Julio cesar Chaves is the best pound 4 pound ever in boxing history.
Why no entry in the International Hall of Fame for Chavez?
I was just browsing thru the international hall of fame list... searching around for familiar names from Mexico and the Philippines (like Flash Elorde and Pancho Villa).
Chavez' record is pretty impressive, and yet he hasnt been inducted to the Hall of Fame. Why?
Chavez not eligible for induction until 2011
The Boxing Hall of Fame only inducts fighters who have been inactive for five years. Chavez's most recent fight was September 17, 2005. Therefore, he will not be eligible until the inductions in 2011 (assuming he doesn't fight again). -JaneFurrows 03:08, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
I've been following Chavez's career for the last twenty years. To my knowledge, he's never lost - or fought, for that matter - a boxer by the name of Richard Cruz.
"El León de Culiacán" nickname is not the best known nickname for Julio.
Julio César Chávez's best known knickname is " El César del Boxeo" (Boxing's Caesar), a clearly reference to Julius Caesar, the Roman Emperor, and to Chavez's royal status in Boxing ( Ancient Rome Emperors were called "Caesar". )Elkidkid 06:54, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
As an American boxing fan, I'm much more familiar with the nickname "El León de Culiacán" than any of Chavez' other nicknames (except for maybe "JC", but that's like saying Baseball's Pedro Martinez' most well-known nickname is "Pedro"). I also see that "The Lion of Culiacan" [sic] is listed as one of his nicknames, and it's cited, but the cite goes to an empty blog. It should be changed to "El León de Culiacán": a simple google search, in quotations, for "El León de Culiacán" will give only about three pages of results, but all virtually unanimous in their references of Julio César Chávez. Is it his "best known" nickname? No. But it most certainly is popular enough to warrant inclusion on this page. Jimmycolorado (talk) 20:41, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
== Chavez vs Camacho was one of the most important fights in Chavez's career == (also, Chavez was a big wimp, he paid many of the opponent to let him win)
Yet, in the article, it is treated as just a preliminary before the fight in The Aztec Stadium.Elkidkid 06:59, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
The record keeping is terrible
His fight arent in order... ther half of them missing and we dont have 1-0 2-0 stats keeping thing. Please someone fix this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GSP-Rush (talk • contribs) 15:00, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
