Ways to improve Yogendra[edit]

Hi, I'm Cwmhiraeth. Vikrampasari, thanks for creating Yogendra!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please attend to the close paraphrasing in the "Early years" section.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:30, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, a belated thanks. I'm astonished we didn't have an article on the great man; I suspect there was one, but so poorly cited that it got deleted. Well done creating one with sufficient reliable sources. I've edited your mention of The Yoga Institute's centenary to fit in with the rest of the article. Chiswick Chap (talk) 16:50, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I appreciate your efforts. I am planning to create more such articles on Yoga Gurus. --Vikrampasari (talk) 17:12, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Vikrampasari! Your additions to Draft:Bhikkhu Sanghasena have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 17:40, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. I will ensure that I do not end up violating the copyright policies. Thank you for informing and correcting me. --Vikrampasari (talk) 13:26, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Venus Remedies moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Venus Remedies, does not conform to Wikipedia’s neutrality policies, and as such you should submit this article to be published through the Articles for Creation process. Before editing the article further, please first disclose on your user page and on the article's Talk page whether you have received money to write this or other articles on Wikipedia, or if you have any other kind of conflict of interest concerning the subject. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Before submitting, you should make sure that the article is fully compliant with Wikipedia’s neutrality and verifiability policies, as well as our notability guidelines. When you’re ready, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. This process is encouraged, but optional. If you choose not to participate in it, you can remove the AfC template and move the article back to mainspace. You should also consider reaching out to the Teahouse for additional feedback and aid from experienced editors. signed, Rosguill talk 19:40, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rosguill, thank you for your message. I am not financially benefitted for writing here. I contribute on Wikipedia according to my interest. Since, the page has been moved to draft, I will make necessary changes to meet the guidelines and submit the draft under article for creation process. I firmly believe that this topic is notable as per Wikipedia notability guidelines since it is a publicly traded organization and it has sufficient independent sources to meet notability. Thank you --Vikrampasari (talk) 07:23, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

August 2022[edit]

Information icon

Hello Vikrampasari. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Vikrampasari. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Vikrampasari|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. PICKLEDICAE🥒 16:06, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Praxidicae, thank you for the message and for explaining the guidelines. I am aware of the above mentioned Wikipedia's policies. I would like to inform you that I am not being compensated financially or any other medium (directly or indirectly) for contributing to Wikipedia. I do not intend to promote any subject or topic on Wikipedia. I make contribution based on my interest. Though I joined Wikipedia years back, but I am still learning and will keep improving based on the amount of time I devote to the platform. Thanks for your time and happy editing! --Vikrampasari (talk) 15:46, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gemini Edibles & Fats, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
