Tsimmes photo[edit]

Thanks for taking an interest in my photo. Actually, I don't know how to move it to commons. You'll have to get help from someone else. Best, --Geewhiz (talk) 12:32, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moving belarusian clubs[edit]

Hi. Can you please explain your actions more detailed than just one word "Belarusian"?-NineInchRuiner (talk) 10:51, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I think it's rather clear description of what was changed. But I'll try expand it in similar future edits. --Renessaince (talk) 14:51, 1 October 2010 (EEST)
I made exactly opposite edits/moves about a year ago. I don't know if you know the situation in Belarus but I can assure you that about 3/4 of the country is Russian-speaking. Plus, non of the clubs have a website in Belarusian and none of the clubs use Belarusian spelling on their logos except for Vedrich-97 Retchytsa. --NineInchRuiner (talk) 12:11, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There's no need to tell me about the situation in Belarus' 'cause I live here. :)
And there's also no need to name articles about Belarusan football clubs in Russian. --Renessaince 15:41, 1 October 2010 (EEST)
So you basically will just ignore me. I think I'm gonna raise the question to other people from Wiki project football. --NineInchRuiner (talk) 13:03, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please let me know where and when You're going to raise your question. --Renessaince (talk) 08:21, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It turns out that I don't exactly need to. Please look here: Wikipedia:Naming conventions (sports), and note the following: In cases where there is some ambiguity as to the official spelling of a club's name in English, the name most commonly used by the English-language media should be used. Now try to google any names before and after your renaming. Here's just one example: BATE Borisov - 978,000 results; BATE Barysaw - 5,820 results; BATE Barysau - 7,160 results. Please respond. --NineInchRuiner (talk) 08:48, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I see. And I think most pages about BATE Borisov because Russian language is just more wide spread in the world. So that's just more commonly used variant in Russian-speaking communities, nothing more. Nevertheless, as soon as you have a convention about naming articles - well, I don't going to discuss those rules. --Renessaince (talk) 20:07, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:40, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Stub tags — please don't move to wrong place[edit]

Hi, in this edit you moved the {{painting-stub}} tag from the correct place (after everything except inter-wiki links) to a wrong place (before the categories). Please don't do this. See WP:FOOTERS. Thanks. PamD (talk) 22:30, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hm, never knew that, thanks. Hope my edit wasn't wrong enough. ;) --Renessaince (talk) 06:39, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Interfax is reporting that Galimov has died. The second reference I provided states this. Please don't remove it, unless you have a newer source that contradicts this. Shootmaster 44 (talk) 15:26, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My edit wasn't intended to remove yours one, but your contribution just got lost because of parallel edit. There were no need to revert my edit, because I intended to merge yours a moment later. --Renessaince (talk) 15:38, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Help with Belarusian spelling[edit]

Hi!

I'd be happy if you'd help to double-check the spelling in Names of Lithuanian places in other languages and Names of Belarusian places in other languages. I wrote both those articles, and they're kind of my "babies".

Thanks--Mikej007 (talk) 14:30, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. OK, I added some translations of Lithuanian places. Some are still not though, because of absence of the correspondent articles in Belarusan Wikipedia. Don't eager to translate literally, because there can be own name in Belarusan for Lithuanian toponym.
You should have been noticed Belarusan sometimes slightly differs from Russian, so I also corrected some spelling. :)
Eventually, you've made a good job with Lacinka variants. Don't go for it rather good myself, so be bold there. ;)

Pavel Bure and Minsk[edit]

Regarding your edits claiming that Pavel Bure was born in Minsk and not Moscow: First off, when I tried to access the site the other day it didn't work, thats why I wrote that I couldn't even see it. Secondly, there is overwhelming sources stating that he was born in Moscow, and this site is the first I've ever seen that has his birthplace listed as Minsk. Considering that for the past 25 years he has given Moscow as his birthplace, and that is what nearly every publication in that timeframe, except for this site, which as the official newspaper of the Belarusian government, is dubious at best. Provided you can find better information that confirms Bure was born in Minsk, more than just a brief newspaper article, it would be considered. But that have to counter 25 years worth of evidence to the contrary. Thanks. Kaiser matias (talk) 19:30, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have neither wish nor time to seek for more approvals, but maybe it would be useful at least to add information to article about that disambiguation about birthplace of Bure exists. --Renessaince (talk) 20:13, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That would probably work. Kaiser matias (talk) 00:36, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks![edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Apologies for reverted edit to Tesla Model S[edit]

Sorry, I misread what had changed and uncorrected what you were correcting. My apologies. SilverbackNet talk 15:32, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I tried my best to fix an article after other user's edits made earlier today. So it was weird enough to see my edit reverted after all. More to say, this was marked as "reverting vandalism" which doesn't sound like assume good faith, does it? But - the apologies were given so everything is settled now. --Renessaince (talk) 15:58, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
