:Sausa, you have done a fabulous job in salvaging this article and making it quite encyclopedic. You obviously have a much better grasp of what it takes to provide references of the type required by the editors, which I did not understand until more recently, and have been too busy to spend time working further on the article. Bravo to you and the other editors that have worked on this. [[User:Music43lover|Music43lover]] ([[User talk:Music43lover|talk]]) 01:00, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Article [1]

Hi Sausa, welcome to Wikipedia! I am assuming you are a brand new editor, but you seem to be doing very well! Thanks for all the work you have done so far. I am not sure where exactly you came across my name and decided to ask me for help, but of course I am ready to try to help you as much as I can. However, I must say that I am not expert on articles which are biographies of living people (BLPs), like this one, as I have only done a few of them over the years. I have never done one on a musician, and I have never taken any BLP up to a high level of excellence. At any rate, for what it's worth, I looked at the article and it does seem fairly good, although Wikipedia demands unusually high standards for BLPs as compared with other kinds of articles. Here are a few things you can do to improve the article:

1. Expand the introduction. You need to indicate up front why exactly this person is notable: you know, mention there that he has won several international prizes, or whatever other items are the most impressive things he has done. Also the intro is supposed to contain a brief summary of what is in the article, and thus it should be a couple of paragraphs long rather than just one sentence.

2. You need to remove any "peacock" words such as: "one of the most significant performers of his generation". If someone has written something like this in a published review, then you can quote that review. If not, then just leave it out. You need to prove this person is very significant by listing all his achievements rather than just stating that he is. That violates the wikipedia guideline Neutral Point of View.

3. The article has a fair number of wikilinks already, but I believe you may possibly be able to wikilink a lot more of the names of the other musicians. Try typing each name into the Wikipedia search slot and see if there is already an article for them. And the famous composer's and performers names can all be wikilinked for sure.

4. All titles of films and musical compositions need to be italicized.

5. You may want to see if you can back up the info in the "Educator" section with a citation.

As for the quality of the references, I have not checked them at all (partly because I am tired this evening and also because as I am not used to writing articles on musicians, so I am not clear as to what would constitute suitable references for this.) As I said, I am not an expert on this kind of piece, so maybe you can ask someone in WikiProject Classical music to take a look at the article? All good wishes to you, Invertzoo (talk) 22:19, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. I did just want to say that when you ask someone to help you with a "new" article, it is a good idea to explain up front that the article was put up in the mainspace 2 months ago, but was nominated for speedy deletion and then was placed on a user page in order to be worked on some more. That makes the situation a bit more complicated. Best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 22:27, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for all your suggestions!! Regards! Sausa11 (talk) 23:04, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
By the way i followed your suggestion and put some citation in the "Educator" section. I hope online sources are acceptable? I will think about intro section. Thanks!Sausa11 (talk) 23:32, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I provided some suggestions for improvement of User:Music43lover/Giorgi Latsabidze at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2010 September 17. If you need any help, feel free to ask me on my talk page. If you want to create a footnotes section, see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (footnotes)#Separating reference lists and explanatory notes for how to do so. Speedy deletion of Giorgi Latsabidze

Hello Sausa11, this is a message from an automated bot to inform you that the page you created on December 2 2010, Giorgi Latsabidze, has been marked for speedy deletion by User:Ohconfucius (page has mainspace links, and 4 edits). This has been done because the page is a blatant advert that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article (see CSD). If you think the tag was placed in error, please add "{{hangon}}" to the page text, and edit the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. If you have a question about this bot, please ask it at User talk:SDPatrolBot II. If you have a question for the user who tagged the article, see User talk:Ohconfucius. Thanks, - SDPatrolBot II (talk) on behalf of Ohconfucius (talk · contribs) 12:13, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Did what I could. Although a bit flowery, I thought the article was salvageable. Left a note for the reviewing admin to consider whether it fits G11. Dlohcierekim 18:24, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, it was at deletion review. Dlohcierekim 18:25, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

At deletion review? what do you mean? Do you think I can save this article? I am willing to rewrite it. If you could send a notice to ohconfucius would be great! I just need to know what makes him think it's promotional. I will just remove it. Sausa11 (talk) 18:28, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think you can stop cutting now unless someone else advised otherwise. Much leaner. More encyclopedic. Good job. Dlohcierekim 19:01, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In the notice above. Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2010 September 17 Dlohcierekim 19:02, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much! can you put the same comments on the talk page of the article, so that everyone can see you are supporting? I really want to get it survive. Sausa11 (talk) 19:09, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are very welcome. Just be sure to find as many reliable 3rd party sources as you can. Dlohcierekim 02:36, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Labsabidze

Just one thing, Did he actually start performing at age 3 in front of an audience or just playing piano at 3... an important distinction? Invertzoo (talk) 23:22, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, as far as I know he started playing piano playing at 3 (not in front of audience). I think his first public appearance was when he was 7 years old, but unfortunately I can't get enough evidence to proof it. Thanks! Sausa11 (talk) 23:51, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I changed the article to read that he started playing at 3. Invertzoo (talk) 01:11, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
