Hello, welcome to my talk page!

If you want to leave a message, please do it at the bottom, as a new section, for better formatting. You can do that by simply pressing the plus sign (+) or "new section" on the top of this page. And don't forget to sign your messages with four tildes, like this: ~~~~

Attention: I prefer to keep discussions unfragmented. If you leave a comment for me here, I will most likely respond to it on this same page—my talk page—as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, please respond to it there. Remember, we can use our watchlist to keep track of when responses are made. At the same time, feel free to send an alert to me on this page about a comment you have left elsewhere.

Thank you!

Derek Reese

Good morning Iffy, i am really trying my best here. When you say i need a reliable source ? can you further explain please ? i thought Google was a reliable source ? This artist Derek Reese has a website, google knowledge graph, album reviews and pictures on the internet. Thank you Iffy :-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carolcappetta (talkcontribs) 14:13, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I cant figure out what i am doing wrong Iffy ? can you please give me an example of a credited source ? Carolcappetta (talk) 14:19, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Carolcappetta:, Please read WP:RS and WP:NMUSIC for guidance on reliable sources, and Wikipedia's notablitiy standards for musicians. Google and official websites verify that he exists, but do not establish notability. The album reviews you mention are more likely to establish notability. One more thing, merely linking to your sources is not helpful to other readers; you should be writing in prose and explaining why he is a notable musician, rather than relying on readers to click on the links to find out why. IffyChat -- 14:24, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again Iffy, i have updated the page many times since we last spoke. When you have a moment can you please take a look at it ? This isn't easy, but nothing in life is :-) Thank you for all of your help, i truly appreciate you Iffy. Carolcappetta (talk) 16:31, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's much better than before. I don't know if I'll be able to review it today, but while you're waiting for someone to do so, keep improving the article, following the example of other Wikipedia articles. IffyChat -- 16:51, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please review my draft

Hi Iffy,

Please review my draft Draft:Hear Me Love Me (TV series). Let me know your feedback. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Naina584 (talkcontribs) 12:30, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Naina584:, I've re-submitted the draft on your behalf. Thank you for fixing the copyright issues, it's very important that copyrighted material is not published anywhere on Wikipedia. I can't look at your draft right now, but if nobody else reviews it soon, I'll take a look at it when I have time. Also, please sign (placing ~~~~ at the end of your post) your comments. Page mover granted

Hello, Iffy. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, and move subpages when moving the parent page(s).

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

Useful links:

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Salvio Let's talk about it! 13:58, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

14:34, 15 October 2018 Iffy (talk | contribs | block) moved page Talk:Capitol Limited (Amtrak train) to Talk:Capitol Limited (disambiguation) without leaving a redirect (Implementing RM consensus at Talk:Capitol Limited (PT step 2))
14:33, 15 October 2018 Iffy (talk | contribs | block) moved page Talk:Capitol Limited (Amtrak train) to Talk:Capitol Limited without leaving a redirect (Implementing RM consensus at Talk:Capitol Limited (PT step 1))

Why did you suppress the redirects? Andrewa (talk) 22:13, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Andrewa:, I was following the instructions at Wikipedia:Page_mover#Establishing_a_primary_topic, because the dab page couldn't be overwritten due to its page history. IffyChat -- 06:51, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK... but step 4 at Wikipedia:Page mover#Round-robin page moves is Perform redirect cleanup and updates and this doesn't seem to have been completed. What brought me here was that Talk:Capitol Limited (Amtrak train) is now a redlink. Shouldn't it redirect to Talk:Capitol Limited to match Capitol Limited (Amtrak train)? Andrewa (talk) 07:24, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The 2 swaps automatically points links to the articles to the correct pages, I didn't check the talk pages as most people don't care about talk pages of redirects. If you want to create that redirect, go ahead. IffyChat -- 07:38, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I will. Quite a few pages link there. Andrewa (talk) 22:08, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to split Economic_inequality

Hello, I would like to split Economic inequality. According to this link the article is 202 kB and WP:SIZESPLIT suggests an article be split after 40 kB. Also, on the top of the page is a banner that is two years old suggesting the article should be split. Since I am new, I would like to build a consensus first, rather than WP:BRD. To that end, I put a post on Talk:Economic_inequality and am contacting everyone who has edited the page in the past month. Thanks for your time and please come down to discuss! RfC on which you !voted, has been amended

In response to objections, I struck the two year moratorium thing at Wikipedia_talk:Notability_(people)#RfC:_Amendment_for_BIO_to_address_systemic_bias_in_the_base_of_sources. I'm notifying everybody who !voted. Jytdog (talk) 14:30, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, this change to the proposal has no effect on my vote, so I'll leave it as it is. IffyChat -- 14:42, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
