David Feeney (born 5 March 1970) is an Australian politician. He has been a Labor member of the Australian Senate since July 2008.
Feeney attended Mercedes College, Adelaide before moving to Melbourne.
Feeney served as Victorian State Secretary and State Labor Campaign Director from March 1999 to December 2002.
Feeney is also the Assistant National Secretary of the Australian Labor Party. He is considered one of the most influential figures in the Labor Unity faction which dominates the Victorian branch of the Party. In March 2006 he was endorsed as a Labor candidate for the Australian Senate in Victoria on the 'ticket' in the third position, which he won.
He was the Campaign Director for Labor during the 2006 South Australian state election. [1]
He worked for the Premier of Victoria Steve Bracks as one of his top advisers as Director of Strategy and before that was the State Secretary of the Victorian Branch where he enjoyed considerable success as a fund-raiser and campaign director. [2]
