe, however they were being a little rude." would not qualify as an "unconditional apology". Saying "Sorry I murdered your family with an axe." would. You just got learned! --208.38.59.163 (talk) 16:14, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
And Cease and Desist doesn't mean "continue to mince words until you're satisfied"- hence "That need to be "more right" is unconscionable". Don't post here again unless you have actual business. --King Öomie 16:44, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

The birther stuff.

As much as I agree that it's silly... who's to say what's untrue or true? I don't think that any one editor, such as yourself, can make that call. I wasn't keeping up on the discussion page there, but just from the last addition to it, I didn't see anything worthy of being considered "nonsense". Gpia7r (talk) 13:00, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

His comment was off-topic (and untrue). The discussion was about Limbaugh's position in/out of the Birther camp; that user posted to say the birthers were correct. His comments are backed by about as much evidence as "Hitler is alive and living in Guam!". --King Öomie 13:18, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

I found this post...

Funny I already know that my behaviour is appropriate. Counting my 'libs' account.. all my anon IP years... and my original (now deleted) account from 2004-2005... my behaviour has earned me 27 barnstars and at least 16 requests to let my name stand for RfA. Can't get any more appropriate then that. I would send thank-yous for the vote of approval as given in that post. But my thank you would probably be misinterpreted as a PA. But the thank you would still be sincere. My behaviour has been been appropriate for almost 6 years and almost 70000 edits. Phew... where did the time go. besides into my grey temples and increasing crows-feet And also... The Real Libs-speak politely 17:00, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

I'm like 95% sure he meant "inappropriate". --King Öomie 18:56, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Not likely. That would be a violation of WP:NPA. It doesn't matter what he meant... what he ended up saying was 100% accurate. The Real Libs-speak politely 00:21, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Help

{{helpme}}

Hmm. What markup is required to force the title text in the barnstars/awards on my userpage to wrap, rather than squeezing out below my userboxes in a thin browser window? --King Öomie 19:10, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean - I just looked at your user page with both firefox and internet explorer, and it seems fine. If I make the window narrow, the barnstar width shrinks down, and it all sorts itself out. Is it all OK now? Or...can you describe the problem a bit more?  Chzz  ►  19:21, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Hmm. Under Firefox, when I reduce the width of the browser window past a certain point, the barnstars begin jumping to the bottom of the page, below the userbox container. --King Öomie 19:34, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Yes, that is understandable. The Userbox container is a div box, aligning itself right. If you reduce the browser window too much for the barnstars to fit there, they will make way for the userboxes because they are first in the wikitext. You can use a table to force them to stay above. See the example code below.

Sumbuddi (talk · contribs) seems to be taking advantage of the sock investigation to carry out some vendetta due to him being disgruntled against Libs. Why? I know Luminifer was mad that his spam article was deleted. Triplestop x3 21:31, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

I actually wasn't mad about that - I've had plenty of articles deleted, and had plenty more that are still around. What did bother me (and mad is not the correct word to use - more like scared) was that Libs repeatedly (and now, that we know more, using sockpuppets when asked to desist) tried to OUT me as a member of the band in question. I had wondered why libs was targetting me specifically - now that I know about all the socks, it could easily be because of the first WQA I filed against Peter Fleet. I couldn't say why Sumbuddi is disgruntled, other than the fact that it's not an uncommon reaction being pressursed into 3rrs by sockpuppets. Luminifer (talk) 21:41, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
Not that it excuses Wiki Lib's conduct, but are you sure you didn't try to cover up your COI because you knew it would affect the retention of your page? That is the way it seems to me right now. Triplestop x3 21:55, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
I don't think I should even answer that question, as answering it either way would be outing myself... and that's the point. There are proper avenues to pursue to deal with COI, and attempting to out an editor is not one of them. Additionally, COI should not - and does not - enter into deletion debates. They are judged purely on the merits of the arguments made - it's not like, were I member of a band, I would be able to make a better argument, and then, if it were discovered that I were a member, my argument falls apart. The arguments are purely merit based. COI, in fact, deals with article content, not deletion discussions. Further, if you'd read the deletion discussion, you would know that the way Libs described it is far from how it was... but really, I don't want to discuss this anymore, there isn't much point. Luminifer (talk) 22:48, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
Good. I don't want to SEE that garbage about you being worried, distressed, etc about a post YOU MADE to YOUR USERPAGE being pointed to- and ESPECIALLY not on my own talkpage. It's crap. --King Öomie 00:57, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
The thing that gets me is that Luminifer was alerted BEFORE LIBS, way to bring in the cavalry there. It's definatly a COI.--SKATER Speak. 03:09, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Consider this: Luminifer was polite and respectful to me, whereas Libs is consistently rude to people he disagrees with. He also wasted large amounts of my time with sockpuppetry in an RFC, accused me of vandalism by using multiple anonymous identities and maliciously and anonymously started a revert war against me on a completely inconsequential page that he had no prior involvement with. I on the other hand followed the SPI rules, which do NOT require notification of the puppetmaster. Also Luminifer made a useful contribution to the SPI by pointing out additional socks that I hadn't noticed. So yes, notifying Luminifer was positive for Wikipedia. Sumbuddi (talk) 12:59, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
This argument isn't going to take place here. Luminifer has been consistently disingenuous with me, whether it be whilst trying to save an article or trying to have Libs punished. How's the retirement, by the way? --King Öomie 13:02, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Um, actually this argument did take place here - someone came on here questioning *my* motives. Not Luminifer's motives - someone with whom, as I say, have had no contact apart from him helping out with the SPI. And not the motives of the editor who abused Wikipedia for years with multiple identities. In case you hadn't noticed, the title of this section is Sumbuddi. Which explains why I'm here. How Pavlovian. If you name it, they will come. How about now? --King Öomie 13:21, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

VPR

Just so you know, I replied to your comment at VPR about the Welcomecreation notice. I do think this is a small change which would be slightly helpful, with no downside; but curiously, nobody else seems to care, or think the small benefit worth having... Rd232 talk 09:04, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Hot Space Talk Page

I was having a friendly debate between Wiki Libs (and his other accounts) on what genre Queen's Hot Space album was. Since he's been blocked, could you debate with me on it?--Greg D. Barnes (talk) 18:33, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

I'm more of a Behemoth/Gorgoroth kind of guy, actually :P But I'll see if I can't download it and give it a listen... --King Öomie 18:47, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Plus, Hot Space was released six years before I was born =D --King Öomie 18:48, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Funk rock. Or disco. Or new wave. Or dance-pop. Sumbuddi (talk)
I was going to put "dance" and "funk" in the genres with a source--Greg D. Barnes (talk) 21:44, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
I just edited the Hot Space article. Could you check my work?--Greg D. Barnes (talk) 22:26, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
NO GENRE CHANGES WITHOUT SOURCES. DEAR LORD. --King Öomie 22:52, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

User:70.150.94.194

Hi Kingoomieiii. IP editor 70.150.94.194 is badgering me about my decline of their speedy deletion tag on Category:Museums established in 1840. When User:Jpbowen created Category:Museums established in 1840, they noted that the page should be kept, despite the fact that it is empty (see here). This is perfectly valid and I see no reason to delete the page. However, this obviously doesn't sit well with 70.150.94.194. They're being rude and obnoxious and threatening forum shopping. I find it sad that many people don't understand that if they want others to help them, they need to be courteous and friendly and stop acting like everyone owes them something. Frankly, I don't want to continue this conversation with 70.150.94.194 anymore. If it's not too much trouble, I'd appreciate your input. Thanks, FASTILY (TALK) 00:31, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Technically, an author note doesn't exempt a page from the speedy guidelines. Ask Jpbowen to weigh in- perhaps he has another solution. If the category is empty, it's empty- we can't exactly go back in time and establish a museum in 1840. --King Öomie 02:08, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
