I admire the work you've done on this template. I created the hockey template, but it has been locked and looks exactly the same as when I created it. The reason given is vandalism, but I see that your template is unlocked. I was wondering if you could give some input on whether vandalism is a major issue with the baseball template, and whether contributions from non-administrators has helped grow this template at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_page_protection#template:infobox_NHL_Player, because I came back after 2 years and am really pissed off to find it locked. I don't want to make any more contributions, I just want to see it grow and become better like baseball's has. |

MLB Player infobox
I have requested that your recent change to MLB Player infobox is reverted. By adding a new parameter, someone will have to update thousands of articles. The correct approach is to use an already-existing variable to determine if it says "batted/bats" or "threw/throws". I hope you will agree with my proposal. I do not want "change-tense" to be a parameter that is manually added to thousands of articles. The template should be smarter than that. Timneu22 (talk) 11:19, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- I have no problem with it being reverted. I don't however have any solutions. —Borgarde 11:22, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- I see the way you've done it and I don't know why I didn't think of that. —Borgarde 11:26, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- Cool... the magic of templates! :-) Timneu22 (talk) 15:25, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Removal of prod tags from minor league players
There is ambiguity between what constitutes "fully professional". Some editors say that it is only "major league" some say that minor league players qualify under WP:ATHLETE (I have had pages I proded deleted under that exact criteria). While I am not disagreeing with your removal of the tags (I misinterpreted WP:ATHLETE), a "firm policy" when it comes to minor league players has to be made, which looks like is being drafted/discussed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Baseball/Notability guidelines. Cheers. --kelapstick (talk) 04:09, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

I appreciate the kind words. I'm dong my best to satisfy all needs for articles, and for the most part, I'm accurate, however, I am new to editing, so there are a few things that I've had to learn on the fly. I've been hounded by 'wiki-police' since I first started adding player stubs. I've justr played through em like pop warner linebackers, u know what i mean? If there are things I"m missing from my stubs that I should be including, let me know. Again, I appreciate it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gjr rodriguez (talk • contribs) 19:37, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

I notice that this category you created is unpopulated (empty). In other words, no Wikipedia pages belong to it. If it remains unpopulated for four days, it may be deleted without discussion, in accordance with Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. I'm notifying you in case you wish to (re-)populate it by adding [[Category:2006 World Baseball Classic rosters]] to pages that belong in it.
I tagged the category. This will not, in itself, cause the category to be deleted. It serves to document (in the page history) that the category was empty at the time of tagging and also to alert other watchers that the category is in jeopardy. You are welcome to remove the tag if you wish. However, removing the tag will not prevent deletion of the category if it remains empty.
If you created the category in error, or it is no longer needed, you can speed up the deletion process by tagging it with {{db-author}}.
I am a human being, not a bot, so you can contact me if you have questions about this. Best regards, --Stepheng3 (talk) 03:46, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
