== Judicial Independence Claim - no citation ==
Through lack of confidence, I have added a 'needs citation' tag to this claim, although Wikipedia rules suggest that I should actually remove it completely:
"He incurred the wrath of the dictator Idi Amin because of his judicial independence[citation needed] and was locked up for 90 days, three weeks after his marriage."
The 'needs citation' template says: "Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material about living persons should be removed immediately.". This is definitely unsourced, and Sentamu is definitely living. I have looked at the nearest citation (at the end of the paragraph), and the document makes no mention at all of this alleged exhibition of judicial independence.
Should the claim in fact be removed? [[User:Tsuchan|Tsuchan]] ([[User talk:Tsuchan|talk]]) 09:49, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Judicial Independence Claim - no citation

Through lack of confidence, I have added a 'needs citation' tag to this claim, although Wikipedia rules suggest that I should actually remove it completely: "He incurred the wrath of the dictator Idi Amin because of his judicial independence[citation needed] and was locked up for 90 days, three weeks after his marriage." The 'needs citation' template says: "Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material about living persons should be removed immediately.". This is definitely unsourced, and Sentamu is definitely living. I have looked at the nearest citation (at the end of the paragraph), and the document makes no mention at all of this alleged exhibition of judicial independence. Should the claim in fact be removed? First ethnic minority archbishop?

No. Theodore of Tarsus was a Greek and spoke no English when he was appointed to the See of Canterbury.

Gay issues?

Given that gay issues seem on the verge of splitting the church, is there a reason that there's no mention of him saying that 'homosexual practice' is incompatible with scripture or his opposition to gay marriage? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.93.226.146 (talk) 01:54, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all. You or someone else could add to the article his stance on this and other controversial issues.85.243.69.189 (talk) 02:31, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest addition of something akin to the following to the end of the 'Homosexuality' section:

'These remarks triggered protests on the steps of York Minster.[1]'

I have added British to nationality.

I think it is ridicules that was not included! He’s the Archbishop of York, fled to the UK and became a citizen.! But maybe, as this is the Church of England it should be English? --Τασουλα (Shalom!) (talk) 22:49, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
