1969 Atlanta Pop Festival -- Grand Funk Was There

I was present at the 1969 Atlanta Pop Festival. Grand Funk Railroad was there and did perform live on stage. The memory is a vivid one. Whoever included the statement that GFR was not there in 1969 is incorrect. Slidhome (talk) 20:55, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okeefenokee Swamp

My family is from this swamp in Northern Florida, near the Georgia line. The back ground that I have always been taught for the residents in this swamp were always of Creek blood lines. They were Native Americans that come from a band called the Red Sticks, and Scotch-Irish.My grandma was born and raised there along with her brother and cousins. The small museum there contains some records and pictures of my family.I am from Jax.,Fla.Northern part of Jax.I hope this gives you some in-site from a direct decendent.Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.228.5.209 (talk) 20:47, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress

Hi all, I've started a discussion at Template talk:Georgia#Requested move about renaming select templates related to your Georgia and the other one. I hope you'll share your opinion. --BDD (talk) 17:53, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Photo request categories

In Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Georgia (U.S. state) there are 150 county sub-categories most of which only have one or two image requests in them. As it is now possible to map these requests on google map is there any advantage to having this organisation? If I suggest moving request up into the state category in any county categories with less than 10 requests, would anyone object? --Traveler100 (talk) 12:23, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Proposal for the University of Georgia

Hello all,

I have started a proposal for a WikiProject for the University of Georgia. The UGA article and all related pages including Georgia Bulldogs is in need of much improvement and expansion. If you're interested in joining, please add your name to the supporter list. The University of Florida started it's own WikiProject and that gave me the idea. There is much work to be done! Your support and attention is much needed and much appreciated!

Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. DMB112 (talk) 18:15, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unhelpful editing at DeKalb County School District

I notice this user does repeated unhelpful editing by changing "school district" to "school system" even if some links break, because he/she considers the name change illegitimate WhisperToMe (talk) 05:00, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lakeside, Georgia

There's an article about Lakeside, Georgia that no one has bothered. Anyone able to expand it?? Georgia guy (talk) 23:18, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Am I reading it right, it's a city that doesn't exist on any level with only a single source of questionable reliability giving any coverage to a group of people who would like it to be a city? I don't see that there's really anything to expand, and it honestly looks like a case of WP:TOOSOON. - SudoGhost 23:31, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well then, please expand it by finding additional sources to look up information. Georgia guy (talk) 23:42, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I looked before I commented, and I'm honestly not seeing any evidence that this article's subject exists at all, even as an proposition of any real substance. - SudoGhost 23:47, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I added a source that is very reliable. Georgia guy (talk) 23:53, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
A wordpress blog is not a reliable source, and all that verifies is that someone would like the city to exist, not that it has any chance of doing so or that the desire to have it become a city is notable in any way. - SudoGhost 23:56, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What's the difference between Lakeside and what Brookhaven was until late 2012 (or I should say mid-2012, because it was in the summer when it was made official the Brookhaven was going to become a city)?? Georgia guy (talk) 00:16, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The biggest difference is that Brookhaven was being discussed by reliable sources before it became a city. Unless reliable third-party sources can show that this proposed city has any notability, I think it would be better to redirect it to the county's article. I don't doubt that there are individuals that want it to become a city, and it may one day become a city, but that desire to create a city doesn't appear to be notable enough to mention it on Wikipedia, especially in a standalone article. - SudoGhost 00:26, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can somebody take a photo? Seems to be relatively easy to anyone who is in Savannah. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 15:32, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed move for the state article

Please see the "Washington and Georgia" section of WP:VPR. I've proposed synchronizing this article's title with Washington (state), either by moving this article to Georgia (state) or by moving the other one to Washington (U.S. state). I don't care which we do, but I think that it would be good for the two to use the same method of disambiguation. Nyttend (talk) 16:12, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Frederick Mapp

Dr. Mapp was Chairman of the Biology Department not the Mathematics Department.
