Hey!

Hey! Just checking in. You'll never guess where I`m editing from. Which begs the question:Who am I? Finalius! (Talk, sign) 13:12, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Had a little wp:chu action, 2D? Tommy! [message]
Hmm... dffgd talk·edits 13:36, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. But my first question remains unanswered! And have you still considered changing your name? It might be a little dated next January. Finalius! (Talk, sign) 13:37, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Where are you editing from? And na, I decided against it. Tommy! [message]
Well, I was editing from my Wii console, but that got tedious. I'm going to try editing from my PS3 later. I just got wireless internet, as you may have just surmised.
BTW, I have a theoretical question, inspired by a previous editor's query of the mindset of vandals. What is the motivation of a section blanking/minor edit vandal? They drive me nuts! It's not interesting to see what they have to say, they just delete random paragraphs and charts, and I'm never sure if what they're doing has a point, or if I should warn them! Do you feel what I mean? Finalius! (Talk, sign) 13:58, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ignorance is bliss 2D. In other words, some people may not like what Wikipedia has to say (in accordance with WP:V at least) and thus remove that information. At least that's my logic. Tommy! [message] 14:00, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, yes. I see that you're busy, but one more thing: why are pages on Indian towns often edited by vandals (I think they are?) in ALLCAPS? Have you seen that too? Finalius! (Talk, sign) 14:05, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

() I think because their alphabet system is different and they just have a habit of writing in English in all caps. It's rather annoying. Tommy! [message] 14:11, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit to Nightmare

How is my edit a violation of the neutral point of view policy? The ratings were removed, so I added them back. Sources are present, so I'm confused as to why it's vandalism... 24.141.7.98 (talk) 20:37, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I saw your "fanboy" edit and thought that was in the actual article. I undid the edit and reworded it for other editors. Thanks for contributing. Tommy! [message] 20:41, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re the anon

I thought having 3 notifications for a single incident in which an editor had made a history of useful contributions up until that insignificant point in time was a little BITEy? :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 21:53, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That wasn't the point, yes I agree with you regarding the Biting with 3 warnings, however the point is you removed them with that logic which wasn't sound in my opinion. Tommy! [message] 22:00, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you mean that I should change my edit summary, fine, I'll use a clearer one next time. If you mean something else, I can't really imagine what to say. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 22:45, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes please, although I clarified it to the anon without a template. Tommy! [message] 22:48, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Eternal hell

"Anyone who does not float in this inundation is most condemned. Such a person cannot be delivered for millions of kalpas. PURPORT The kalpa is explained in the Bhagavad-gītā (8.17): sahasra-yuga-paryantam ahar yad brahmaṇo viduḥ. One day of Brahmā is called a kalpa. A yuga, or mahā-yuga, consists of 4,320,000 years, and one thousand such mahā-yugas constitute one kalpa. The author of Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta says that if one does not take advantage of the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, he cannot be delivered for millions of such kalpas."

8400000 kinds of material, eh? Tommy! [message] 14:28, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

USF page edit

Tommy, I believe that my edits are reliable sources, even the administrators for many of the buildings in different sections on campus know about the bonuses for the campus. There is nothing wrong with my posts in a sense. The only thing I can see wrong with it is that it is in the wrong area. But as a student, I am frustrated with the lies that this school has fed both me and others. You can keep editing and deleting it but there are many sources of proof of the Dean and other presidential staff members receiving their bonuses. If I left out the opinionated talk and placed it in a new section I can keep it, correct? I've seen far worse pages on wikipedia and I'm starting to think Wikipedia is paid to make sure that USF's page is kept secure and that no more students speak out the truth.

You can post the problems if you write them in an encyclopedic tone... that is, it should not read like someone venting or upset. It should also be referenced after every claim too; but not by an opinion column. WP:V is a cornerstone policy; a few upset people or "if they heard about it" doesn't count. Thank you Tommy! [message] 14:24, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) Also, as a student, you have a conflict of interest, so you have to be careful not to express opinions or write anything that a neutral editor would see as an opinion when editing that article. Perhaps... Funny thing, I'm going to USF for grad school. Tommy! [message] 14:27, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Tommy.

I'm going to write off my retirement as overreaction in a heated moment and try again. Wikipedia has been providing the help I need to shut this guy down and I have sysop rights at Eflightwiki.com after oh, about four years.  :) Thanks for your kind words and gesture. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:09, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

=D yay!!!! Tommy! [message] 15:10, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

True, but I reacted more to the "privacy issues" of that dingaling as opposed to the rapid-fire garbage he was spewing on the other wiki. That site has been extremely helpful as well. There are a lot of good users here. You are unquestionably one of the best. Thank you for being so kind. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:14, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciate the complements..yeah, I think I'll probably regret putting my picture on my user page... I'm sure ill replace it with a lower quality one ... eventually. Tommy! [message] 15:16, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting references

Hi, I've reviewed a few articles of yours for DYK today. I'd just like to suggest that you use the templates at WP:Citation templates to format your references neatly. You can see how I used those templates on your references for Candace Nelson and Geoffrey Zakarian. Keep those good articles coming! Yoninah (talk) 20:23, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Funny you say that, I always thought it was so complicated and i was looking at it earlier.. but I'll try :) Thanks for the link. Tommy! [message] 21:14, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ivory Wave

Any idea why you reverted the edit about the name, it is widely known as Ivory Wave? Seems odd. Phatwa (talk) 14:15, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since when is fighting the slander a vandalism?

Hi Tommy. I am not a vandal - my staff and I were falsly accused of theft so I protested against defamation and the wrong information on wiki. I don't have any interest of editing other wrong informations on The King's HEad Theatre web page, however I demand an apology from the user 82.153.42.101 who commited an illegal act of slander that affects the reputation of my staff and mine. How can I achieve that if you're warning me against fighting for my reputation? That edit was red by many people and potentional employees of mine and others who were accussed of theft!

Hi there. Please read WP:NOT. I was unsure how to go about notifying you regarding that edit, because you're right, it is not vandalism, but unconstructive. Thanks, Tommy! [message] 14:36, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It might be unconstructive for you - it is not your reputation that had been slandered. How can I be 'constructive' than?
If you wp:cite it and read wp:not, you should get an idea to keep it included in the article. Tommy! [message] 14:40, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Understood, thanks ;)

WPBATTLE - Reply

Hi there TOMMY, VASCO here,

regarding this message to my anon IP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:217.129.65.5#WP:BATTLE), i really cannot offer any more "excuses", just say this: i have NO tolerance for vandals and "wise" "users" who offer nothing to the site, and my frustration that this is allowed to happen will always (i'm afraid so) get the best of me, resulting in bad reactions.

I will always work like a horse to improve the site, but if my not complying with its rules result in a block or ban, then i guess it will happen because i deserved it. However, i long since quit assuming good faith, why should i do it? Besides, my only threats have been within the site's scope - page protection and/or blocks for "users" - i have never threatened anyone physically or legally. Insults? Yes i have done so, unfortunately. Funny enough, i was once told, in my previous anon address - i changed computer since - to "FUCK OFF" by another "user" after telling nothing aggressive to him (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:217.129.67.28&diff=215416027&oldid=212385732) and, from what i see, he did not get one single reprimand (here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:202.75.80.182), "interesting" to see that difference.

Again, sorry for any incoveniences in which i may have incurred, keep up the good work, from Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:08, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vasco. There will always be vandals, no matter what.. As Einstein said,
.
If it's too much, consider spending less time on here, as it can be a bit much at times. Tommy! [message] 16:11, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ivanhoe

Hello, Tommy, from the Eastern US.

How many years have I had an account at Wikipedia ? I mean, 'Welcome' ? How about you ? How long have you been here ? And what are you running from with a new moniker for the new year ?

As for Ivanhoe, I'm glad that you want articles written from a neutral point of view. So why is the 'historical accuracy' section so sloppily, relentlessly and determinedly negative ? It's a hash of nonsense. Scott ain't Shakespeare. But if he's to be criticised, that can be done legitimately on the points on which he can be criticised. There's no need for a farcical kangaroo court on 'historical accuracy'.

Regards,

Euan Ferguson

Yeah, I really don't feel like answering this now. See WP:NOT and WP:WEASEL words. Thanks Utah. Tommy! [message] 16:39, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I don't feel like reading yer block-cap links, neither, loss to me though it may be :-) Utah = Utahraptor. I get it. And yes, it was interesting to know that. Thank-you to you. Oh, and have fun, Tommy2010Blether (talk) 20:11, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the revert!

I saw the edit but didn't see what the page name was. Later looking for something in my contribs I saw that the user who made the edit was blocked. Looked what else he'd done and saw your warning. Mr. R00t Talk 23:10, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
