Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, and Margaret Qualley were set to star in the film with plans to begin shooting in New Orleans in October.[9] In October 2022, Hong Chau,[10] Joe Alwyn,[11] and Mamoudou Athie joined the cast.[12] In a February 2023 interview, Hunter Schafer revealed she had "a little cameo" in the film.[13]

Filming took place in New Orleans from October 24 to December 16, 2022.[14][15] The three stories in the triptych were filmed back to back and each story took three weeks to be completed.[16] In December 2023, the film was re-titled Kinds of Kindness.[17]
