Upon graduating in 2006, Harbinger initially began working as a financial attorney on Wall Street.[5] After leaving the firm a year later, he began producing podcast content full-time.[3]

In 2013 Harbinger demonstrated at DEF CON how easily a person can be connected with someone who may not be what they claim to be, based on the Robin Sage experiment of 2010.[6]

In 2007, Sirius XM offered Harbinger a position as a talk show host for his program on its online and satellite radio platforms.[7] The show has featured guests including Shaquille O'Neal, Mike Rowe, Russell Brand, Tony Hawk, Tim Ferriss, Gary Vaynerchuk, Seth Godin, and Carol Dweck.[8] As of November 2017 it has published over 916 episodes.[8][9][10][11] The Art of Charm podcast is produced in San Francisco.[12]
