WWE Backlash is an annual WWE event, which started in 1999. As of 2004, Backlash became a RAW exclusive pay-per-view event. Backlash will often feature a rematch from WrestleMania, or a match based on events that took place at WrestleMania.

Triple H is the only wrestler to have competed at every Backlash event. He has a win-loss record of 3-4 to date.

This event was held on April 25, 1999 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. This was the last WWF PPV with the "In Your House" banner.
