Tiku Talsania is an Indian actor who has acted in supporting roles in nearly 200 films and in TV serials. Apart from acting in films and television serials, he also performs as a freelance theatre artist, working for Gujarati theatre in Mumbai and in America and Europe.[1]

Early life

Tiku Talsania was born on Monday, 7 June 1954, in Mumbai, in Maharashtra, and was brought up there. [2][3]

Television career

Tiku has acted in a number of television serials starting with Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi in 1984 and Ye Duniya Ghazab Ki.

He acted in many successful serials until the very recent Uttaran.He is currently seen in the SAB TV Sitcom Sajan Re Phir Jhooth Mat Bolo .[4]

Film career

Tiku started his Bollywood career with Rajeev Mehra's Pyaar Ke Do Pal in 1986. He continued to play his role as comedian in movies like Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Umar 55 Ki Dil Bachpan Ka, Bol Radha Bol, Andaz Apna Apna, Mr. Bechara from 1991 to 1996. Breaking from his comedian roles, he donned the cap of a serious character in the movie Waqt Hamara Hai in 1993.[3]

He then acted in a number of commercially successful movies like Ishq in 1997, Jodi No.1 in 2001 and up until Partner in 2007. He received critical acclaim for his role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas.[3] Tiku, who played the role of the protagonist Devdas's caretaker Dharamdas, said that he was confident that his role would get noticed.[5]

Personal life

Tiku is married to Dipti, who is a theatre artist as well as a classical dancer. He has a son named Rohan and a daughter named Shikha Talsania, who is an actress.[3]

Tiku has stated that he has had a passion for bikes from early age and has recently ridden a Harley Davidson motorcycle on a test drive.[6]
