The Urban Legends Reference (http://snopes.com) is generally a reliable source, often cited on Wikipedia. However, in a series of pages, known as The Repository of Lost Legends (TROLL), the Snopes site spoofs itself. Among those pages is this one about KFC. The acronym TROLL is a clue that the pages in that particular section, including the KFC page, are not to be taken seriously. Please read their explanation before altering this article. In particular, note that Kentucky Fried Chicken did not change its name because Kentucky decided to trademark its name. |
This article was the subject of a proposed move in June 2006. The result of the discussion was no consensus. |
Buckethead: The Guitarist

Customers crowded into KFC restaurants in Central and all over the country looking for the free meal. Some stores ran out of chicken and others had lines so long people had to wait more than an hour for their food. Eyewitness News described the pandemonium as reflecting Detroit welfare lines.
