Who is This Editor, Anyway?

I'm Dekyi. I began contributing to wiki sites right around "the turn of the century," 2000, when wikis were new. Wikipedia has been a great resource for many people. So as a good netizen, I pitch in with maintenance and development where I can.

I also attempt to bring balanced gender POV to articles I touch. Consider adding yourself to the WikiMedia List of WikiWomen, participating in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Countering systemic gender bias and adding the link to your user page... or collaborating with someone you find there. Men, you are just as welcome to collaborate on the CGB Project; gender bias impacts you, too. I enjoy collaborating and look forward to working with you! I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. Here are some Wikipedia basics you might find useful:

Be bold and respectful in editing pages.
Try the tutorial. If you have less time, try How to edit a page.
Always cite your source! or add citation request tags
Sign your comments and posts (e.g.: on talk pages, votes for deletion page, etc.)

Typing ~~~~ (four tildes) inserts your name and timestamp.
Three tildes ~~~ inserts just your name.
Link to your talk page by doing this... [[Talk:YOUR USER NAME|talk]]

Archive your long talk page
You can experiment in the test area.
You can get help at the Help Desk or Help:Contents or...

"My article is GONE!" It may have been deleted. There should have been a discussion prior to deletions: (Wikipedia:Archived deletion discussions). If your article is currently tagged for deletion and you disagree, you can put the Hangon template on the page, to require a discussion before anyone deletes it. Your best bet is to learn how to create a solid article, that can't be tagged for speedy deletion. Then learn to advocate for your articles, if necessary.
