I invite you to carry on wasting time and encourage you in your happiness to proceed to more formal "dispute resolution mechanisms", but not here. I, for one, couldn't care less, there are many more important things to worry about. See ya. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:40, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

FLN

Hi The Rambling Man, I appreciate that The Rambling Son may be keeping you busy at present, but when you've got time, would you mind taking another look at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of currencies in Europe/archive1 please? I would quite like some action on the page, so that I can have more of a chance. Thanks, Matty.007 20:21, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Some help

Hello. First of all Happy New Year. I'm here to ask, if you don't have some other Wiki-activities during the holidays, to take a look at List of awards and nominations received by Megadeth? Some advices on what needs to be corrected and opinion whether the article is a strong candidate to become FA list would be much appreciated. Thanks and everything the best.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 00:18, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It looks okay, a little on the light side, but if the band haven't been nominated for many awards, that's all you can do. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:44, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

But why have you remove on the article dedicated on la Quenelle, the name of Alain Soral friend and far right activist ?? See my sources Le Monde Juif and Le Parisien. Thanks. 86.218.79.168 (talk) 14:40, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It wrecked the formatting of the article and wasn't written correctly. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:42, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just to explain my recent edits. As the article was originally done, the sentence saying how many people that were killed, had four IC. Two of them were however being used again later in the article. 4 IC on one sentence is WP:OVERCITE IMHO and as those two references were being used elsewhere, I took them off the sentence stating how many were killed.

Hope you, your wife, and your newborn are doing well. Cheers!...William 15:59, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, some people seem to think one or two bare facts need three or four refs, I just tidy them up. All is well at home, thanks, hopefully the same applies to you. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:00, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What appalling news. Thank you for making updates this morning. It is sometimes very depressing to work at ITN. Jehochman Talk 13:00, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

EkoGraf

I did ammend and even source the numbers in the infobox but you REMOVED the sources. Please stop removing properly sourced information and sources and reverting back to out-dated info! If you have a problem that they are not templated than template them but don't replace them with old sources. EkoGraf (talk) 11:48, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for working hard to improve Wikipedia. The Rambling Man (talk) 12:11, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The box seems to indicate that it covers all major terrorist attacks, I have added all since 2004 with 4+ casualties to make the list more comprehensive. Even if red-links, it has value for the reader, not to mention for wikipedians who may be moved to write corresponding articles (at least for Makhachkala which seems to have a major terrorist attack every and each year). Please build consensus before reverting.

Regards, Cimmerian praetor (talk) 16:05, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please read BRD. And please build consensus before adding red links to a navigation template. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:08, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There are hundreds of templates with redlinks. You started to interfere with my edits which are not against any wiki policy, so please be so kind and build consensus for your removal of my content. Thank you. Cimmerian praetor (talk) 16:10, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Please build consensus for their inclusion before reverting again. Please read WP:BRD. Please read WP:3RR. Goodbye. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:11, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mack 10 FLC

I think I fixed all the issues you found with Mack 10 discography. It'd be greatly appreciated if you could check out the new lead for me, since I pretty much re-wrote it. Thanks for the comments!! Really trying to get this to pass FLC CrowzRSA 19:01, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please help me with a page move

It involves Cross County Plaza. The article is about the Cross County Mall. Sometime in 2012, an editor moved it to Cross County Plaza. That's the name of the property currently but the article is about the Cross County Mall which was demolished 16 years ago. My wife's first job in the United States was right across from the mall but better proof of what I am saying can be found here[1] and here[2]. Since I'd be moving it back to a page that already exists as a redirect, I think an administrator is needed. Could you please help me with this? Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!...William 23:37, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reference Desk

Please disengage, TRM. I've advised the other two that they can pursue an RFC, and I've advised you of that as well. I've also advised them that they should not archive/unarchive threads in which they are involved. I believe all of you mean well, but this disruption is all over the place and it's not fair to anyone. --Laser brain (talk) 21:35, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, will do once all the censorship is redacted. And once the personal attack is redacted. And once the comedy duo behaviour ceases. I take your point, but no-one seems to be talking to Medeis and Bugs about their shambolic and insulting behaviour, just me because I happen to be an admin. I'm afraid I don't think they mean well, I think they mean to use the Ref Desks as their personal laugh platform, which is not what it's designed for. Hence the numerous complaints from numerous editors which have achieved nothing until I stood up for the cause. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:37, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I maintain that a formal RFC is the best way forward if you want to address this issue. If others have observed the same thing, you should have no trouble finding people to certify it. The bickering spilling about project space is not going to get you what you want, I assure you. The RD talk page doesn't have enough visibility and AN/I generates nothing but bad will and bad feelings. --Laser brain (talk) 21:40, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I get you, and I appreciate an outside view. The number of complainants at the ref desk has increased so much recently that something has to be done. Bugs has a history of being unable to contribute constructively per his Arbcom advice and that's evident in every post he makes. Medeis on the other hand can be rational but after replying to a post relating to something personal to her, she then decided it was far too much and need it all censored. Both need to work harder if they're supposed to be the "front end" of the encyclopaedia for people asking questions. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:45, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Good luck with the seemingly interminable ANI case. Sorry, I haven't yet felt compelled to vote. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:15, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

List of awards and nominations received by Bruno Mars

Could you please take a look at what I have done so far. Only missing one correction, if I'm not mistaken. Actually, I made one question because I'm not 100% sure. Thank you so much MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:04, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do that, it may take me a few hours, but I'll get there! And you're welcome. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:09, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for clearing my doubt with an example. I believe I made all the corrections you pointed out. Whenever you can just take a look to them, in order to pass the article. Any doubt or other stuff to correct just contact me through my talk page. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 16:54, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There's a IP editor who keeps vandalizing the article but putting nonsense entries in the notable people section. I count over 10 edits to the article since the spring of last year. Here is his most recent one[3], and here is the exact same[4] from April of last year. Can you please page protect this article? Though I got to admit when that protection comes off, the IP is likely to be back....William 03:07, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Semi protected for a bit. The Rambling Man (talk) 08:50, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You beat me to it!

How dare you do 1954 BOAC Constellation crash.

Turn off the sarcasm now. I like to have a meaty article instead of a 2 sentence stub, so I never put anything together in 10 minutes article wise. I did work on the article and there's still more to do but I have to go places in a little while. Will do a description of the accident and its aftermath once I'm home....William 16:20, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well as long as you can establish and verify notability, a stub suffices. And often as not it attracts others to join in. Anyway, look forward to seeing it expand, I'll dive in myself. Perhaps if we get it fat enough in the next few days we can list it as a DYK, e.g. ... did you know "... that the BOAC Constellation crash in 1954, with 33 fatalities, remains Singapore's deadliest aircraft accident?". The Rambling Man (talk) 17:30, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the link you provided me at my talk page. I'll try using those sources to beef up the article more. Since coming home I have done some work.
I think this crash article would make a good DYK after more work is done. Should it pass the criteria(Don't know anything about the DYK process. I created Swissair Flight 316 but other editors got it up to snuff for DYK), maybe the DYK can run on this coming 14 March would be the crash's 60th anniversary....William 19:05, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think it has to run within five days of creation/expansion, so we'd need to get it up to scratch sooner rather than later! The Rambling Man (talk) 19:07, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for telling me that. I'll put a message on a couple of the aviation/accident project talk pages so to enlist other editors to work on the article so it can be a DYK....William 19:12, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Closing Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of light cruisers of Germany/archive1

According to the closing note the list was promoted 3 days ago. Does it take that long for the talkpage to get updated? Thanks MisterBee1966 (talk) 18:11, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bots sometimes take a long time. I think it's been noted on WT:FLC in the past. You could ask one of the delegates to close it manually? The Rambling Man (talk) 18:12, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm alerting you to this discussion I started. FYI, I keep a lookout for the sockpuppets of a certain banned editor and have been doing so for about year and alerting The Bushranger or MilborneOne if I think I found another. This discussion pertains to another sock and his possible IP editing also.

Thank you for also crediting me for the BOAC article. ...William 15:52, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The DYK article we worked on has been moved to 1954 BOAC Lockheed Constellation L497-A crash. Which is absolutely wrong. What's a 497-A?...William 12:00, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
