Priyadarshini Chatterjee is an Indian model of Bengali origin from the state of Assam.[1] She is a student and was crowned Femina Miss India World in 2016.[2] She will represent India at the Miss World 2016 pageant.[3][4][5]
Early life
Priyadarshini was born as a premature baby and as her chances of survival were less, she had to undergo many surgeries.[6][7]She was brought up in Guwahati city in the state of Assam.[8][9]At the age of 9, she was hospitalized on the account of severe abdominal pain. It was diagnosed that she had a major tumor in her intestine and she had to undergo surgery. If the operation had been delayed, she wouldn't have survived.[10][11][12]She completed her schooling in Maria's Public School in Guwahati and moved to New Delhi to pursue higher studies.[13] She is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree from Hindu College, University of Delhi.[14][15]
Modeling and pageantry
While pursuing education in New Delhi, She started a career in modeling. She has done many modeling assignments by working as a freelance model.[16][17] In 2016 she won the title of Femina Miss Delhi,[18][19] which gave her a direct entry to participate in Femina Miss India 2016, where she won the title of Femina Miss India World 2016.[20][21]
