:There is no need for a {{tl|hangon}} tag, the article is not in danger of deletion. There still is some concern that the article is somewhat spam-like in nature. I would review the section on [[WP:SPAM|Spam]], revise the article (if necessary), and list your response to the Spam tag in the talk page. At that point, either I or someone else will agree with you and remove it. My best to you. Black Screen Pictures

Hello i believe my article about black screen pictures is just informative and shows people what they do in the film industry. I think it should not be deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Foxfeature (talkcontribs) 03:10, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are certain criteria that an article needs to meet in order for it to survive. Each article has to demonstrate notability using reliable sources. In this case WP:COMPANY applies. Unfortunately it appears this article does not meet that criteria. ttonyb (talk) 03:13, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Black Screen Pictures is a legitimate companies just like summit entertainment and peace arch entertainment. They are a bonifide company signed with a major online literary pitch website the famous http://www.virtualpitchfest.com/1_pros.aspx. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Foxfeature (talkcontribs) 03:21, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
By any chance did you read the articles I pointed you to in my above statement? (WP:COMPANY, reliable sources and notability) If you did you would have noted that the terms "bona fide" and "legitimate" are not part of the criteria. Wikipedia articles are based on verifiability of their notability Using reliable sources. ttonyb (talk) 03:28, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

speedy deletion of katherine chon article

Hello,

The Katherine Chon article you flagged has been updated - there should be no copyright overlaps now. Please let me know as soon as you can if the revised article meets your standards and if the deletion tag can be removed.

Thanks, Thesocialearth (talk) 20:25, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

you deleted my page - The Last Film Festival

you claim it is stolen but we are the same people who wrote the imdb. Please tell me what I am supposed to do if I want the same info up on both sites?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Champ630 (talkcontribs) 17:13, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of things, I only nominated the article for deletion. That nomination was reviewed by an admin and they agreed because the nomination was valid they deleted it. No one said the text was stolen, only that it was a copy of text that existed elsewhere.
Please take a look at the Speedy Deletion notice on your talk page. It outlines what must be done in order to use the text. After you have read the referenced articles, please let me know if you have any specific questions. ttonyb (talk) 17:33, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Is there no way to simply use all of the imdb information for the wiki? I could have sworn I have seen that done, but if it requires me to rewrite everything I will. It's just that it is a hassle to get certain things approved from every actor etc. when anything new is written. If there is a way to just take the same info, please let me know. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Champ630 (talkcontribs) 15:36, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not without violating Wikipedia guidelines and U.S. copyright laws. Unless the text has been released under a license such as CC-BY-SA 3.0, only public domain resources can be copied without permission. ttonyb (talk) 15:59, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I read your message about the speedy deletion for the article I contributed. Can you please advise me of what I can do to adjust it. Thank you for your time. William —Preceding unsigned comment added by William77199 (talkcontribs) 01:49, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Each article has to meet certain criteria to establish Wikipedia notability. Wikipedia notability differs from "real-world" notability in that it does not rely on popularity to meet the criteria. Each article has to demonstrate notability or in this case WP:COMPANY using reliable sources. Unfortunately it appears this article does not meet that criteria. After you have read the sections I cited, please let me know if you have any specific questions. My best to you. ttonyb (talk) 04:21, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for the reply. I understand what you are saying. BaselineAgent.com is the world's only online and mobile sports management company. There is nothing else like it in the world. They have also developed a mobile application for the iphone for athletes to manage their careers. Is it notable to write about? What about writing about the founder? Would his idea and invention be notable? Please advise. Thanks again. William77199 (talk) 04:54, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It may be a significant company in the "real-world", but it still needs to be notable per Wikipedia criteria. Everything in Wikipedia needs to be verifiable. ttonyb (talk) 15:50, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Windsurfer crossing of bass strait

Hi -- I've declined your prod for Windsurfer crossing of bass strait and turned it into a redirect to the Crossings section of Bass Strait -- as there was significant news coverage of a 2009 failed attempt to repeat the crossing, the feat appears to be at least somewhat notable. There was actually a reference in the page, it was just failing to show because of a lack of a references section. Espresso Addict (talk) 02:22, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nice save, thanks! My best to you. ttonyb (talk) 04:14, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have undone your revision because you did not provide an edit summary to indicate why you were reverting content addition by another editor. Without a clear edit summary it is impossible for a third party to evaluate your reason for reversion. If you have concerns about content then please make that clear in your edit summary. Cheers. Weakopedia (talk) 18:32, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

...and I have added back the edit. ttonyb (talk) 18:37, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't disagree with the content removal, just that it is important when reverting, especially good faith contributions from new editors, to let the editor know why we are doing it so that they can improve their understanding of policy, and also so they don't feel that their contributions are worthless. Thanks for adding the summary. Weakopedia (talk) 18:47, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. There may be some confusion on your part. What you speedy-tagged as A7 is currently a redirect to the properly named Marc Wayshak, which you did not speedy tag. Sincerely, --PinkBull 02:31, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I moved the CSD to the correct article. ttonyb (talk) 02:34, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion regarding the nonfiction collection Subversia

Hello, I believe you are wrong in wanting to delete the Wikipedia page for the nonfiction collection Subversia. All the information is correct and has been heavily edited. The article includes a general overview, content, and external links, like most pages for books. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mlhrndz (talkcontribs) 04:20, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comments; however, each article has to meet certain criteria to establish Wikipedia based notability. Wikipedia notability differs from "real-world" notability in that it does not rely on popularity to meet the criteria. Unfortunately, the article appears to fail to meet the criteria in WP:NOTBOOK. ttonyb (talk) 04:24, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Marc Wayshak Page

Hi Ttonyb1, I now understand the errors I made in making the Marc Wayshak page. It clearly needs to be deleted. Will that just happen? or can I delete the article that I created? Thanks, Todd —Preceding unsigned comment added by Toddeagle (talkcontribs) 13:14, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It will just be deleted. ttonyb (talk) 15:30, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This edit should have been discussed before making this change. This software is notable and per WP:Product it can have it's own article. Project Management Software is also required to have it's own article due to Comparison of project management software. I will be reverting this edit and you can propose the merge via the discussion page. Bsanders246 (talk) 16:06, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually there is no need to discuss this merge - I suggest you read WP:PRODUCT. I will be AfDing the article to get more discussion. ttonyb (talk)
I have read WP:PRODUCT and I quote "If the product or service is notable, it can be broken out into its own article. " Bsanders246 (talk) 16:15, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Notability has not been established in the article nor can I find any support in Google that would indicate it is notable per Wikipedia guidelines. ttonyb (talk) 16:17, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Search "prism ares corporation" in Google and you will find adequete notability. If you are having issues finding other credible sources, see the references in PRISM (Project Management Software) and you will find two. Bsanders246 (talk) 16:20, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The majority of hits are press releases, are not third party, and fail WP:RS criteria. Same goes for the article references. ttonyb (talk) 16:47, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think use by NASA gives the product some notability. Bsanders246 (talk) 16:54, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
One might possibly think so, but there is no Wikipedia criteria that states that as being a factor in establishing Wikipedia notability. Remember "real-world" notability is not the same as Wikipedia based notability. Sorry... ttonyb (talk) 16:57, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia's criteria isn't all-inclusive. This isn't just "real-world" notability, it's a link that verifies PRISM's notability. Bsanders246 (talk) 17:22, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tony why did you remove my photo of Bill Cherry (2009 UETA)

You removed it the first time which I wrote HighContrast who told me to upload a HIGH RES photo of Bill. First I must assure you that that photo of him onstage is MY work. I photographed him at a show in St Louis. I am also his webdesigner and the original photo you deleted was from artwork I did on his site. Anyway I uploaded the original high res photo and yet you still deleted it. I am the owner of that photo. I don't know why you keep doing that to me. I kindly ask that you please advise. I am frustrated. What do I need to do? Thank you. DarlingPresleyRocks June 18, 2010. Darling Presley 17:47, 18 June 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Darlingpresleyrocks (talkcontribs)

This issue is that the picture is copyrighted on the site mentioned. You need to send an e-mail to OTRS asserting ownership of the image. Unfortunately, there is no way to determine if the image was released (along with ownership) to the site mentioned. When they receive it they will confirm that you are the owner and the image should be allowed in the article. ttonyb (talk) 19:29, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tony, thank you for responding to me. The photo is definetly my property. And I can prove that. And I am the one who wrote "copyright" on the website and can easily go in there and remove it from the website. Copyright was written on it cuz I didnt want any other persons to steal my layout idea of the site. This is definetly my photography. If I go into his website and remove the copyright mention would that take care of the situation? Or is it still necessary to email OTRS? Whats the easiest , best and quickest solution. I can always upload a different concert pic that is not used on the website if that makes a difference. Please let me know. Thank you. Darlingpresleyrocks. Darling Presley —Preceding unsigned comment added by Darlingpresleyrocks (talkcontribs) 21:37, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since the a copyright symbol is not required to copyright a published text, its removal will not absolve the copyright. Basically all text published since March 1, 1989 need not have a symbol to be copyrighted. The fasted way would be to replace with an unpublished image. ttonyb (talk) 22:03, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ttonyb1, Thanks for the citation edits, as I was unsure of proper formatting. I thought WP preferred the use of Anchor text and that's why I did such Also, Why does the article need additional citations when there is at least one per line? Bsanders246 (talk) 19:55, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem...I am not sure there if is a preferred way of citing text. (Admittedly, I have not looked for one.) 8-)
I have marked the article as requiring additional citations because majority of the existing refs do not appear to meet the criteria in WP:RS. Thanks for asking and sorry this is so much of a pain. ttonyb (talk) 20:01, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Careful

Hey, just dropping by to say you might want to be a little less trigger happy with your A1s/A3s (no content and no context). I don't normally deal with them, but one crossed my path where you might have been a little hasty with the tag. In general, there's no harm in leaving it there for an hour or two to see if the creator does anything with it because if someone's first ever edit is deleted, they might not be so enthusiastic about returning. All the best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:20, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestion... ttonyb (talk) 20:44, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, regarding the Vanessa Hillman article, can you please define gnews and ghits? ThanksRWIR (talk) 05:41, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, Google hits and Google news hits. ttonyb (talk) 15:34, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Way back when we both created the Darrin McGillis page and now due to politics the page is on its way to being deleted. Why dont you chime in if you have a minute. Thanks--Dymo400 (talk) 05:57, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the page for Kevin Lau please be aware that Singapore news does get archived and taken off the net so its harder for Google to find. However if you go to http://newslink.asiaone.com/user/Login.act and search for Dr Kevin Lau he does come up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Donis1rap (talkcontribs) 07:21, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately each article has to be verifiable. Without news of other support, the article cannot meet the criteria for notability. BTW - the link you left is a dead link. ttonyb (talk) 14:27, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mason Cook

I hve worked very hard gathering information from the internet and Mason's official profiles to create the article Mason Cook, and I cannot understand why you deleted it.--ChildStarFanatic (talk) 09:24, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did not delete it, I nominated it for deletion, the nomination was reviewed by an admin, and then deleted by them. The article was deleted because it failed to show notability for the individual per WP:BIO or WP:ENT using reliable sources. Take a look at the articles and the Welcome message on your talk page and if you have any specific questions, please let me know. My best to you... ttonyb (talk) 17:00, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Leo Au Yeung

Hello Ttonyb1. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Leo Au Yeung, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. According to the article, he is the "only appointed Wing Chun instructor". Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 20:06, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks... ttonyb (talk) 20:20, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

oops - placed a hold on, if I did anything elso - sorry.--Degen Earthfast (talk) 23:27, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, I was in the process of leaving you a personal message and removing the template - I figured you "oops it" - when I saw your message. I assume you want the hangon tag reinstated? ttonyb (talk) 23:32, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding references and speedy deletion tag for VIASPACE

Hi, I saw that you adjusted many references in the article. I'm wondering what the difference is between the format you have used and the format I had originally used. Was my format incorrect? If so, what was incorrect? I ask because I see very little distinction between the original reference format that I used and the revised format that you created. I appreciate your help on this issue.

Also, how do I get the spam marked for speedy deletion tag removed. I added a "hangon" tag on the article, but it was removed by someone. Does this removal put my article at greater risk of being deleted before these reference and notibility issues are worked out? Should I retype the "hangon" tag into my VIASPACE article? CleanFuture (talk) 04:33, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The reason I changed the format was it allowed me to use Reflinks to combine multiple entries into single lines. Neither format is incorrect, but it was faster to use Reflinks to reformat them.
There is no need for a {{hangon}} tag, the article is not in danger of deletion. There still is some concern that the article is somewhat spam-like in nature. I would review the section on Spam, revise the article (if necessary), and list your response to the Spam tag in the talk page. At that point, either I or someone else will agree with you and remove it. My best to you. ttonyb (talk) 04:45, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
