Hi I was wondering if I could keep the Brogster up just for a while. I was proving a point to my famiy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.78.101.178 (talk) 00:33, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You should review Wikipedia's behavioral guideline: Do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point. This is not allowed. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:38, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

there you go, watch the video. then maybe you can add the edit, now it has been verified by jordan herself? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bangerhanger (talkcontribs) 01:20, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I highly recommend that you review Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy, and Wikipedia's reliable sources policy. These will answer your questions and assist you. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:24, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Jordan Raskopuolous. Transgender, citation included

it was removed again even though the direct link to her coming out video was included. Why? https://www.facebook.com/AxisOfAwesome/?fref=ts

Bangerhanger (talk) 01:34, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oshwah, Jordan HERSELF is in the video talking about her transition. Did you even watch it? Its called 'whats happened to jordans beard' here is the link https://www.facebook.com/AxisOfAwesome/?fref=ts

Jordan is a very good friend of mine and im trying to support her. Please watch the video and see for yourself?

Bangerhanger (talk) 01:36, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bangerhanger - See my previous response. You need to review Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy, and Wikipedia's reliable sources policy. These will answer your questions and assist you. I also see that you've just indicated that you claim to know Jordan Raskopoulos personally. This represents a conflict of interest. Editing articles where you have a conflict of interest is very discouraged behavior on Wikipedia. It removes your ability to edit the article in a neutral point of view. You indicated that you're editing the article because you're "trying to support her" - this is not neutral. Please read the Wikipedia policies I've cited, and let me know if you have any more questions. Putting the content back on the article repeatedly without discussing it first can constitute edit warring, which can get you blocked. Before doing so, start a discussion on the article's talk page. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:41, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nina Czegledy edit

Hi Oshwah, I have been doing some minor edits to help correct this page for new media artist Nina Czegledy. I have noticed that some of this information is incorrect, and I am starting to correct portions of this page as I go. Her inclusion as an article is important as she is an important Canadian digital and new media artist. I am not convinced that the 'flight from Hungary' text is useful or relevant. She has made some documentary films (for example see here: https://isea2011.sabanciuniv.edu/.czegledy) so that is relevant enough to remain. But you are right, I should have included some explanatory text along with the edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cargill208 (talkcontribs)

Hi, Cargill208! Thanks for leaving me a message here. The reason that I revered [your https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nina%20Czegledy&diff=705010353 edit] to Nina Czegledy was because you did not explain why you removed the content using the edit summary. When making major edits to articles, it's important that you explain each one using the edit summary. This helps other reviewers and editors understand what you're doing and why. If you do this, you should be good to go. Please let me know if you have any more questions or if you need assistance. Happy editing, and welcome! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:33, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Topic bans on user pages

I thought topic bans also applied to user talk pages, per WP:TBAN; that is, a topic ban includes not just articles but discussions or suggestions about weather-related topics anywhere on Wikipedia, for instance a deletion discussion concerning an article about a meteorologist, but also including edit summaries and the user's own user and talk pages (including sandboxes). 99.236.126.9 (talk) 02:00, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So I reviewed the policy again after our previous discussion. You are correct. I redacted my response in that earlier conversation with you on the enforcement page - I said that it only applies to article and article talk; that was not correct. However, I think he was discussing more-so his declined appeal than the subject of longevity. If you still feel that this is a violation, you can create a new discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' Noticeboard/Incidents or Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement (just make sure that you follow the instructions this time ;-) - you added discussion to the end of a closed thread). However, I don't think that it will result in action (but this is just my opinion). Hope this helps :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:21, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There's another IP involved who posted on the AE page. The editor in question has continued to post on the topic and replaced that post after it was removed as a violation, which I think are also violations of the topic ban. I would file an AE action but the page says I can't as an IP. 99.236.126.9 (talk) 20:07, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, 99.236.126.9 - You can create a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' Noticeboard/Incidents if you feel that there are topic ban violations or behavioral issues that are occurring. You don't have to have an account to express your concerns there. Just be sure to provide clear evidence as to what is being violated, and why you believe it to be a violation. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers -- ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:12, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, 142.162.117.51. I appreciate you for providing the article that discusses the sex scandal, but I also believe that the content you added has issues with Wikipedia's policy of adhering to a neutral point of view. The content you added gives undue weight to the sex scandal and what makes the person notable. It can be read as an unnecessary bias, which is something that must be removed/fixed as much as possible. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:29, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Could you revert my edit?

Hi. I believe that my edit was completely true. An edit should be constructive, have nothing false, and have more information than the previous version, correct? My edit was all three of these things. Therefore you should revert my edit.

Beverly Gray edits

Trying to figure out what reason you had for removing so much material? You said "rv addition of incomplete sentence," then declared the deletion of nearly half the wiki a "minor edit." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Usernameunique (talkcontribs) 03:37, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Usernameunique. It was because of this edit, but I didn't realize that you're the only contributor to pretty much the entire article, so the software rolled back all of your changes instead of just the previous one. It looks like you've already fixed the issue, so there's nothing more to do there. I apologize for the mistake. Please let me know if you need anything else. I'll be happy to assist you. Inaccurate Soca music information on Wikipedia

Hello my real name is Ian Henry and I am based in London.

I am originally from Trinidad & Tobago and have done a lot of research on soca music starting from the mid 1980's. I was also born in 1962 and so grew up in T&T when soca music was created and gradually became the popular musical sound track of carnival during the late 1970’s.

During the course of my research I have collected most of the calypso and soca recordings from the main soca pioneers (Shorty, Maestro, Ed Watson, Pelham Goddard, Shadow and others). I regard myself as an expert on the music of Lord Shorty as I have a collection of all his albums and most of his singles from 1972 till his death from bone-marrow cancer in 2000. I also interviewed Shorty with his family in Piparo in Trinidad in 1992 when he was alive that was even before Harold Pysadee did his 1995 interview with Shorty for Culture Share which is now uploaded to YouTube.

I noticed some gross errors and misinformation about soca pioneers Shorty and Maestro in the Soca music article a while ago and decided it was time to take the time to correct the misinformation to make the info more accurate especially regards to timelines for releases and events mentioned.

I've noticed that you stated that my information and corrections was biased so you removed them. I've also noticed that one of the links that was cited for some of the wrong information that I spotted was cited to socawarriors.net to a discussion thread that is dealing with some other topic that has nothing to do with soca music.

Can you state exactly what information that I posted that you regard as biased as I know for sure that all of the information that I have posted on Shorty and Maestro is dead accurate and has been and can be verified.

I can tell you for starters that the late Maestro did not have a house or live in Dominica as currently stated in the Wikipedia information on Soca music; Maestro’s house was in Princess Town Trinidad. Nor did Maestro experiment with cadence and calypso as stated in the Wikipedia information, Shorty was the one who did that experiment in 1975 for a track on his 1976 album and not Maestro. Nor did Maestro die in an accident in Dominica as stated in the Wikipedia information. The late Maestro who was Lord Shorty's close calypso friend (as they both lived in the same area in Trinidad) died in Trinidad on 30th August 1977 when he was hit by a car on the Solomon Hochoy Highway while helping someone change a flat tyre.

I have done a lot of research on soca music which has been commended by members of TUCO in Trinidad including the TUCO president Lutalo Masimba (See his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/bro.resistance). Here is a link to one of my information threads (http://www.islandmix.com/backchat/f16/tribute-lord-shorty-aka-ras-shorty-i-father-soca-thread-252325/#post4278164) which anyone can learn a lot from if they take time to read it as it is all based on accurate well researched information backed by the chronological music recordings.

If all is okay with you I will try to correct the misinformation on Shorty and Maestro once again and hopefully you will realise that I am actually helping to raise the standard and credibility of the Wikipedia info on Soca music by providing totally accurate and well researched information.

Best regards Ian Henry aka Socapro — Preceding unsigned comment added by Socapro (talkcontribs) 07:15, 15 February 2016 (UTC) Socapro (talk) 07:24, 15 February 2016 (UTC) Socapro (talk) 07:30, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ian. I hope Oshwah doesn't mind me making a comment here.
I agree that many of the Caribbean music articles on Wikipedia are lacking good sources. A few musicologists such as Jocelyne Guilbault have written books on the topic; these should be the backbone of the articles. Not website forum discussions such as socawarriors.net! You are correct in taking that out in this series of edits which involve the London IP 2.99.64.43 and also your registered username Socapro.
I respect your expertise on the topic, an expertise gained through years of study. The problem, and it's a big one, is that Wikipedia must be based on published facts, not on new or unpublished analysis. The hard-and-fast rule is called WP:No original research—please read it. Original research is what authors do, and rightly so, but it is not allowed on Wikipedia. If you want to bring your expertise to bear on the articles about Caribbean music then you must either use your expertise to find published sources saying the things you know to be true, or you must write your own account and get it published in an established publication. Your personal analysis cannot be carried by Wikipedia. Binksternet (talk) 05:46, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

On the little change for the release year of latest Gary Lucas CD

Hi, I'm Bjh, and I'm the one who did the little change on Gary Lucas' page. I was just listening to the CD, freshly delivered from Cuneiform Records. It appeared on their January 2016 batch (each ear, Cuneiform is releasing three batches of 5 [sometimes 6] CDs and I always buy them all) - in January, May and September. It is definitely a 2016 Cuneiform release. Here is the page from the label:

Soka Gakkai page

Hi Oshwah, I mentioned on the talk page that I think the quantity of Nichiren Shoshu material on the Soka Gakkai page is excessive—nearly 1900 words. Other encyclopedias have less than half that amount on the Soka Gakkai subject. I would like to edit it down to what is relevant to the Gakkai in one section. If you want a more detailed explanation of what I would like to do, I can provide it. I posted my intent in general several weeks ago and waited for responses, but none was forthcoming, so I thought it was okay to go ahead. Let me know what I need to do. Regarding your apology, don't worry, I can see you have a full plate. We all volunteer our time, but you are in a different league all together. I understand your reasons. I made a couple of specific points on the talk page, but will give a more full account. If you go back over a year, there is a consensus that the Soka Gakkai page was too long and somewhat chaotic. Since the Soka Gakkai and Nichiren Shoshu have been separated for over 25 years, there are some things that are not relevant. The history of course must remain, but some matters that are really Nichiren Shoshu more than Soka Gakkai can be taken out. Plus, there are like five sections spread out through the text that are Nichiren Shoshu matters. If you return me to among the living, I will detail any edits on the Soka Gakkai talk page prior to taking action. I am admittedly a newbie to Wikipedia entry. My purpose was to correct an incorrect date (as to when Scouting went co-educational). My unfamilarity with at the beginning caused a "bounce back". Huntingdon, Pennsylvania Edits

Hi there. I made a few edits to the Huntingdon, Pennsylvania page. I'm a new user and did not realize I should explain the reasoning for my edits. From now on, I will make sure to do that. When I deleted content, I was planning on moving it somewhere else- not deleting it entirely. I'd appreciate if you could please leave the edited content on the page, as I am asking feedback from many residents of Huntingdon to see what they would like to see on the page. Thanks!Shalenmae (talk) 01:34, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hella subject

Hi Oshwah, yes I do feel my story was a bit sloppy and should have been done in a different productive manner, it was a cut and paste rough draft, I got into a post when I heard someone say Hella, I asked them what it meant to see there version as I do jokingly with people in the past decades, then I tell them the story and history of it and it's origin, I usually don't do this often as I some times get burnt out telling the story, but ya anyways it is a dutch word and my whole family said this work in their broken English growing up, my father side of the family is from Holland, I didn't make up the word as it is already a true word in Dutch spelled Heele or sometimes Hele, used in different context to it's sentence in meaning, it means in dutch very, or everything or entire or whole. I grew up saying hella this and hella that as my cousin did as well, I have witnesses to this as well being my family and friends who ended up liking my slang using it in the same manner as we do in dutch, I said this for everything in the 70's just being used to it as my family did, Heele dis and Heele allemal, but ya, forgive me for saying I was young and used it in terms of smoking, I should leave that part out and be more professional, hope you can forgive me, I'm not to familiar to Wiki other than using it to research, I've never had an account, but will you please work with me getting this story out and the truth of it, you can google this to see the proof I am talking about, I'l show you a google link even with translator to show you verification it's dutch as well, it kills me I am not getting credit for this after seeing how far my word has come, I jumped out of my chair and my jaw dropped when I seen Bart Simpson say it on tv,,,lol Please believe me when I'm sharing this with you, here is Heele being used exactly how it's being described in your introduction to show you the truth https://translate.google.com/#nl/en/heele%20lekker , Please Please help me get my credit I deserve and end all those guestimations listed from the very 1st posters, some of the stuff posted from not to far back might be true after the fact of it's slang creation, but the stuff I'm reading from it's claimed origins aren't true, and my family can testify this knowing I used this term constantly as a child in the 70's from it's dutch origins. So if your willing to work with me on this I would be so appreciative, it will end this mystery of wiki's guessing and not fully understanding the facts I can give. Please take into consideration some of my evidence through google translate. I'm hoping this all will make sense to you after, It's been real hard and frusterating for the last decades explaining this to people, but ya, should I really expect people to believe me when this world is so doubtful, most people are like ya sure, right, your the one who created Hella,,,sigh..I don't expect everyone to believe me, it doesn't bother me anymore being I know the truth as well as my family does. People even have a hard time when I tell them Koolio used to live across the street from me,,lol oh the Vegas life Ok Looking so forward to your reply soon, Thank You, Sincerely David de Haas — Preceding unsigned comment added by David de Haas (talkcontribs) 03:08, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Recent revert at ANI

I wasn't trying to remove the discussion at all; rather, I was simply trying to move it over to WP:AN, since the discussion seemed to be in the wrong venue (block reviews should go to AN, not ANI, or so I am told). Since I obviously did it wrong, would you do it for me, if it should be moved at all? Prhdbt [talk] 05:31, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Prhdbt, there's no requirement that block reviews happen at WP:AN instead of WP:ANI; they happen in both venues, and I want the thread to stay at WP:ANI for wider input. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 07:18, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Correction of Inaccurate Soca music information on Wikipedia

Hi Oshwah,

During the last week I took a lot of valuable time out of my schedule to correct most of the errors and misinformation that I spotted in the Wikipedia Soca music information articles and particularly the one on Lord Shorty aka Ras Shorty-I that had highly inaccurate and misleading information especially in regards to timelines of recordings and events.

As you know I first did some corrections from my computer without creating an account and you removed the corrections so I then decided to create an account to identify myself and to also let you know what my credentials are regards to supplying accurate information about Soca music. More important than that I also supplied you with a link to one of my blog-threads that I did on Ras Shorty I (http://www.islandmix.com/backchat/f16/tribute-lord-shorty-aka-ras-shorty-i-father-soca-thread-252325/#post4278164) a number of years ago that contains all of his crucial innovative soca recordings arranged in chorological order together with informative video interviews and live performances of Ras Shorty-I and links to credible articles in which Shorty confirms the timelines of his crucial experimental soca recordings which led to his invention of Soca music. In addition also posted to that blog thread is Shorty’s discography that also confirms the timelines of all of Shorty’s crucial experimental soca recordings and more. If you take the time to read my blog thread on Ras Shorty-I you would quickly realise that all the corrections that I made to the Soca music articles here on Wikipedia are accurate and actually help to add credibility and clarity to the articles based upon the crucial timeline of recordings and when innovative contribution were made.

For starters if one knows anything about soca music they would notice right away that the current information about when Soca was developed in the very first paragraph of the current Wikipedia entry on Soca music is inaccurate. Soca music did not originate in the late 1970s as it says in the first paragraph of the current Wikipedia article. Soca was originated by Lord Shorty in the early to mid 1970’s with Shorty arriving at his final Soca formula with the song “Endless Vibrations” in 1974 after doing a string of experimental calypso recordings between 1971 and 1973. I also pointed out that Shorty’s Trinidadian calypso colleague Maestro grew up in the same area as Shorty (in Princess Town, Trinidad) and that Maestro never had a house in Dominica nor did Maestro die in a car crash in Dominica as is currently stated in the Soca music and Ras Shorty-I articles on Wikipedia. Nor did Maestro experiment with fusing Calypso with Cadence as is also currently falsely stated, that experiment was done by Lord Shorty after he visited Dominica in 1975 in a track called “E Pete”. In addition when Shorty visited Dominica in 1975 he stayed at the Fort Young Hotel in Dominica and did not stay at Maestro’s house or anyone else’s home. I personally got that info from Shorty’s own mouth when I interviewed him at his Piparo home in Trinidad in 1992. I took the time to make all these critical corrections to the current misleading Soca music article on Wikipedia but yet you chose to delete my corrections and so prevent the improvement of the accuracy and reliability of a Wikipedia entry.

Note I am still learning how to use Wikipedia for editing etc and was also planning to add a proper contents table and links which I view as more reliable to the articles that I have corrected and edited. However so far your deletions of the accurate information I have added is not very encouraging to me to continue making further contributions to help improve the credibility of the Soca music and its related articles here on Wikipedia.

On one hand when I read the welcome message to Wikipedia you’ll are inviting folks to help improve the accuracy of Wikipedia articles but now that you get some like myself (with a lot of firsthand knowledge and accurate information based on interviews and music recordings) trying to contribute you chose to delete my contributions thus causing me to waste my time trying to help improve the accuracy of your Wikipedia articles.

Please note that ALL of the information that I added is well researched and accurate and that I have either the original music recordings to refer to or actual interviews with the artists themselves to refer to. I will appreciate in the future that if/when I make any edits to improve the accuracy of articles that we have a discussion about the information you wish to delete before deleting and negating all my time and efforts dedicated to making the corrections. When we discuss the corrections that I make I can guarantee you that I can supply you with links to the evidence that my corrections are dead accurate especially when we are talking about timelines of recordings and events. I will either point you to the evidence that it is accurate or supply a link to a credible article or source. I am still learning to use Wiki but can supply credible links to most of the information that I post.

Because I hate seeing misinformation about my country’s national music and music pioneers being posted on the internet I will venture to correct the incorrect Wikipedia misinformation on Soca music and Lord Shorty once again and if there is anything that you view as inaccurate that I have added then please let’s discuss it in the future before rushing to delete information that is helping to improve the credibility of Wikipedia so that I can provide you with the proof and links that the information I have supplied is accurate and cannot be logically disputed.

Best regards and let’s hope that I do not continue wasting my time trying to help Wikipedia look reliable as my time is valuable and I am not being paid for this.

PS: I don't always refer to articles published by other folks on soca music because there are quite a few articles out there that have not been well researched and so contain glaring timeline errors regards to music recordings and events.

Hi, 32.210.82.132 - Your changes require a reliable source per Wikipedia's biographies of living people and verifiability policies. Your statement saying that you're "related to him" and that you "don't need a source" is not only incorrect per Wikipedia's policies, but also constitutes both original research (which is not allowed), and a conflict of interest (highly discouraged behavior). I highly recommend that you review these policies before continuing to modify the article. Thank you. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:20, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You can say what you want, but I know for a fact that I know more about this particular subject/person than you do & I know that my information on the subject in question is credible, whether you think so or not. So if you want to continue to be the "Wikipedia police" go right ahead, see if I lose sleep over it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 32.210.82.132 (talk) 01:38, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No that's okay. I simply won't try and contribute anymore. It's no surprise why people EVERYWHERE consider Wikipedia a non-credible source, but continue to waste your time on here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 32.210.82.132 (talkcontribs)

For these reason I edited to remove everything older than 2015/02/22

Help with pending edit war

Hey there, I'm so happy to have found you. I'm William LaTour and my girlfriend built the LaTour musician wikipedia page. The band The Squids is continually posting things in the article. I was a MINOR player in this band but because the lead singer (Joey Spatafora) can't create his own page,he constantly posts erroneous and falsified data about HIS band to hijack the LaTour page.

Is there any way to ban him from doing this? Is there any way to set up a flag for this unauthenticated data being put there? I worked hard to have the credits I do have and to see him get his name on wikipedia via my name is inaccurate. William Latour Mmmohhmmm (talk) 18:19, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Oswah,

thanks for the message about the Dr Beeching item I made.
I have no love for the man., but I was employed by a multinational concrete company which benefitted greatly from the immense Motorway building programme and funded the conservative government and indirectly it's coffers.
Likewise the car manufacturers, petrol companies and other vested interests who were going to make a mint out of declining the railways and expanding the roads in the u.k.
So I personally know that Beeching took virtually all the flak for ernie marples and his hidden aggenda.
Whilst I understand you may not see this as neutral.
I do see one of the failings of wiki as being too politically correct. They do not want to add anything controversial to the status quo- even if it was correct - according to the establishment of the day - which purposely then left part of the truth unrecorded and unsaid.

Note

I am not asking you to record the cash they got back through party donations, etc......
Ernie marples was very coy and used Beeching as a fig leaf and pushed through a policy of expanding roads and car use, although this was not admitted at the time. It was suspected at the time and only became apparent to many later.
As you say in your other article: "Beechings axe" was very very controversial, but that is in a seperate article elsewhere. Few today now realise that he was only the bullet delivering the predertermined result - not the gun.
Today we still are living with the effects it brought and often Dr Beeching is badly maligned because of this overhang effect that happens in history.
Marples chose and aimed him, he purposefully replaced his predecessor and set his task, and so in fairness and justice this needs clearly pointing out here to aid clarification... while I have no admiration or hate for Beeching- it is unjust that it is not pointed out squarely to all new readers.
Doing So helps show Beechings true legacy was more and that he was a succesful innovator and modernerizing industrialist and an important legal system reformer that can be held in better regard and proper context.
Which is important, so that it is not forgotten by children who where not alive and did not live through the changes, and now who only know him for one small piece of his long ang varied career.23:49, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

what d0 u want? im busy104.192.162.98 (talk) 23:55, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank you for the help

Well I'm trying to remain calm with this 'person' I will be blunt. I have no problem with 'editors' and contributors or anyone asking why someone has done this or that, or even delegating the rules that need to be adhered to, for a, near peer reviewed, page to be up to the requirements of the wiki's legal obligations etc. But being spoken to in the manor that this person, and two others have that User:Shawn in Montreal was good enough to sort out the first incident, is just not acceptable. I'm not a 'keyboard' warrior, I'm actually a permanently injured former Rock n Roll 'roadie' and former Security specialist, so I take the absolutely blatantly arrogant attitude that some 'editors' I've come across since re-joining the Wiki, to start addressing some of the issues I've found with musical entries on the site, due in the main to my injury to keep my mind busy, to be just that; completely unacceptable. I'm not denying my very un-professional manor of response, but when I give someone an explanation on my actions and it is completely ignored, then I'm treated like a 'peon' by them, well....that's not something I've ever put up with. Respect and manors are paramount, and I return the attitude of the person giving me it in kind. I'm a very polite, but blunt, person in the main, as I don't mince words due to my nature of dealing with pretty serious situation in my careers, literally involving life and death sometimes, as both of them had a degree of personal and external dangers. I'm more than willing to join the commons in good faith and follow due diligence so that my contributions can be useful and constructive to the people that come on here for some information about a subject matter. But there needs to be a resolution to the attitudes of those that have jumped on me from a great height of arrogance and thinking their entitled to do so. It can be said I come on here like a wrecking ball myself, but I've very much learned my lesson about the protocols to follow, and am still learning obviously, but that doesn't excuse the blatant arrogance of not just this person but the two others beforehand that have behaved in kind. I'm not excusing, or trying tot deny, or re-evaluating, my blunt and angry responses to any of these situations I've found myself in, as honesty is also a key word here. Hi, Nuro Dragonfly and thank you for taking the time to leave me a message. I completely understand how you're feeling; it never feels good to feel treated like a "peon" or a lesser person (especially when you feel that you're trying to be reasonable and make good contributions. You don't know me very well, but I spend most of my Wikipedia time patrolling recent changes and reverting vandalism - you can imagine the number of negative, trolling, and beat-down messages I receive every day (I'll even occasionally receive very angry messages from legitimate editors when I make a mistake; mistakes happen and nobody is perfect). I understand how frustrating and perhaps infuriating that this is. The thing I learned to do in my life experience is to ignore the anger and the negativity. Apologize if you find that you made a mistake, and offer to help and come to a resolution. Kill em with kindness :-). I want to also acknowledge and commend you on not only your message here, but your message on Drmies's talk page here. This is a step in the right direction. Make peace and seek resolution. If someone is bothering you with negativity, it's okay to call them out on it, but do so nicely. Just say "I feel that your response here (quote exactly what he/she said) was not appropriate because... ", and give them a chance to explain. If you need help with anything, want to talk about something or get an opinion, or just want a mentor - please do not hesitate to message me on my talk page. I'll be happy to help you with anything you need. Please keep in touch and let me know how you're doing :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:24, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I need help

User:Wanheda keep reverting the edits. He didn't understand my statements while i was working on American Idol (season 15). Please tell him Channel1235 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:25, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • PS: He/She kept reverting the pages again and again i tried to reason but didn't understand. Channel1235 (talk) 05:29, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Channel1235 - This appears to be a content dispute that needs to be sorted out with Wanheda on the article's talk page. It is highly recommended that you communicate with this person on the article's talk page and come to a resolution. I see that you've been warned for edit warring; please communicate with the user before making any more changes to the article, as continuing to go back-and-fourth like this without a resolution discussion can get you blocked from editing. Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you and Wanheda need help with dispute resolution. I'll be happy to do so. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:29, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted my page.

Oshwah, you deleted my page. As you might imagine, I am a little unhappy with this decision. I created that page so that my estranged children could find me, should they decide to look me up. I do not feel like the page was hurting anyone, and I would like you to restore it. Thank you for your cooperation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Walter.singleton (talkcontribs) 17:32, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Walter.singleton - Sorry, but content needs to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. The content that you created did not. Please let me know if you still have questions after reading Wikipedia's notability policy. I'll be happy to answer them. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:24, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

learning words is fun

here's Merriam Webster if you'd like to learn the definition of the word... http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/legendary — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.48.241.158 (talk) 02:45, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, 68.48.241.158 - I appreciate your response, but this word (by consensus) does imply a viewpoint that isn't neutral. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Words to watch#Puffery - it will answer your questions. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:50, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

guess would have to instead say 'well known' or some such thing as the Wikipedia community doesn't understand what the word actually means...oh well, guess just limits proper communication.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.48.241.158 (talk) 02:58, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

186.151.158.224 - No worries. If you want to edit test, the best place to do this is the Wikipedia Sandbox. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:54, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted my correction

Maret Jonsdotter

Hey Oshwah!

This might be a long shot, but I was wondering if you knew anything else about the mark on Maret Jonsdotter's finger. I've been trying to find a description of what it actually looked like. I know it's a strange question- I've been delving into some genealogy and I suspected I might be related to her family. Then I read the bit about her pinky and I couldn't believe it- I've never met anyone else with a strange mark on the same finger and same hand.

Thanks!

Hi, 75.137.19.238 - Unfortunately, I do not know anything about the subject matter. I was the last person to edit the article simply because I was reverting vandalism. Sorry for the bad news. I wish you good luck, and I hope you ultimately end up finding what you are looking for :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:38, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Note on HG reversion

Hey Oshwah, I just saw this edit. It was indeed a referenced change, just wrongly formatted. In fact, her death was already stated elsewhere in the article. I don't believe reversion was the best route here, especially given your rationale. It really does discourage new contributors. Best, Airplaneman 02:58, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Airplaneman! Oh, derp! Indeed you are correct; that was a total mistake on my part. Thanks for catching that and for letting me know :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:10, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No problem – happens to all of us. Happy editing, Airplaneman 03:12, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Happy editing to you as well! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:31, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Persephone article

I don't see why my text seemed less objective to you. What I say is a fact! Ancient peoples did not appear out of nowhere having problems with the local languages. They came in waves and intermingled in various ways. When we come to the name Persephone it is impossible to discuss pronunciations. We do not know how it was pronounced. However, scholars do agree that in time various deities and their names were consolidated in specific forms - yet keeping some of their name variations. Claiming that the Greeks could not pronounce the name is a statement you should have removed just as you are doing with mine. It is inaccurate and false. If what put you off is my ending remark then you are right. I will remove it. I placed it there because I could not believe the stupidity of the observation in an article that has the outlook of seriousness. That combination sort of scholarly infuriated me In any case, the article also names Persephone a spring goddess while she is not that at all. Persephone is a fall deity 107.213.152.232 (talk) 03:59, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article you are protecting from my "vandalism" is full of mistakes. It vandalizes the true scholarly approach. This means that you accept a false article and disallow corrections I think I will stop using Wikipedia. Who approved the original article? This is ridiculous — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.213.152.232 (talk) 04:27, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
