And so ends the first round of the competition. Everyone with a positive score moves on to Round 2. With 56 contestants qualifying, each group in Round 2 contains seven contestants, with the two leaders from each group due to qualify for Round 3 as well as the top sixteen remaining contestants.

Our top scorers in Round 1 were:

• L293D, a WikiCup newcomer, led the field with ten good articles on submarines for a total of 357 points.
• Adam Cuerden, a WikiCup veteran, came next with 274 points, mostly from eight featured pictures, restorations of artwork.
• MPJ-DK, a wrestling enthusiast, was in third place with 263 points, garnered from a featured list, five good articles, two DYKs and four GARs.
• Usernameunique came next at 243, with a featured article and a good article, both on ancient helmets.
• Squeamish Ossifrage was in joint fifth place with 224 points, mostly garnered from bringing the 1937 Fox vault fire to featured article status.
• Ed! was also on 224, with an amazing number of good article reviews (56 actually).

These contestants, like all the others, now have to start scoring points again from scratch. Between them, contestants completed reviews on 143 good articles, one hundred more than the number of good articles they claimed for, thus making a substantial dent in the review backlog. Well done all!

Remember that any content promoted after the end of Round 1 but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews.

Early life, education, and early career

Gonzalez was born in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1967[2] to [Olga Cantu] and [Vicente Gonzalez], a Korean War veteran and U.S. Merchant Marine. Gonzalez attended Roman Catholic School in Corpus Christi for part of his primary education, but eventually dropped out of high school during his junior year. He went onto obtain a G.E.D. and returned to school by enrolling at Del Mar Junior College where he received an Associate’s Degree in Banking and Finance.[3][4]

In 1992, Gonzalez received his Bachelor of Science degree in aviation business administration from the Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University on the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. After high school, and throughout college, Gonzalez traveled to almost 100 countries around the world.

In 1996, Gonzalez obtained his Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law) in Fort Worth, Texas. While a law student, he interned for then Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz (D-TX-27). He trained in Negotiation at Harvard Law School [in Cambridge, Massachusetts]. In 1997, he founded the law firm, V. Gonzalez & Associates, in McAllen, Texas. He is a member of the Bar Associations of Texas and New York.[5]

As an attorney, Gonzalez successfully recovered millions in proceeds for businesses, homeowners and public schools throughout the country. His professional successes prompted an invitation to join the prestigious Million Dollar & Multi-million Dollar Advocates Forum, a membership reserved for less than one percent of American attorneys.

Gonzalez's wife, Lorena Saenz Gonzalez, is a former educator and school administrator from McAllen, Texas.

I did not engage in edit warring. I reverted his revert of my good-faith and objective addition only once, then requested page protection. I would like my addition to be restored and the editor to be prevented from changing it, as there is nothing inaccurate or malicious within my addition; in fact, it simply serves as further information on Hendke's page. @Gbabuch: The citations and formatting are not the issue here. The issue is neutrality. WP:CONTROVERSYSECTIONS violate neutrality by producing an undue emphasis on negative material. Also, that material has been relocated throughout the article, so that you are addiction of a controversy section is stating the controversial information twice. The other editors have mentioned this in their edit summaries. Therefore, your edit will not be reinserted. Any attempts on your part 2 reinsert it constitute edit warring, and may result in a block. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:18, 16 October 2019 (UTC)

WP:CONTROVERSYSECTION is an essay. Whether something adheres to NPOV is a content dispute, which should be resolved through a discussion. You cannot give mandates like "Therefore, your edit will not be reinserted".

Why not just tell everybody to go to the article talk page or WP:BLPN? There is a discussion at BLPN: Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard#Peter Handke. One editor said "I don't think it's unreasonable that the controversies take up almost half Peter Handke". This was on 10 October, when there was a separate controversy section. -Has been placed in rotation nationally by a major radio or music television network. -Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or TV network.

& based on general notability; f a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list. Significant coverage is more than a trivial mention, but it does not need to be the main topic of the source material.

Also based on Wikipedia: Proof, Wikipedia: Referrals and Wikipedia: Neutral Perspectives, this article introduces an artist who has just introduced her & is Impartial and all the statements are referenced to reliable sources (valid news agencies from several countries that is shown her internationally recognized) and can be verified, & also articles of Iranian artists similar her are all confirmed and featured on Wikipedia. & also based on Wikipedia: the removal policy, this article is not eligible for removal. Wikipedia is the site that pushes goofy conspiracies, not the other way around, that's why I decided to join. I can tell you for a fact that 50% of the content on Wikipedia is incorrect. But it's correct according to your rules. Respectfully, you have a lot of homework to do. And what you believe is very relevant because it is based on your views and opinions, and political bias, that you decide what is a conspiracy and what is a fact. It's not objective, and that's why no one takes Wikipedia seriously anymore. CNN is a known site that promotes goofy conspiracies, yet for Wikipedia it's considered a highly credible source. Thank you, I realize that you try to contribute to something, however something obviously doesn't work. I've been a writer for 20 years on complex topics and I've used Wikipedia as a source (CITATION) reference in articles, hundreds of articles, books, research reports, PhD thesis, readers would chastise me and I defended Wikipedia. Recently I've noticed that when you go to a page to get the facts, they have been 'edited' and then if you try to fix them here comes a troll to 'override' you. I've been using Wikipedia since day one heavily but never contributed. The content quality has seriously deteriorated, so please tell me why this is happening, and why since 2016? If it's not trolls, what is it? Wikipedia **used to be** an encyclopedia, now it's a quasi forum/blog whereby administrators push their opinion by overruling any dissent. • An RfC on the administrator resysop criteria was closed. 18 proposals have been summarised with a variety of supported and opposed statements. The inactivity grace period within which a new request for adminship is not required has been reduced from three years to two. As far as being neutral that would mean you stand in the middle and do not take any sides. You can explain the rally and such but Kessler simply tried to arrange a Unite the Right (to free speech) and a bunch of idiots showed up. That was not his fault. Does the Black lives Matter page say they are Black Panthers and black supremacist? Please try to as you said make the article neutral and let people make their own mind up. Could you please provide sources/proof of him being a white supremacist. No fake news please. He simply wanted to have a voice for white people as blacks have their own. My brother-in-law is black and he does not feel he was being a white supremacist any video Kessler made stated he never spoke of hate or taking sides. I am Italian. To call him a white supremacist is wrong and incorrect. The Black lives Matter movement is filled with hate. Do you believe Michael Jackson is guilty? I don't. I believe Michael Jackson was a good person and an excellent entertainer. I love MJ and will always back his innocence. Again, I'm going to go check now, does the Black lives Matter movement say they are Black Panthers or Black Supremacist? Let's be neutral as you stated. Hunter Biden French Wikipedia

Hi, while reading the French Wikipedia Hunter Biden page I was astonished by the quality of it, it is a copy-paste of GOP and FOX talking points only referencing damaging private details (cocaïne, prostitues, adultery...) why also promoting debunked conspiracy theories.

I tried to modify the page, first I deleted all which was maybe excessive, but then I only tried to translate the English Wikipedia page, which is more neutral into French. Even that was blocked though. I referenced all this on the discussion page but got no response except blocking attempts by russian trolls. I was told to contact the french page owners, but seeing all what was referenced and biased on it, I truly have little trust in them. Could some redacters from the English Hunter Page wage on this with French-speaking Wikipedia administrators, as the differences of quality on information on English and french page are appalling, it's like two opposing stories. And it is really unacceptable what is currently printed on the french page, it's not neutral, full of debunked lies or not relevant. ty for any help to restore some dignity or truth... --Nicolas.eisbar (talk) 10:40, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Tulsi Gabbard; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. Edit keeps being removed, even after I added an independent source

Hi,

I have been trying to add some information, regarding Declared Democratic candidate Hal Shouse, on the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_United_States_Senate_special_election_in_Georgia page.

The first time, you removed my edit, because you said it lacked an independent source. So, I re-added the information, and added the citation to the following source: https://www.fec.gov/data/committee/C00719963/?cycle=2020 Here is a link to that edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2020_United_States_Senate_special_election_in_Georgia&oldid=930024164 Perhaps I am misunderstanding what you consider an independent source, but that seems pretty solid, to me. He has registered his candidacy, with the FEC. He has an active political campaign.

The edits to this page are the first time I have attempted to make any edits on Wikipedia. I appreciate any help you can provide.

23Mike, we need a reliable, secondary source, which is not an FEC filing. Many people file with the FEC and then do not run. No source is presented in the article. My info keeps being deleted

I'm running for US Senate and my information on the Wiki page about the election keeps being deleted. I'm registered as a legitimate candidate through the FEC. The FEC IS THE ONLY place that MATTERS in reference to who IS and ISNT a candidate. YOU can go there and put my name in and CONFIRM that I AM a candidate, why is that NOT good enough? What ELSE, if the OFFICIAL federal regulating body isn't good enough do you consider GOOD enough?? Frank Robinson GA nomination request

I only have time for small edits like proofreading and I haven't really worked on his article nor do I have enough wiki experience. I just noticed the page had been nominated way back in 2006 and it has seemed to be improved quite a bit since then.
