Samyuktha Hegde (born 17 July 1998)[1] is an Indian film actress and professional dancer, who made her debut in Kannada language film Kirik Party along with Rakshith Shetty, and well-known for her prominent role as Arya.[4] The huge success of her maiden flick Kirik Party, making her one of the most sought-after actresses in south Indian cinema.[5] She was recently selected to compete in the reality show MTV Roadies.[6]

Early year and personal life

Samyuktha was born to Bunts orthodox family and raised in Bengaluru. Samyuktha is currently pursuing her degree course in BA psychology and journalism in Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, Bengaluru which comes under the umbrella of Jain University.[7][1]

Career

Samyuktha started her film career with Kirik Party under the direction of Rishab Shetty. She was reportedly selected for the role from an auditions made by the Kirik Party team in 2016 after seeing her profile in Facebook. [7]

I got a call from the associate director asking me to audition for a Rakshit Shetty film, but I thought it was a prank! But he called me again after a few days and this time, I believed him. My p.u board exams were going on, but despite that, I went to Jayanagar for an audition. The door opened, and I was shocked to see Rakshit right in front of me. They explained the plot to me and I liked it. After I auditioned, they gave me the cheque and said "welcome to Kirik Party".

Television Show (2017)

Samyukta was also attended the Hindi Reality show MTV Roadies on Dec 2016 and selected by her dance performance in front of gang leaders Harbhajan Singh, Neha Dhupia, Rannvijay Singha, Karan Kundra and Prince Narula, and she only youngest contestant at age of 18 in the show, at the end of the audition all the judges wanted Samyuktha on their gang. Neha, who was in awe of the actress, said, "It's amazing how good you are. You are beautiful when you dance and your movements are so crisp and correct." Which is being hosted by the Rannvijay Singh and aired on MTV India channel, Samyukta as said MTV Roadies Reality show, which was her childhood dream to be part of the show.[8]

Samyuktha told times of india about her entry to the Reality show and speaking about the audition, Samyuktha says, "I met Raghu two weeks before the auditions, and he urged me to go for it — since I am passionate about it. It has been my dream to be on this show since I was eight years old. Now that I am 18 and legally allowed to be on it, I decided to give it a try. I didn't have any hopes of doing well in the auditions, but I knew that my personality — and a strong mind will see me through. My only motto on the show will be to not abuse anybody and not let anybody abuse me."[8]

Debut and breakthrough

She made her debut at the age of 17[1] in the Kannada language film Kirik Party. Which received critical acclaim by the critics and the audiences and became one of the highest grossing films of 2016, collecting over ₹40 crore[9][10][11] at the Indian box office against a budget of ₹4 crore.[12][13][10][14] The Times of India praised and States that "Samyuktha Hegde, as the bubbly Aarya, has a tough act to follow given the peppy first half and impresses by holding her own in crucial scenes".[15] The The News Minute states that "Samyuktha Hegde, who takes over from Rashmika in the second half is adorable, even if there are points where she could tone down her sunshiney attitude".[16] The Deccan Chronicle states that "And post interval another beautiful portrayal of Arya by Samyukta Hegde reminds the ladies their big crush on one special senior guy!".[17] The Indian Express States that "Samyukta Hegde has outshone in the film along with the main character".[18]
