Matthew (Matt) Martin Little is an American politician and member of the Minnesota Senate. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), he represents District 58 in the southern Twin Cities metropolitan area.

Early life, education, and career

Little graduated from Rosemount High School in 2003. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science from University of Minnesota Morris in 2007.[1][2]

He worked as a union steward for the National Association of Letter Carriers in Washington, D.C. for two years and spent one year teaching English in Chile before returning to Minnesota to attend law school at the University of Minnesota.[3] In 2014, he earned his juris doctor, graduating magna cum laude.[4][2]

In 2012, Little was elected to the Lakeville City Council. In 2012, at the age of 27, Little was elected mayor, becoming the youngest person in the city's history to hold the office.[1]

Little is an attorney at his firm, Little Law, in Lakeville.[3]

Minnesota Senate

Little was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2016.

Personal life

Little and his wife, Coco Qi, live in Lakeville. They had a daughter in 2019.[4]
