Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:-14500 Paleolitski crtezi - Badanj.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:-14500 Paleolitski crtezi - Badanj.jpg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:-14500 Paleolitski crtezi - Badanj.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 18:39, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:-14500 Badanj.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:-14500 Paleolitski crtezi - Badanj.jpg. The copy called Image:-14500 Paleolitski crtezi - Badanj.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 18:46, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:10. st., sv. Spas, Cetina.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:10. st., sv. Spas, Cetina.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:05, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Culture and Art of Croatia[edit]

Hi,

I noticed that you noticed that the art description in Culture of Croatia became too voluminous :) and created Art of Croatia instead.

It would be good if you redacted the text in the Culture article to be more concise, focus on the most important facts only, and have fewer subsections. For all the details, point users to the Art article.

Thanks. --Joy [shallot] 11:54, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:1855 Trakoscan.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:43, 17 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Liftarn 12:43, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Or in a less templated message, who took this image and when, or which book/website is it from? It's listed as Template:PD-old here, which I believe means the photographer should've died 100 years ago (as a tombstone is not a two-dimensional work), but Template:GFDL-user on commons, which said you took the photo. It may just be copyright template confusion, but knowing more about the photographer or source you acquired it from would help a lot. Gotyear (talk) 18:03, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Several freely licensed images[edit]

Hi, I see two problems with these image.

  1. They have a poor filename
  2. Their copyright information is inadequate and look more like derivative works of copyrighted work.

I thought you'd like to fix this. Images w/o proper copyright information can be deleted on sight. -- Cat chi? 21:59, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

I have closed these two PUI discussions as keep. However, it would be very helpful if you could follow the instructions at WP:CONSENT and e-mail a consent declaration to the OTRS system (e-mail address at the bottom of that linked page). This way we can have a record to verify that you are infact the artist behind these images. Thanks!-Andrew c [talk] 17:32, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Butmirska vaza.jpg needs authorship information.[edit]

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Butmirska vaza.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|Prof saxx}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.

Image descriptions/authorship[edit]

So that I don't fill up your talk page with boring boilerplate messages, it would be much appreciated if you could look over your uploads, and expand upon the information provided. Nearly all your images seem to be in scope for Wikimedia Commons ( a media repository and archive), and it would be nice to have additional information on the authorship (if known) of the works shown in your media file uploads, to enable better use of those images at Commons as well as other language Wikipedia.

I've been trying to add minimal {{information}} boxes based on the existing descriptions and image captioning in articles, but as you are the 'field expert' so to speak, your contribution to these boxes would be invaluable.

Thanks for taking the time to upload media, by the way :) Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:43, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

are missing a description and/or other details on their image description pages. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the images, and they will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the images may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

Better source request for File:Dioklecijanova palaca 300..jpg[edit]

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 21:00, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Euphrasiana apse.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. plicit 07:05, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
