Happy New Year Mudwater!

@Northamerica1000: Thanks. You too! Mudwater (Talk) 11:41, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

"The"

Bullshit. You'll have heaps of work to do. AlterBerg (talk) 15:30, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

@AlterBerg: I think you'll find that that's the style generally used on Wikipedia, for the Grateful Dead, and also for a bunch of other bands that are commonly referred to with "the" but don't have the word as part of their official name. For example, take a look at the Eagles (band) article. I don't go out looking for these, but I change them if I notice them. (The Tom Constanten article is on my watch list, as are most articles related to the Grateful Dead.) Mudwater (Talk) 01:03, 10 January 2015 (UTC)

Gun laws in Maryland

Being that you're the main contributor to Gun laws in Maryland, I have a question. I was under the impression that open-carrying of long guns was de legis legal per an admission by the Attorney General of Maryland (http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/agopinions/MDAG%20ResponseToLongGunCarry.pdf). State delegate Michael D. Smigiel, Sr. made a dramatized video regarding the risks of open-carrying in Maryland due to ignorance of the law (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKtkefEcDQY). He played this video in the state legislature to raise awareness of the consequences of the laws (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HR541Ea9n70). I wanted to get your input on the matter since these laws post-Heller are tricky to unravel and subject to constant judicial changes. Should the Maryland gun laws article be amended? -- Veggies (talk) 13:13, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

@Veggies: Thanks for the note. Although I have contributed some edits to that article, I'm not really the main contributor, and I mostly haven't been keeping up with the current laws. But I think you're bringing up some good points. I suggest that you add a similar post to the talk page of the article. I also suggest that you edit the article as you think best, perhaps after waiting a week or two to see what feedback you get on the talk page. Mudwater (Talk) 13:28, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
I will do so. Thanks. -- Veggies (talk) 13:37, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

GSL

I've reverted the title of the "Simple question for Darknipples, since it insists on the existence of the "Gunshow Loophole"" section back to it's original form. Darknipples (talk) 01:40, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

@Darknipples: Yes, and that seems reasonable to me. It's somewhat less descriptive, but on the plus side it preserves the original words of the poster. Thanks for the heads up. Mudwater (Talk) 01:52, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

Just a heads up, I have given my response to your reply. Think we can address your issues in regard to POV, in a more precise manner. Cheers and thank you. Darknipples (talk) 21:36, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Arbitration enforcement discussion

I am requesting action at WP:AE regarding a section at Talk:Gun show loophole which you edited. Johnuniq (talk) 06:25, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

Discretionary sanctions notification - Gun control

Please carefully read this information:

The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding governmental regulation of firearm ownership; the social, historical and political context of such regulation; and the people and organizations associated with these issues, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.

Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

This message is informational only and does not imply misconduct regarding your contributions to date.

Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 06:53, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

Hello. Thanks for the heads up. Are there any particular edits or behaviors of mine that have given you cause for concern? I suppose there's a reason that you have notified me, and it would help me out if you would let me know what that is. Mudwater (Talk) 11:33, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Nothing in particular, when reports are made to WP:AE I tend to go through the recent history and check if the major editors are 'aware' that discretionary sanctions are in operation. So it was just informational. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 11:46, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for explaining. In general I'm open to feedback, so feel free to post back here on my talk page if you have any. Mudwater (Talk) 11:51, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

More Timeline color discussion

Hey there. I know when this came up on Project Rock music, you were pretty reasonable, so would you like to weigh in here Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Musicians#RfC: Consensus on band timeline colour schemes The same user is being very stubborn about his change, but is at least being better at bringing it up there. Here Comes Sunshine (Fair use)
@Northamerica1000: The word on the street is that one or more of the shows will be simulcast somehow. I guess there's no deal yet, but a theatrical simulcast is being discussed, as well as other options like pay-per-view TV. I'm also wondering if they'll release some of the music later on CD. Mudwater (Talk) 23:26, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the info, none of which I was aware of. I'm hoping they do something along the lines of View from the Vault, since I won't be able to be at the shows. NORTH AMERICA1000 00:29, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

Comps

I see the Dark Star LP has been added but the Twilight Zone LP is still missing.

Was going to start adding the source info for Weir Here but balked at figuring out the best re-format. Tangverse (talk) 11:27, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

@Tangverse: I get what you mean but I really think that section is better in its current form of just listing principal recording dates of Grateful Dead albums -- the albums actually listed elsewhere in the Discography article -- as opposed to a complete catalog of every live GD track that's been commercially released. As the note at the top of the section says, the current list doesn't even include bonus tracks or bonus discs from GD albums. That would just make things too messy and complicated, in my view. This way it's a straightforward, easy to read list of the same albums, but in recording date order. By the way, for a more or less complete list of everything in chronological order, check out "Grateful Dead Releases by Recording Date" at the Grateful Dead Family Discography (a.k.a. DeadDisc). Mudwater (Talk) 12:03, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks. That's the kind of list resource I was looking for.Tangverse (talk) 22:01, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

McGannahan Skjellyfetti

Edible jellyfish prepared with sesame oil and chili sauce

I need more time to consider matters on the GD article, and appreciate your input on my talk page. FWIW, info about Deafheads can definitely fit somewhere in the Deadhead article, which presently has no mention.

In entirely unrelated matters, seeking editors to assist in bringing the newly-created Jellyfish as food to at least WP:GA, and preferably WP:FA eventually.

Talk:Jerry Garcia#Ancestry

Hi Mudwater. Did not know that there had been a lengthy discussion. Thanks for the heads up. All the same, the construction of "Galician (Spanish)" is not correct, though it would be correct to say "Galician (Spain)", or — even better, to avoid any nationalistic issues — "Jerry Garcia's ancestors were from Galicia in north-western Spain on his father's side". That would resolve the issue. What do you think? Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 18:07, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

@Rui Gabriel Correia: Hello. Thanks for the note. Would you please post this or a similar comment at the bottom of the existing talk page section? It would be better to continue the conversation where other interested editors are more likely to see it. Mudwater (Talk) 18:17, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
