ANI
Hi. It's totally your call, but could you please avoid starting multiple new ANI threads over every "uncivil" comment? There are plenty of admins watching CoM et al., and we want to avoid as much drama as possible. Just something to consider. Cheers. –Juliancolton | Talk18:23, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And therein lies the problem.. too many watching, none doing anything - except William, and he gets met with being called a drunk. Anyway, I've moved on. Thanks for the note. -ALLST✰R▼echowuz here20:14, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To all editors dealing with article Jessicka/Hullballoo's aggressive edits
Hi Glad that Twinkle is working for you again. I was offline for a bit so I didn't reply before it apparently resolved itself. Next time you hav problems with it, please have a look into the error console or the javascript console (depends on your browser where you find it) and look for any errors it reports. For something completely different: Are you particularly attached to the shortcut links you have to this page, T:ASE and P:ASE? As you know they are actually cross-namespace redirects, and even if some pseudo-namespaces are somewhat accepted, none of them go to user or user talk space, so those two are pretty unusual, and should actually be deleted. Cheers, Amalthea10:14, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To answer your edit summary, it is very similar to Gigs, but not completely. I edit conflicted with him when I attempted to save mine. I copy/saved my statement then endorsed his. When I attempted to post mine again, I highlighted the sample text and accidentally hit ctrl-c instead of ctrl-v, so I had to start all over again. Mine does, however, go a little more specific with why internal pages need not be indexed, and I mentioned BLP specifically, as it's an important point. لennavecia19:37, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding images and sound samples: MJ as a featured article went through a heavy amount of scrutiny to include non-free content. For the purpose of encyclopedic analysis of an artist's music, sound samples are quite essential, even by the editors who specialize in WP:NFCC who are involved in reviewing music-related content. Janet Jackson, AC/DC, Alice in Chains, Phil Collins, John Frusciante, R.E.M. are other (among numerous) articles that feature several audio samples. Also, the article currently has one non-free image: the screen shot of "Scream". The Bookkeeper(of the Occult)22:25, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. As with every music-related article, different audio samples are used to highlight different techniques used by the musician, particularly the evolution of an artists music over the course of their career. The Bookkeeper(of the Occult)23:05, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As with all non-free content, it should be made very clear in the text why such content is included. If a reliable source says that a sound byte is integral to understanding Jackson's influence or effect, it should be included. If it does not say so, it should either be removed or the text amended to reflect it. A thorough discussion regarding how much nonfree content to use in a single article is always useful. I have no doubt that it was already had during FAC or its preparation, and that it will continue to be had. --Moni3 (talk) 00:11, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't logged in in a while so I didn't see your message, but I recently updated the digiclock template I made and it now supports a time zone offset as you and Cubs197 had suggested. It should be more useful now. • Anakin(talk)03:41, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure if you read my reply, but the image contains multiple geometry which does not qualify for PD ineligible. ZooFari22:33, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It only contains 1 simple geometric shape, a star. Everything else is text. Per {{PD-textlogo}}, this logo is not copyrightable because it ..only consists of typefaces, individual words, slogans, or simple geometric shapes.. -ALLST✰R▼echowuz here22:36, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It contains text, a fixed star with a stroke, a background, and 3 colors. Seems too picky but something ineligible would basically be text. But if you insist, the image falls under your responsibility. ZooFari22:42, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't know about the book, thanks! I'm the one that created the The Free State of Jones (film) stub. Due to the past drama with my articles, I'm not creating any new articles for Wikipedia, but I do agree that it should have its own article instead of a redirect to a blurb about it. -ALLST✰R▼echowuz here17:10, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It might be useful to have a little statement somewhere on your page saying something along the lines of "I own the following doppelganger account(s): User:ASE..."
