* Hi {{u|Patricia Mannerheim}} and thanks for stopping by. I reviewed the article but immediately felt like I was out of my comfort zone as the article is about a living man while my expertise is regarding dead women. Furthermore, I can't read Persian/Farsi and am not comfortable with translation apps for languages for which I lack familiarity. You are already working with a good team (the 4 editors mentioned above) so listening to their feedback would be my recommendation. Happy editing! --[[User:Rosiestep|Rosiestep]] ([[User talk:Rosiestep#top|talk]]) 22:55, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

Happy New Year

2024

Happy New Year, to you as well, Gerda Arendt! --Rosiestep (talk) 13:41, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The 2023 picture is from the Abel Fest in Köthen, celebrating the tercentenary of Carl Friedrich Abel, a viol virtuoso, composer and concert organiser in London (together with Bach's youngest son), born on 22 December 1723 in Köthen, where the new catalogue of his works was introduced, - my story today. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:58, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Donatello (catalogue of works)

@[user:Rosiestep|Rosiestep], happy New Year! You really seem to be a communicative person with all your adresses and appearances (and a smart one, too, even telegram). So I want to ask, do I have to be honored by having my lemma been reviewed by you? (since you didn't correct anything). Is there a rule, that admins review new lemmas, no matter what? What does it mean that you reviewed the article?

- I originally created the page at de:wiki and translated it afterwards. I wasn't finished with both, but I am currently on a grand detour, editing other stuff, that I am now occupied with. Beside a whole bunch of fine tuning and further referencing in the catalogue itself, I haven't been quiet sure about the somewhat extensive notes on the whole thing (style, too much, too generic, too specific...). Beside the missing inline references (yet), I question the positioning of this rather long text, before you get to the meat. I asked johnbod about it and he suggested, that I could move the whole explanatory text beneath the tables. So I am keen to ask, what do you think? Do you have any suggestion? I mean, you may just compliment me,-) MenkinAlRire 16:04, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hiya MenkinAlRire. Thank you for your kind words. Thanks you, too, for creating the list article, Donatello (catalogue of works). I can see that you put a lot of work into it. I really enjoy doing WP:NPP as I get to quickly learn about all sorts of things that I might not otherwise come across in my wiki work (or life!). There is no requirement that admins serve as New Page Patrollers, and if they do wish to participate in that work, they, like all other volunteer editors, can choose what they want to review. Today, I was reviewing articles sorted within WP:NPP History grouping, and that's how I came across the list article on Donatello's catalogue of works. I'll add specific comments regarding article improvement here, Talk:Donatello (catalogue of works), in order to centralize the conversation. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:18, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Break

Looks like February or late January is when it's going to happen this winter. Late-Jan into mid-Feb is typically our coldest part of the season but most often our driest too. I've set a target for the 1st of Feb which means I probably wont be here for Valentines Day and my birthday. It's been an absolute joy to create the Cat's page for you and to keep it updated. I'll keep you informed of the exact day as it comes closer. --ARoseWolf 16:42, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ARoseWolf. I realized a couple of weeks ago that this message would be coming eventually. Honestly, it makes me a little anxious, knowing that you're dealing with an Arctic winter. But I hope it's magical, peaceful, restful, and fun! I'll be waiting to hear from you once the days become longer; it's a happy moment when that occurs, when you're back in touch.
Miss you already,
Rosie & the cats --Rosiestep (talk) 17:05, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It makes me anxious too and I'm one going on break. Just know that Wikipedia and a love for this encyclopedia/community is in the very fabric of my being. I will always return if I can. I learned a phrase while I was tracing my past that I think is appropriate for this occasion, though I'm not gone yet, Donada'govi Tohidu. It literally means "Until we meet each other again, good peace" but Tohidu is an much more interesting part of the phrase but it doesn't simply imply a peace "that is good" but peace in "body, mind and Spirit". It is wishing more than feelings and more than emotions but a state of peaceful being, existence and balance until the world circles and brings us back together again. --ARoseWolf 17:17, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Here's to anxiousness and peacefulness being in harmony. , --Rosiestep (talk) 08:19, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

NPP Awards for 2023

The New Page Reviewer's Silver Award

For over 2,000 article reviews during 2023. Well done! Keep up the good work and thank you! Dr vulpes (Talk) 02:54, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dear admin Rosie. Before this, you helped me and reviewed my articles more about the women blue project (Women in red). I must thank you for your helps. I have a question about the above topic. If you have the time and don't mind this kind of stuff, I'd really appreciate it if you read this draft. The topic was deleted 7 months ago. So I edited it with independent sources and secondary references by policy on living people as nobles in the draft. I spent more than 50 hours and some editors and admins helped me in this field. I have the utmost respect for them: Dear admin Liz who revived the draft KylieTastic for read And given wonderful advice,Goldsztajn who was so kind and Spending a lot of time for read draft and wrote excellent comments and Johannnes89 who is a global sysop (admin). Please read the history of the draft and Comments. If you have a positive opinion about this draft, as a seasoned and experienced manager, please review it. With respect. —Patricia (Talk) 19:20, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
