Henry Hugglemonster is an animated preschool show produced by Spiffy Pictures. It is based on the book "I’m a Happy Hugglewug" created and illustrated by Niamh Sharkey.[2] It first premiered on April 15, 2013 on Disney Junior with a pilot episode that aired on April 5.

Premise

The series revolves around the daily life of Henry Hugglemonster and his slightly chaotic but loving family, living in the suburban town of Roarsville. Everyone in Roarsville is a friendly, fun-loving monster. Sometimes, Henry's experiences with his family, including loving Momma, silly Daddo, smart Cobby and diva Summer, as well as his many friends, lead to problems. So, Henry must use his problem-solving skills to try and find a way to solve the problems and conflicts he is presented with in his daily life. Every episode features one or more original songs, as well. The show can be beneficial to young children as it does not only encourage children to think creatively and build problem-solving skills, but it can also help children overcome any fears of monsters that they have.

Characters

Hugglemonster family

Henry Hugglemonster, the protagonist of the series. Very helpful, playful, and happy, Henry always finds a way to help others whenever something goes wrong. He's got a really loud roar, as well! He is 5 years old. He, like many characters on the series, uses "roarsome" instead of "awesome." In the episode "Once Upon A Roar," his middle name was revealed to be Alfonso. Played by Lara Jill Miller.

Daddo Hugglemonster, the father of the family. He's funny, although he has a very loud snore. His favorite hobby is huggle-juggling! Played by Tom Kenny.

Momma Hugglemonster, the mother of the family. She was originally the lead singer of a band called Grr Power. She gives piano lessons and is a member in a book club. Played by Lori Alan.

Cobby Hugglemonster, the oldest of the four children and Henry's older brother. He's a brilliant inventor and has a hobby of making gadgets. He is very caring, because he helps with problems and apologizes to his siblings or friends for doing the wrong thing. He is 7 years old. Played by Chiara Zanni.

Summer Hugglemonster, the only daughter, and second eldest of the family, and Henry's older sister. She sings and dances almost everywhere she goes. She wears pink shoes throughout the entire series as well as a yellow bow, although she takes off the shoes when she's swimming. She dresses up, is very loud, and often gets upset and overacts when things are hopeless. She also hates disappointing her fans. She is 6 years old. Played by Hynden Walch.

Ivor Hugglemonster, the youngest of the four children and Henry's baby brother. He can't talk properly yet and he doesn't like loud noises. He is really playful. He's often seen carried by his mother or father. His facial expresses changes to a frown when there is something wrong or when his relatives get upset. He wears orange pajamas no matter what time of day it is. His baby noises are made by Kari Wahlgren.

Grando Hugglemonster, the children's grandfather and Nan-Oh's husband. Played by Tom Kenny.

Nan-Oh Hugglemonster, the children's grandmother and Grando's wife. Played by Grey DeLisle.

Beckett, the family's pet monster dog. He loves to play and enjoy his time with the children, like real dogs.

Harry Hugglemonster, Henry's four armed cousin. He is young, curious, but hyper and a bit annoying to Henry. He was described, by Henry, as "my younger, more annoying cousin...who follows me around and tells bad jokes." He is introduced, along with Auntie Dee and Uncle Dexter, in "Huggsgiving Day." He is 4 years old.

Auntie Dee, the kids' aunt who is Harry's mother. Like her son Harry, she has four arms.

Uncle Dexter, the kids' uncle who is Harry's father. Like his son Harry, he has four arms.

Friends and Neighbors

Denzel Dugglemonster, Henry's best friend. He loves to dig complex tunnels and have fun with Henry. He is a little taller than Henry. He has a pet dog named Gurgler. Denzel has a hidden talent---he can make the balls on the tips of his horns light up. His catchphrase is "grr-ocious," which is a pun on "grr" and "ferocious." Played by Cree Summer.

Mr. and Mrs. Dugglemonster, Denzel's parents. Although the mother's name is Maud, the father's is still unknown.

Gertie Growlerstien, one of Henry's friends. She is very calculated with time and has great perception with numbers. She has a pet bird named Sneezo. Played by Grey DeLisle. Sneezo's sounds are provided by Tom Kenny.

Mr. and Mrs. Growlerstien, Gertie's parents. Played by Tom Kenny and Hynden Walch, respectively.

Milo Growlerstien, Gertie's little brother. Played by Hynden Walch.

Estelle Enormomonster, one of Henry's friends and largest of the group. Estelle is very energetic, and loves to play Enormo-Ball and huggleball. She has a pet dog named Flopster. Played by Grey DeLisle.

Isabella Roarson, a singer who Summer is a big fan of. She wears sparkled red heels, a sparkled golden bow, and a sparkled golden tutu. Played by guest star Geri Halliwell.

Eduardo and Ernestine Enormomonster, Estelle's parents and the largest monsters in Roarsville. Eduardo is played by Brian Blessed while Ernestine is played by Brenda Blethyn.

Meg, another one of Henry's friends and Summer and Gertie's best friend. She is very cheerful and lovable, and likes to hang out with Roberto sometimes. Played by Grey DeLisle.

Matilda, Meg's mother. She was, when she was young, in the band Grr Power. She teaches music, and is also the town photographer.

Roddy Cloudmonster, a new monsterkid who appears in the episode "New Monsterkid on the Block." He is a cloudmonster who just moved in. Roddy has the power to create his own personal clouds. He has a very long tail. He acted like a bully and was being troublesome, but after, the monster kids stood up to him. This made him sad. After, Henry showed him how to be kind to the other monsters, and they made friends with him.

Signor Roartonio, the chef in Roarsville who owns a fancy restaurant. His name is a pun on the name Antonio. He's probably Italian, seeing as he peppers his sentences with Italian words sometimes.

Roberto, one of Henry's friends who might be related to Signor Roartonio. Roberto copied Henry when creating his "Roaring Racer" car in the episode "The Copymonster." He often hangs out with Meg. Played by Grey DeLisle.

Officer Higgins, Roarsville's very own police officer who knows what's right.

Oscar, Cobby's friend who likes outer space and Astrobrix just like him.
