Fair use rationale for File:Daily thanthi logo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Daily thanthi logo.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:54, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

reply[edit]

During the late 19th century, all the nadars ,including the nelammaikarars, claimed that they were kshatriyas and also tried to change their caste titles. But frankly speaking kshatriya is a north indian caste.. They wear the sacred thread and are strictly vegetarians just like the Brahmins. The Nadars, however, are Dravidians and all the Dravidian classes(like maravars&vellalars) were considered as Sudras. Even the Pandyan kings were not considered as kshatriyas! Lets not get carried away. Remember. This is wikipedia. It is owned and produced by the common people.Anyone can edit here. So the nadar article must be precise n without holes. Or else the article wont last very long here. I ll complete it by next week. I require some photos. I am a Nelamaikkarar myself. Is it possible for you get some photos? I mean these photos must be owned by u.don get it from a internet siteMayan302 (talk) 02:43, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Better do somethin abt the sp adithanar pic.u didnt provide any details.the pic u uploaded ll be deletedMayan302 (talk) 03:12, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In addition, taking a picture or scan of a pre-existing image doesnt make one the owner. The owner is still the person who took the original picture. --CarTick (talk) 14:15, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please be specific on how you became the copyright holder of these images? Did you take the photographs yourself? On what occasions? --Muhandes (talk) 15:34, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. —SpacemanSpiff 11:13, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thumbnails[edit]

If, as you claim, file:R Danushkodi Adithan.JPG and other images are yours, then you will easily be able to upload larger versions. It is an insult to WIkipedia to just upload thumbnails. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:24, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Thanthi group has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Muhandes (talk) 12:59, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hang on a moment...[edit]

Hi. You're creating the same basic content under several different titles; this is going to create a problem for other editors. I should also point out that I could find no evidence of your ever having responded to other editors' concerns over your content. Please note that this is a collaborative effort and that your contributions should be formatted to meet this site's standards. If English is not your primary language, please consider contributing to a Wikipedia project in your native tongue. Thank you. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:56, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Scratch that: Every one of those new articles you posted are copyright violations. You've been warned about that before. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:59, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:Thanthi group[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:Thanthi group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. Muhandes (talk) 18:11, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on S. Balasubramania Adithan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Muhandes (talk) 07:43, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note that I withdrew my deletion nomination to allow you to populate the articles, but so far all I see are stub articles, most of which are in deletion processes due to some reasons. Are you planning to write reasonable articles about these subjects? --Muhandes (talk) 08:07, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Yes I have plan to rewrite those articles again, i will put all my care in future and not to repeat old mistakes. Kindly help me in this regard. Thank you--Mahizhini1977 (talk) 21:02, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have rewritten Govindammal Aditanar College for Women and I will now take a dip at the rest, use them as template for future educational institute stubs you wish to write. This is just a very basic stub, mentioning nothing of history etc. Some guidelines you should read:
  • WP:LEAD - how the lead should look like, using bold etc.
  • WP:SEEALSO - the purpose of the "See also" section, and how to use it.
  • WP:V, WP:CITE - how to make a citation, and what to cite. Hint - every fact needs a source.
  • WP:CREDENTIAL - about mentioning someone's academic title (Dr., etc.)

--Muhandes (talk) 13:00, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you thank you very much--Mahizhini1977 (talk) 06:28, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please remove the following columns — runner-up, party and margin — from the List of members table in Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. Thanks. --CarTick (talk) 12:13, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi cartick, I feel that runner up details is also a fact to be establsed. I believe you will also agree with it. Please clarify me in this regard, which could help me in future works. Thankyou.--Mahizhini1977 (talk) 12:25, 16 May 2011 (UTC) Sure i missunderstood the title i agree with you--Mahizhini1977 (talk) 12:29, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tamil Nadu legislative assembly election, 2011 article contains that information, rightfully. however — in legislative assembly article — we just need information about the current members; the person they defeated and the vote margin are irrelevant. --CarTick (talk) 12:40, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Aladi Sankaraiya has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
