We will be adding more content to it today so it contains much more info. We changed his name from Francesco Rossi (DJ) to Francesco Rossi (DJ & Producer) by creating a new page. I have added a re-direct to the page Francesco Rossi (DJ) but wondered if you could just delete this page to avoid confusion? Thanks

Article Entry: R Lang & Associates

Firstly, the article entry for the company R Lang & Associates was prompted by Wikipedia after I already pre-submitted the information via email. From your email reply: ".. If you have already prepared material for the entry, you can create it yourself if you have an account. Simply type in the title of the entry into the search bar. If no articles with such a title exist, you will be given the option of creating it or requesting it at the page mentioned above. Follow the appropriate link, and you will be greeted with a form allowing you to create the entry." I did not have a chance to reply to your act of "Speedy Deletion" (!?) I do not understand your phrasing "unambiguous advertising". It does not advertise nor promote product brands. The article describes a company and a significant person within it. It is not meant (nor written) as an autobiography. It is intended as objectively as possible. Patent engineering can only be an objective trade. After reviewing quite a few entries in Wikipedia, it is observed that it is only comparable to others. (i.e., there is nothing "outlandish" about it). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robertjlang (talkcontribs) 20:31, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:FIRST, WP:ORG for more information and how to create an article. Karl 334 Talk--Contribs 20:38, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
User Robertjlang RESPONDS:

Pre-Note: I changed the mode of the article entry to User Pages, creating a Sub Page for the entry 'User:Robertjlang/R Lang & Associates' before introducing it online live to Wikipedia. Here it can reside while it is in the 'Talk' stages. The article maintains objectivity because it describes a company, and is referenced to Dun & Bradstreet. The main activity described is patent engineering, which is an objective trade. The person cited within the article (Robert Lang) who is the company manager, is merely carrying out the duties of the company. He is not trying to solicit, demonstrate, advertise, nor run a popularity contest. The contributor of the article, also Robert J. Lang, is subject to the influence of all other people and entities mentioned in the article. In such case, Robert Lang is merely the messenger of the article. (Not somebody thinking of only their own interests). Further, Robert Lang is quite trained to objectively approach subject matter, even his own company. He is an engineer. He has also become a doctor. Others regard him as the equivalent to a lawyer. If you are having difficulties understanding organizations, such as small but notable enterprises, you should pass this information to other members of the Wikipedia team. If you think it is approaching a biography of a living person (but a living company instead - with a living person within it), then you could be having category issues with the article, and you should consult your team members for this reason too. (ROBERT J LANG) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robertjlang (talkcontribs) 18:57, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't care what your qualifications are or what your company does, if it does not meet the notability standards listed in the above articles it won't stay on Wikipedia. Simple as that. Also if you work for the company you are still in violation of Wikipedia's Conflict of Interest rules. Karl 334 Talk--Contribs 20:07, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You have acted rightly about this material. As reviewing administrator, I have deleted an attempt at resubmitting it in AfC , and also the copy in user space, and given the ed. a warning about using WP for promotion. If you should happen to see another attempt, please let me know on my talk p. (BTW, he was referring in his first message to you to WP:OTRS--where we receive such outside email. I'm one of the volunteers answering such mail there, and it's our regular practice when someone asks about creating an article for themselves or their firm, to simply refer them to the article creation wizard, which places the article at AfC . We do not there pass judgment on the suitability of the proposed article, but leave it to AfC . So his entering the article there was not really COI, but the procedure for what people with COI should do. But of course what he wrote was thoroughly unsatisfactory, both as promotion and as unverified controversial claims. DGG ( talk ) 17:53, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Karl.

My amendments are based on the changes made at the Annual General Meeting of Canning House in November 2012. I am the person in charge of Canning House's Director General's Office and I was the Minute-taker. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PilarSocarras (talkcontribs) 10:34, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We still require a reliable source that has been published to prove that change. You could be Charles Wickes himself and I still would have reverted it without a source. Also please read our conflict of interest guide.Karl 334 Talk--Contribs 14:03, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Editor's Barnstar
Hello thank you for welcoming me to wikipedia. I am still a bit new at this. I will add sources to my article as you suggested. However, this might take some time. SkinnyWhiteThug (talk) 16:02, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Visa requirments of Armenian citizens,

Karl, this is Mafioz123. Yu deleted my contribution on visa requirements for armenian citizens, it was a mistake. Redo it, because this is very important. When citizens of armenian land in TRNC they are jailed and then deported because publicly there is no information provided on that matter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mafioz123 (talkcontribs) 07:25, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies.

Sorry Karl I thought you undid a whole paragraph of contribution is had made. If you were talking from my first edit, it was a mistake with lack of information. I had no idea that wiki can be edited, so thank you for undoing it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mafioz123 (talkcontribs) 07:33, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I added spam to the reason for deletion - just wondering why you didn't. Blatant. Always helps when there is a vague sense of notability. Peridon (talk) 19:53, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Figured it would be enough under A7, but the more criteria the better i guess. Karl 334 Talk--Contribs 20:04, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Randy Kamp's Page

Karl 334. The edits I made to Randy Kamp's page came directly from his Member of Parliament website which is updated far more frequently than the Conservative Party of Canada website. Please accept these changes as authentic. Daviswfriesen (talk) 16:17, 6 May 2013 (UTC)DaviswfriesenDaviswfriesen (talk) 16:17, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Horse shampoo

You !voted Delete at WP:Articles for deletion/Horse shampoo, calling the article a possible hoax. Another editor recreated the article which was then deleted as a WP:CSD#G4. However, since at least one product (Mane 'n Tail) claims that this was the exact genesis of their product (a shampoo originally intended for horses being discovered and popularized among people, and thence becoming a product marketed primarily to people (but still for horses!)), would you change your mind about the hoax aspect of the article? I ask because I have extensively rewritten the reposted article, and am wondering if it is worth my effort to reintroduce it. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:54, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I withdraw my hoax comment. If the article is re-written so it doesn't sound like a advert (G11) You can go ahead and repost. Karl 334 Talk--Contribs 15:08, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mistake

You made a mistake. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mj12hoaxwriter (talkcontribs) 21:10, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your use of weasel words was the reason I reverted it. The article was fine as is. Karl 334 Talk--Contribs 21:18, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Are you referring to the attribution to skeptics or the use of "hoaxes" as a category? Mj12hoaxwriter (talk) 21:29, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The attribution to skeptics. Karl 334 Talk--Contribs 21:38, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK, removed it.Mj12hoaxwriter (talk) 21:44, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think there is enough assertion of importance there to pass the low bar of A7, so I have reverted to the version with a BLP-prod. Depending on what references are produced, this may be something for AfD. JohnCD (talk) 20:03, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion contested: IM creator

Hello Karl 334, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of IM creator, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. smtchahaltalk 01:47, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The page was significantly different when I tagged it for deletion. I know the criteria. Next time a short note would suffice. WP:DTR Karl 334 Talk--Contribs 15:57, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article Draft

Hi Karl 334, I want to create an Article draft on a movie (Adopting Terror 2012 film). There is a wiki article about that on a french wikipedia http://fr.wikipedia.org/. Would I be able to create an English version or would I not be able to since there is already an article on that written in French?

thanks, Robert (talk) 16:23, 25 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Karl 334/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
