Gwinnett County, Georgia, U.S.

In Gwinnett County, along Five Forks Trickum Rd., near Martin Nash Rd., young males driving alone will have a wheel come off their car and a Gwinnett County Police officer in a GCPD car will show up and ask the male if he has any 'enemies' due to someone loosened all of the lug nuts on the wheel. This used to happen during the 1980s once every few months or years.

Possible way to improve?

Hello, I picked up this article from a list of articles needing editing. I started but I wondered if it would be easier if a comment at the beginning of the list made it clear that all the items are 'alleged' or 'reported', ie subjective experiences. I won't do any more unless there is a consensus. Let me know if I can help. Regards, Myrtle. Myrtlegroggins (talk) 07:57, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately this and other 'reportedly haunted' list articles are magnets for unreliably sourced WP:PROFRINGE nonsense. A disclaimer in the lead isn't a replacement for each entry being described neutrally and sourced to reliable independent sources. - LuckyLouie (talk) 14:00, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I think I'll leave well alone because it is too tricky to edit the syntax with all the "allegedly" this and "reportedly" that maintained in each paragraph. I am neutral on the subject itself. I think it could be presented if it was made clear it was folk lore. On the other hand, WP is not a tour guide. Kind regards, Myrtle Myrtlegroggins (talk) 06:44, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Indiana list article?

Indiana is like one of the most haunted states in the U.S. There's OVER 50 BUILDINGS that are haunted in my county in Indiana. There's ABOUT 80 cemeteries that are haunted too. Not only those, but OVER 45 BRIDGES are haunted.HurricaneGonzalo (talk) 12:36, 6 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

ONUnicornMany sources. Such as one about the Big Tunnel in Tunnelton, Indiana. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.225.218.37 (talk) 17:49, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I just went through and removed all unsourced entries from the list, and made a few other cleanups to it. Among the things that I removed as unsourced were several that were actually kind of sourced in an improper way, namely by an assertion that, "X has been featured episodes of Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures."

Adding that sentence to the end does not satisfy sourcing requirements embodied in the pillar of verifiability. It does not tell the reader which episode of the show in question to watch to verify that X is, indeed, reported to be haunted. Moreover, those shows don't just visit random locations to determine if they are haunted; the places those shows visit already have a reputation for being haunted. Therefore I would prefer to see published material cited alongside a citation to the show.

An appropriate way to cite a show like that would be to use the {{Cite episode}} template. At a bare minimum, we need not just the name of the show, but also the name or number of the episode where the location is featured. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 18:16, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think this list should be confined to entries on locations that have a Wikipedia article written about them. I am moving entries that are sourced by apparently reliable sources but that don't have articles about them to a talk subpage. That way if, in the future someone writes an article about, say, Harrison Cemetery in Coffee County Alabama, we can move the entry back over source and all. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 16:14, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
