This page is for listing contributors who have verifiably placed copyrighted materials on Wikipedia without verification of permission when there is reason to check other contributions to see if other articles or media files constitute a concern. It is not for listing individual articles or tagging individual media files for evaluation; see Wikipedia:Copyright problems or Wikipedia:Guide to image deletion for that. All Wikipedia editors are encouraged to assist with the matters below. Some tips for doing so are found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Copyright Cleanup/How to clean copyright infringements. Please remember that our purpose here is to address a potentially serious legal concern for Wikipedia. This material must be cleaned, but it is not our purpose to harass individuals listed here for evaluation, though some may require administrator intervention to protect the project. Individuals should be courteously advised of copyright policies. If multiple articles are tagged for infringement, it is better to leave an individual note than fill the contributor's page with multiple, redundant template advisories. Contribution Surveyor tool for WindowsUser:Dcoetzee has put at the disposal of WikiProject Copyright Cleanup a "contribution surveyor" program for Windows that scans the history of an editor and clusters his or her contributions by article, putting these into a list prioritized by most significant contributions. Each list includes diffs which also indicate the size of the contributor's specific contribution. The program is available in zip form at http://moonflare.com/misc/ContributionSurveyor.zip Instructions are included in the zip file. If creating a subpage including the output of this program, it is advisable to subdivide into sections for easier management. Longer contribution histories may need multiple pages. A useful hierarchy for these pages is Wikipedia:WikiProject Copyright Cleanup/Username. These can be linked from this page for convenience. They are unlikely to be necessary for contributors with less extensive histories. If you create such a page, please include {{noindex}} at its top. Completed contribution checksSee Wikipedia:WikiProject Copyright Cleanup/Contributor surveys/Archive. Current contribution checksThis section is for listing contributors who require extensive evaluation because it is confirmed that they have placed copyrighted text on Wikipedia. If you simply have concerns about an editor, but no confirmation, please discuss your concerns either directly with the editor or bring them up at the project talk page.

Long-term project, not yet complete. Instructions at that subpage. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:40, 2 June 2009 (UTC) GrahamBould

Copyright infringement or GFDL infringement in many major contributions. Evaluation ongoing. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:38, 2 June 2009 (UTC) RcpatersonRetired good-faith contributor added material from his own publications which must now be removed, as he was not in position to release his publisher's copyright in material. Approach to this evolving at the military history project. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:16, 7 July 2009 (UTC) Paknur

Please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Opera/Subpage for organizing CopyVio Cleanup. We need help. Voceditenore (talk) 14:04, 25 September 2009 (UTC) Update: At the WikiProject Opera, we had made quite a lot of progress with going through and repairing the articles where we found copyvios, but we have now discovered that this user had a whole load of socks (blocked today):
I think we need Contributor surveys for them and this project's help with the mess. Voceditenore (talk) 18:35, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
Structured listing
I have not yet finished separating this (and will edit this when I have) but am currently thinking that we have no choice here but to indiscriminately remove all contributions by this editor given the provisions of WP:COPYVIO. I'll draft a templated notice. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 21:29, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

MddExtensive pastiche from various sources, including other Wikipedia articles. For one example, see Mathematical diagram. The contributor is working on cleanup himself. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:09, 11 October 2009 (UTC) Jeffman52001Not listing this at CCI since that page is not officially active and this contributor still is. The example case is indef-blocked. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:38, 27 October 2009 (UTC) Flaming FerrariSome image vios reported on talk page, but recent issue is textual infringement on ONDB. See a list of tagged articles at User:Ironholds/ff. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 02:09, 1 November 2009 (UTC) |
