==Proposed Article "Gooseneck Lamp"==

It's long overdue and must be covered.. Note, imagine a world without the concept of the gooseneck lmap.. No "War of the Worlds" tripods (note original tripods had gooseneck legs).. No "Docter Octapus", spiderman character, used goosneck claws. Goosneck lamp is the only modern day contribution of the Art Nouveau movement started by ones like Antoni Gaudi (do google image search on "Gaudi") and Louis Comfort Tiffany (as in "breakfast at tiffany's"). The fundamentals of Art Nouveau was architecture, furniture, art imitating nature.. It was a protest (like sensory overload) against the Industrial Age.

Proposed Article "Gooseneck Lamp"

Proposed Article "Let's Get Out of Here"

Looks like this one got snuffed this one right away, without even sitting on Death Row. I can't find it in "articles set for deletion", and even those articles haven't been taken off yet. Is the "Wikipedia Deletion Policy" taken seriously? Mandsford 19:26, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(Response) I anticipated this, but it's not intended as a facetious article. (If I can get to the article again, I'll add the sources, which were from books and from imsdb.com, and I'll delete the M.L. Ford part); Coincidentally, I, too, am a real Kentucky hick, though I still live here. The prevalence of "let's get out of here" is noted not just in the Guinness "Film Facts & Feats" book (Patrick Robertson, 1985), but on commentaries that go with films, such as DVD-TV on AMC. Did I sit and watch all these movies myself? Of course not. I referred to the Internet Movie Script Database (imsdb.com).

The research is no less original than the numerous articles about a TV episode from some new TV series. And don't get me started about how every other article seems to feature a cultural reference to "The Simpsons". Geez Louise, it's like I can't read about polyurethane without a note that says, "Bart says the word 'polyurethane' in Episode 7 of the 10th season". Please, let this one grow and be added to. LGOOH is fun for movie buffs. Mandsford 17:35, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

article on 'scaping

this isnt neologism it came straight from the runescape website. whether or not they consider it a new word is unkown

"Slovetzian Language"

Please do not delete it. Please allow time for any credible references and evidence for the article to stand.

I made the article after watching the movie Beautician and the Beast. The fictional language "Slovetzian" was based on Slavic languages according to the film's producers and screenwriters. But I need credible evidence from any Wikipedia user who speaks a Slavic language and who has watched the movie to confirm this. (I don't speak any Slavic language whatsoever) Please allow the article to be "fixed" rather than be deleted. Sorry for starting the article with no evidence and any references. But hopefully I and/or other users will come up with credible evidence to add more now. Please allow time for any credible references to be added to this article in order to be allowed to stand and raise it up to Wikipedia standarts. Sorry for any problems caused.

I looked at the deleted versions of the article, and none of them particularly assert notability -- certainly not to the degree now laid out on the talk page. Even that page, however, is kinda iffy regarding notability. All the sources essentially say the same thing: that the band was popular on MySpace, is now signed to the MySpace record imprint of Interscope Records (no mention of this on the Interscope page), and has an album coming out in June. I think I will recommend to the poster that she ask for a deletion review. NawlinWiki 03:46, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A deletion review might be appropriate. This article has been re-created about seven times now.[1]. The basic problem is that they don't have two CDs on a major label, or a national tour, or an article in a major publication. They have one song on a compilation CD from "Myspace Records", two self-published CDs in GraceNote, and minor mentions in articles about Myspace. So they don't meet WP:BAND. But they have a really loud Myspace PR operation. Supposedly they're going to have a CD out Real Soon Now [2], so I'd suggest postponing any action until that happens. They already have a mention in the Myspace Records article. --John Nagle 04:26, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brand ambassador

I wanted to start writing a new article regarding "Brand ambassador". This can't be written by one day or two. It will take some time. Pls advice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adnandx (talkcontribs)

Thank you for your kind attitude; I really appreciate it :) It's nice to see some respectful Wikipedians for once.

In replying to your comment, I'm just curious, but which policy states that I cannot put a CSD tag on an article that has the {{underconstruction}} tag? I'm not trying to refute your claims or anything, but I just want to know for future reference. SuperDT 19:41, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Notability of Tribal Wars

I'm not the creator of the original article, I merely completed a redirect that someone left hanging on the old page. Please inform the correct person who first created the page rather then me. Thank you. --Steven 03:38, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

May 2007

Thank you for making a report about User:Hutcho (talk · contribs · block log) on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. Evilclown93 23:39, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You had the following deletion reason: This is an indisicriminate list which can easily be incorporated in the main Samurai Shodown article. This is not a current speedy reason. I've nominated the article to AFD, and it can be found at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Samurai shodown animals. Please make sure your speedy reasons match one of the speedy criteria, otherwise just post them at AFD. Cheers! —— Eagle101Need help? 22:24, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My stub "Legislative history of the tip credit".

Thanks very much for your comment/observation.  My purpose is just to hold a place for an ancillary article to my main article "Tip wage credit" that I've been developing on my Talk page, and have just today pasted as its intended Wikipedia namespace article.  My main article has a short section on the legislative history of the tip [wage] credit.  Whittaker's CRS monographs on the minimum wage and the tip wage credit are concise, authoritative, and definitive, as they are on other subjects of his on topics of Congressional interest.  What I intend my "legislative history" article to be is a summary of Whittaker's work on the subject.  My article will not be a verbatim copy of Whittaker's work, of course, but I cerainly will clearly identify him and the CRS report as the source of my article.  Thanks again.  K. Please explain more fully

I responded to the {{nn}} tag you applied to the Muhammad Jayid Hadi Al-Subai'i article.

Can I ask how much time and energy you spent on this article, before you applied the tag?

Can I ask you to explain your placement of the tag more fully?

Cheers! Geo Swan 18:43, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Which {{nn}} triggered my concern you asked? The one on Muhammad Jayid Hadi Al-Subai'i.
User talk:Geo Swan carrying around an inappropriate tags because one one of my correspondents wasn't careful when they discussed it with me. When I looked into it I had been carrying it around for more than six months. That is why I was careful when I asked about it. I thought it might be that kind of mistake.
Anyhow, if you are going to discuss your placement of {{nn}} on the Muhammad Jayid Hadi Al-Subai'i article, let's discuss it on Talk:Muhammad Jayid Hadi Al-Subai'i
If you decide you don't want to discuss that particular {{nn}}, I trust you won't have a problem with me putting a link to this discussion on Talk:Muhammad Jayid Hadi Al-Subai'i? Just in the interests of completeness.
Cheers!
I'd be interested in reading the treatise you mentioned. But it seems to have gone AWOL. -- Geo Swan 04:22, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain more fully

I took a look at User:Realkyhick, and saw it looked like you had applied Category:Wikipedians against notability to yourself.

I too think "notability" should be deprecated.

Yet you applied {{nn}}? Have you considered putting a sub-page somewhere in your user pages where you explain your views on notability more fully?

Cheers! Geo Swan 19:20, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

World War I

Just so you know, the article that I deleted and you recreated was at World War l with a lowercase L at the end, not World War I with a capital i at the end. The deleted version had no history except vandalism. Unless I'm mistaken ... maybe you can double check me. --Ed (Edgar181) 23:52, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

Removed the tags, before it was just a stub template, so you can see where I came from there.--Whsitchy 22:06, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I removed the speedy tag you placed on this article. Ryden was a member of Naglfar (band), so he appears to have some prima facie notability. If you still feel this article should not be included in Wikipedia, there is still WP:AFD. Thanks! Johnleemk | Talk 16:04, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Lights.Action!

Hi, I saw you placed it for speedy deletion. Is the Skinnymag source at the bottom enough to verify its notability? If not then leave it as is and let the reviewing admin decide whether to delete it. Thanks you. -- Hdt83 Chat 07:34, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the tagging of this article, could you please comment on why you dispute the neutrality, and what you feel needs to be done to provide sufficient context? Thanks, Darksun 18:53, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

John Lennon Songwriting Contest

Hello - please see discussion at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:John_Lennon_songwriting_contest - your input is appreciated. (Specifically, how to go about making it not sound like an ad? In my view it doesn't sound like an ad but I respect your opinion.) Also, I'll see if I can find third party citations. After I do, please remove the appropriate tags. Thanks for your input. Gekritzl 00:33, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Very cool. Funny sometimes how this works - we both decided to bolster the article up at the same time, found the same external references. Thanks for your contribution to the article, and thanks for your input. Do you think we should tag it with a "stub" flag? Gekritzl 01:01, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Will leave "stub" off. Well played - thank you. Gekritzl 01:30, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Very well done, thanks for your contributions to the article, it looks great now. Surprising that until yesterday there wasn't a WP article on this. Gekritzl 01:39, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I noticed you nominated this for speedy deletion thirteen minutes after its creation and while the original writer was still working on it. Perhaps asking them to add some sources - or showing them how to - would have been more appropriate. I've edited the article and added some sources for the books and links for reviews [3]. Koomson is an English novelist who has published 4 novels so far. Nick mallory 06:29, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re:Martini pong

I didn't tag it as nonsense because it's not patent nonsense, as I understand the definition. It's perfectly comprehensible, just retarded. --P4k 07:21, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MY ARTICLE IS NOT ADVERTISING!

The article is a simple list of items for purchase in Nicktropolis, not a flashy website going, "Buy this! Buy that!" This is NOT ADVERTISING, just a list. I have contested the tag. Thanks in advance! Jonjonbt 15:16, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Jonjonbt[reply]

I thing you just like deleting pages!

Jonjonbt 15:19, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Jonjonbt[reply]

Well then... WHAT is the criteria? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonjonbt (talkcontribs)

Why after only 6 seconds of creating a page do you try and delete it?

Please explain why you are attempting to speedily delete Sports and Pop Culture Bank? The article posted is an explanation of the site's creation and its viability in the first few months of existence. It also gives a brief overview of its head writers specific duties.Anderspc 22:33, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, so since you don't read those blogs and you don't consider the ranking to be good enough you think you can delete it? Must I remind you that this is a FREE encyclopedia. I can gladly take the links out. The purpose of me creating the article was not for web site traffic but so that people can learn about the site on one of the most visited sites. However, you can help by sending a message that says what needs to happen before it will be deleted before immediately attempting to delete the page.

And yes, 6 seconds is about right. I saved the article, noticed a spelling error, changed it and tried to hit save again when I saw the "delete" message. Anderspc 22:53, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, asshole. What good is giving me 10 minutes to change the article so that it is in compliance with the wikipedia rules? Thanks for the help. I have references now and you go and delete it? Even after I had put the hangon thing under the delete message. I really appreciate you telling me that it wasn't cut and dry only to have it deleted less than 5 minutes later.
