District 1 is a district in the Texas House of Representatives that encompasses all of Bowie, Franklin, Lamar, and Red River Counties. This District's current representative is Gary VanDeaver and he had been in it since January 13, 2015. It was created in the 3rd legislature (1849-1851). He is most likely going to win the 2018 Election and get another term. [1]
