Extreme gothic metal bands
These bands have mixed the traditional gothic metal base and songwriting with elements from black metal and death metal, such as the guitar work and the drumming. Nevertheless, the existence of this genre is somewhat debated as most of the bands' style is more often considered symphonic black metal or symphonic death metal.
