Firetrucks were on hand when the team landed a half-hour later, giving the planes and the pilots the customary hose-down for the last time. The United States Air Force's 102d Fighter Wing is a fighter aircraft unit located at Otis ANGB, Massachusetts.
The 102d Fighter Wing acts as the parent unit for the 253d Combat Communications Group, 267th Combat Communications Squadron, and the 202nd Weather Flight.
It is losing it's F-15C's to the 104th Fighter Wing at Barnes Municipal Airport and will be transitioning to an intelligence wing in 2008.
It is the 5th oldest air guard unit in the nation.[1]
History
