YOUR EYE IS PLAYING TRICKS ON YOU, THE COLOUR OF THE FONT IN THE HEADER IS THE SAME AS THE ONE IN THE LABEL!

If you learn something new...

  • Parasol literally means, "stop the sun" rather than rain. It is another word for umbrella.
  • Hawaii is the only state in the USA not to have a straight line border. It is also the only state with the Union Jack in it's flag.
  • The first advert broadcast on Channel 5 was Chanel No 5...and no, I didn't spell that wrong.
  • The minimum qualifying time for a man to enter the 100m at the Olympic Games is 10.28 seconds. Dring the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, 61 of the 80 athletes who entered did not make this time in the Heats.
  • 45% of the PIN numbers used for credit cards are the same number repeated three times (4444) or 4 consecutive numbers (1234).
  • I know how to use a shift key to type!
  • I share a birthday with Richard Wright R.I.P., who was born not far from where I live.
  • Despite David Beckham's apperance at the FIFA 2010 World Cup finals draw, he had no affect on England being drawn in Group C.
  • Approximately 14% of the population makes one or more New Year's resolutions. Approximately 98% of those resolutions are not kept for more than three weeks.[1]
  • More than a billion transistors are manufactured every second.[2] That is about four Intel Core 2 Duos a second.[3]
  • Replacing E for 3, 1 for I or L, 7 for L,T,S,R or I, 4 for H, 5 for S, and 8 for B. Does not make your password more secure. Nor does it make you 1337 or cool.

Oh and just so everyone knows. British inventions (which are not everyday objects) should be known by their originial British name, such Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone not Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. This goes true for every other nationality and objects surrounding it. Everything else and everyday objects goes by the American (United States) name, as this is an American encyclopedia and therefore should be named sulfur and not sulphur. See: Wikipedia:Naming conventions.

A sample of vandalisms on Wikipedia

Paul Merton [4]:
Paul Merton was polishing his front door handle when a tiger jumped on his back, he defeated the tiger Tarzan-style, but later that day met his demise due to chronic indigestion.

Shake It (Metro Station song) [5]:
Whoop Metro Station ROCKS :)

This was obviously written by a person who doesn't listen to decent music...or know what an encylopedia is!

Tim Minchin [6]
Tim Michim is yet another alter-ego of comic legend Leigh Francis. Looking alarmingly like the lovechild of The Cure frontman Robert Smith and Mick Hucknall, Leigh has been developing this character in the last few years since finishing the Bo! series. To add more depth to this interesting new departure, Francis has created the following "Biog" for Tim, which goes as follows...

I have bolded the grammatical and spelling mistakes. Four in three lines is terrible...

Rob Brydon [7]
He attended the Rob Brydon in Rob Brydon, but left to join Rob Brydon at the age of Rob Brydon without Rob Brydoning from the Rob Brydon. Rob Brydon's Rob Brydon began with Rob Brydon - his early Rob Brydons included Rob Brydon, when his Rob Brydons included Rob Brydons from Rob Brydon comedian Rob Brydon. Also on Rob Brydon - where he stayed for Rob Brydon, he was the Rob Brydon of Rob Brydon, one of Rob Brydon's Rob Brydon magazine and Rob Brydons, between Rob Brydon and Rob Brydon. Following this, in Rob Brydon and Rob Brydon, he Rob Brydon in Rob Brydon of the Rob Brydon version of the Rob Brydon show Rob Brydon with Rob Brydon.

Iron Maiden [8]
Genre = Glam Metal

Pearl Jam [9]
Eddie Vedder - Man-whore

Verklärte Nacht [10]
Erwin Schulhoff, Sex for Two Violins, Two Violas and Two Cellos, 1923 (classical)

How immature.
