Ahn Hye-jin (born July 23, 1995),[1] better known by her stage name Hwasa, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, rapper and television personality signed under RBW. She debuted as a member of the girl group Mamamoo in June 2014.[2]

In April 2018 she joined the cast of KBS reality television show Hyena on the Keyboard; the appearence spawned a collaboration with rapper Loco. The song topped the South Korean Gaon Digital Chart and was later certified Platinum.[3] Later that year, she joined the MBC reality television show I Live Alone as a regular cast member. Her work on the show earned her two MBC Entertainment Awards.

In February 2019, Hwasa made her debut as a solo artist with the digital single "Twit", which topped the Gaon Digital Chart as well.

Biography

Ahn Hye-jin was born in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea,[4] where she lived with her parents and two elder sisters. She graduated from Wonkwang Information Arts High School.[5]

Endorsements

During her first appearance on I Live Alone in June 2018, Hwasa proved her strong influence by starting a national "Gopchang craze,"[6][7] causing the delicacy to sell out across the country.
