Prince Emmanuel of Belgium (Emmanuel Léopold Guillaume François Marie) is a grandchild of King Albert II of Belgium. He is currently fourth in line to the throne of Belgium after his father and his older brother and sister.
Emmanuel was born 4 October 2005, the third child of Philippe, Duke of Brabant and of his wife, Mathilde. The birth took place at 13.06h (CET) in the Erasmus Hospital in Anderlecht. He was 3.9 kg and 50 cm at birth.
On 10 December 2005 in the chapel of the Castle of Ciergnon in the Belgian Ardennes, Emmanuel was baptised by Cardinal Godfried Danneels, Archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels. He was given the names Emmanuel Léopold Guillaume François Marie. His godparents were Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, and his mother's sister, Countess Elisabeth d'Udekem d'Acoz.[1][2]
