This article has issues, and I already started a discussion in the talk page. --George Ho (talk) 00:42, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't matter--the article space isn't the place for talk content. That is to say, no one should be complaining about article defects by defacing the top of the article. Robert K S (talk) 02:44, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ENIAC

Robert - I've been meaning to tell you...but then I forgot...and now I remembered. Last month someone wondered who was Glen Beck in a ENIAC photo. Then, guessing it was vandalism he took out the name. Now today I thought to see who put the photo in the article - and it was you, on 11 May 2009. -GroveGuy (talk) 09:43, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:1974Jeopardy!Art1.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:1974Jeopardy!Art1.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. RJaguar3 | u | t 17:26, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WP:3RR on Jeopardy! Suggestion

With this third reversion you are now violating WP:3RR in your content dispute. Please stop this WP:DE activity. (first reversion, second reversion) AldezD (talk) 17:02, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As I pointed out, I welcome some third-party eyes. I don't like the fact that you've deliberately included incorrect information in the article, and allowed that incorrect information to stay in the article, despite explanations as to why that information is incorrect. But it's a step too far for you to demand that the article be updated with a "warning" that states that the information can "never" be correct. That's insane. Robert K S (talk) 17:05, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I should probably point out, just for the record, that AldezD's post is incorrect in that there was no 3RR violation, which requires three reverts in a 24-hour period. Robert K S (talk) 19:20, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless of the technicalities of 3RR, you are engaging in WP:EW behavior, and reverted the same edit three times. AldezD (talk) 19:29, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, and, from my perspective, you're engaging in a lot of bad-faith wikilawyering, rather than making a good-faith effort to solve the problem. I'm one of the good guys. I care about getting things right, and working toward consensus. How frequently do you find someone like that? Snap out of it and work with me, here. Robert K S (talk) 19:30, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You engage in edit warring, you accuse others of acting in bad faith, claim editors "can't count" when your essay is questioned, and make condescending remarks—yet expect others to assume good faith about you and understand you are "one of the good guys". You have a clear pattern of this behavior all the way back to 2009, when you disputed the removal of your rollback privileges. There is also another incident regarding your behavior at WP:ANI. AldezD (talk) 20:09, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Don't accuse me of edit warring. I haven't deleted the inaccurate information you have included in Jeopardy! for the very reason that I am not interested in engaging in an edit war with you. I have asked for neutral parties to give a look to the problem for the same reason. As to the accusation that I claim editors "can't count," I believe my essay notes particularly my belief that even Wikipedia editors can count. Cheers, Robert K S (talk) 20:15, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

J! and small world

I came over to your user page to learn more about your j-archive work and saw you have "A Young Girl Defending Herself Against Eros" on your page. I love that painting!

I saw it in person at Getty in the late 90s - the day after I won Jeopardy twice. :)

Small world! [posting as IP because reasons] 107.188.28.209 (talk) 02:57, 15 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The digital version doesn't do it justice. It must be seen in person. It's so lifelike and incredible. I wouldn't know about the painting except for having seen it at the Getty. Thanks for the message, and congrats on being a 2-time champion. If your shows aren't in the Archive, hopefully we can get them in, possibly with your help. Feel free to be of further contact. All the best, Robert K S (talk) 16:53, 15 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Talk to me if you're interesting in me moving its contents to the relevant talk page and collapsing the section (to avoid further argument there) so that it remains the actual evidence for your points without it being some inappropriate userspace soapbox. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 08:26, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Again, you are making a singular content dispute. That was the crux of the issue within the MFD: whether that content or not would be appropriate. As I stated, that's fine but that discussion does not belong on a userspace. I honestly have no personal opinion about your content, my issue was the idea that you wanted to keep a page that only exists for you to continue to make your argument via a userspace. If you are disputing the deletion of that particular page, the next step is WP:DRV. Please review the instructions here. If you still want to argue generally for the inclusion of the episode count, I'd say that whether or not the page remains does not affect that point. You should consider these options then. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 06:07, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If you are disputing the deletion, take it to DRV. As I stated, it's fine to keep a backup for your points but at some point your points should have been copied to an actual discussion area and then moved on. If the intent was to have a page that remains so you can continually update it with further arguments, that's not in line with policy to me. Again, I've offered that the contents could be copied to the talk page and then left to an archive so that they aren't lost. If your only resolution is to keep the page itself alive, then it appears more of a soapbox than an actual dispute. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 17:05, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think my closing explanation was plenty explanatory. As I stated before, if the purpose was a general discussion about WP:CALC as a policy, that's one thing but it wasn't. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 17:18, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
