Vikings is a Canadian-Irish historical drama television series created and written by Michael Hirst for the History Channel. It premiered on March 3, 2013.[1] Vikings was renewed for a fourth season in March 2015 with an extended order of 20 episodes, which premiered on February 18, 2016.[2][3][4] On March 17, 2016, History renewed Vikings for a fifth season of 20 episodes.[5] Lua error in Module:Spellnum_per_MOS at line 18: attempt to compare nil with number.

A series of thirteen webisodes known as Vikings: Athelstan's Journal was released by the History Channel. Each webisode serves as a journal entry for the Vikings character Athelstan.
