Why did you remove all references to the group's US label, Qwest/Reprise/Warner Bros. Records? == Revived interest in Infernal Affairs ==

Invitation to participate in the poll for Infernal Affairs.

From your edits for the film Infernal Affairs there is presently a poll taking place on The Departed film Talk page regarding whether you believe a separate subsection should be included for (a) Infernal Affairs as a source for the plot of The Departed film, and/or (b) a second subsection for the recently captured crime figure Whitey Bulger as the source for the character played by Jack Nicholson in the film.

The recent capture of Bulger has revived the question from two years ago of Infernal Affairs from when it did have a separate subsection on The Departed film page which was deleted by User:RepublicanJ, now known as User:OldJ. Invite to visit The Departed Talk page, to the Bulger section at the end of the Page, to participate in the Poll currently taking place. McCartney

There are 4 links on the McCartney page that refer to "Macca." One doesn't even refer to McCartney by name. Newspapers and music magazines often refer to Macca in their headlines. So how is this not a recognized nickname/alias for Paul? Thanks! NjtoTX (talk) 23:33, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not too sure but I do believe his nickname is "Macca." There are sources out there that support this. TheOnlyOne12 (talk) 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Regarding edits like this and this: just so you know, Wikipedia has a guideline explaining that it is usually not necessary to "fix" links that go through redirect pages. rʨanaɢ (talk) 01:10, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why you reverted Amandajm. She is right. Axl ¤ [Talk] 08:43, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I have been informed that the British English convention denotes an individual band as plural. Axl ¤ [Talk] 09:06, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Killers Discography

Can you point me to the policy/guideline/MOS that states that only studio albums should be listed in band discography sections? I have heard this a few times, but I thought that compilation albums could be listed as long as they were labelled as such. I tried doing some searching on it, but couldn't find anything specifically discussing that issue. Thanks! Angryapathy (talk) 18:53, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can understand why most discography sections within articles only contain studio albums, especially for bands with long histories and numerous releases. But a band like The Killers, who have thus far only released 3 studio albums (soon to be 4), I don't see the harm in including a compilation album that charted well and received good reviews in the discography section, especially considering it constitutes 1/5 of their albums released. Muse

Hi, i got a question: Whats wrong with you? i've brought enough sources to put progressive metal in the infobox and now you say that it needs to be discussed, maybe you haven't looked up but when i went to the talkpage i found that it was already discussed and the consensus was to keep it there, that was more than a year ago, even more, i found out that the user "Y2kcrazyjoker4" was aware of this, he is just pretending he doesn't, don't let him fool you.

Here is what i'm talking about: [1] he participated in the discussion, he was aware all the time, he is being clearly uncivil. Invited (talk) 02:00, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My Sweet Lord

Hi TheOnlyOne12. Rather than get into some edit war over the issue in this article's infobox, I thought it would be better if I took it up with you here. My point about reverting your change was that yes, "George Harrison" appears in the heading, but I can't see that linking the first mention below that is overlinking. It's a visual thing: I think it's quite easy to miss/ignore the artist's name in the heading, so I feel the link is needed at first mention in the actual infobox text. But also, if you think that's over-linking, why have you stopped there? Shouldn't later headings within the infobox that contain the words "George Harrison" and "All Things Must Pass" have their links removed, to be consistent with your approach? (I hope not.) Also, I've got a few Harrison song and album articles up to GA now, and/or a couple were successfully nominated on my behalf, and the same approach (linked name for first appearance of Harrison's name in the infobox) appears in all of them, and in probably over 50 other Harrison articles I've worked on. Are you going to change all of them too? JG66 (talk) 23:31, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi TheOnlyOne12. Thanks for your reply. I take your point about overlinking – one of the things I've tried to do since starting on Harrison articles early this year is remove a link from each and every mention of his name in infoboxes, i.e. when he's both writer and producer. You point to the "Imagine" example, but other Lennon songs I notice go in the other direction, by either having each mention of his name linked, or just the one (as I'm suggesting): Mother, Power, Woman Is the ..., Mind Games, etc. It seems that Dylan singles do the same: Rolling Stone, Tangled. I don't know, I guess it's all subjective – personally, my eye never settles on the artist's name at the top of an infobox, I'm always drawn to the contents below the heading, so I'd expect to see a link at first mention there. We'd best agree to disagree on this (!). I'll leave My Sweet Lord as it is if you're wedded to the idea, but I can't promise that in months to come – I often revisit articles to add new info/refs or undo vandalism – I won't end up reinstating the link, having forgotten our conversation. Adele

Hello there. I notice that you reverted my edit here with the explanation "MoS". I'm unclear what that refers to specifically. I know you're talking about WP:Manual of Style, but what specific entry precludes the use of the term "singer-songwriter"? Thanks. Orane (talk) 07:16, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Verve

Hi, I just wanted to raise a quick point about the removal of Greater Manchester from the article. It is my understanding that county is included when providing a geographical description of a town or city. If I am mistaken about this then apologies and we can revert back to just mentioning Wigan. Happy editing !

Comedown Machine

Hey, I'm just trying to do the same and maintain it. You deleted the # of weeks column. It appears monotonous now because it's the first week of release, but it becomes rather interesting as you'll see on the page for Angles. Thanks! -- EGorodetsky (talk) 08:20, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
