Tipu Sultan Dispute Resolution

White washing of Islam and Scapegoating of Hindus

I've noticed a lot of wikipedia entries that denigrate Hindu culture and practices at the expense of whitewashing Islam. Whenever people talk about the caste system among south asian muslims, they act as if the phenomenon is a south asian problem rather than an islamic problem. This is totally nonsensical since even outside of South Asia, there exists an atrocious system of social stratification where Arabs discriminate against non-Arabs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krao212 (talkcontribs) 16:43, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Need a help regarding article Allahabad

Hello Administrator! Hi. I would like to bring to your kind notice that a certain user named Kashmiri, has made edits to page Prayagraj that appears to be affecting the whole neutrality of the article. I do not intend to name any user in particular, I just need to bring to light some particular edits, done consequently one after one, that has changed some of the long standing status of the page. Firstly, the user removed the metropolis status off the page stating that it isn’t really a metropolis, without providing any reference to the edit made, while the Census commission states those cities which are in prominence, centred, administrative headquarters which have a population more than one million, are referred as Metropolis, and the population is already referenced. I have no intention to get involved in any conflicts with any user. I know and understand that he might have done that in good faith, I just would like you to only revert back the metropolis status of the page since the population of the city is exceeding one million, and it is a city of importance, I do not ask you or intend to add anything, I just want neutral data to be restored back. I even provided Government link for the city given on the Government Urban and Environmental Studies website about the stats of the city. Under Chapter 2, City profile, section 2.3.1 it clearly says ” Allahabad city comes under Allahabad metropolitan area along with Cantonment board and urban outgrowths. Population of metropolitan area is 12,16,719. Male constitutes 655,734 and female constitutes 560,985 of the total population.” http://mohua.gov.in/upload/uploadfiles/files/19UP_Allahabad_sfcp-min.pdf The user Kashmiri hasn’t participated in any talks on talk page, nor has provided any significant reference on why the edit that was long stable was suddenly removed from the page. Alongside, I also provided a media article link back in 2006 when Allahabad was mentioned along with 5 other cities in the states and given metropolitan status. https://m.timesofindia.com/city/lucknow/Six-cities-to-get-metropolitan-status/articleshow/2210886.cms We editors look up to you for everything. Kindly help. Harshv7777 (talk) 06:56, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Harshv7777: I see it is being discussed at Talk:Allahabad. Hopefully, you'll get some resolution.--RegentsPark (comment) 15:29, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Emailed you regarding a draft I'm doing

Hello, RegentsPark. Please check your email; you've got mail!
It may take a few minutes from the time the email is sent for it to show up in your inbox. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{You've got mail}} or {{ygm}} template.
Sorry, but I'm not a good person to contact for reviewing drafts on matters Middle East. --RegentsPark (comment) 17:04, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

RegentsPark What is your suggestion, should I not continue edits related to India or should take approval for each and every edit? Doug Weller is yet to advise on Talk:Bijak Satya Jaimala (talk) 15:37, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Satya Jaimala: The discretionary sanctions alert is only informational and does not mean you've done anything wrong or even that you need to change your editing behavior. Just keep it in mind!--RegentsPark (comment) 15:39, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

RP, disturbing you a bit. Can you look at the article? Got no idea how suddenly some users burst into and edit warring to remove sourced content from the article. It was earlier disrupted by a user you blocked and pushed the same POV that these users are pushing. --Zayeem (talk) 20:01, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Added to my watch list. --RegentsPark (comment) 20:25, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Barelvi

Hey what's your problem, why are you reverting my edits203.194.107.181 (talk) 13:12, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It is unusual to nominate an article without actually working on it and I don't see any recent edits? --RegentsPark (comment) 13:15, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Come on, It is the criteria that article should be stable and there should be no edit warring203.194.107.181 (talk) 13:19, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. I'm not reverting you again. --RegentsPark (comment) 13:24, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think we are dealing with a sockpuppet, see [[1]] Unbroken Chain (talk) 13:39, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks 203.194.107.181 (talk) 13:57, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Toddy1:--RegentsPark (comment) 13:59, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
As I see it there are two issues:
  1. Is the IP editor a sockpuppet - that was dealt with at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Khadim ahlesunnah waljamaah.
  2. Whether the GA review should go ahead. The IP editor thinks it should. Four other editors have reverted: a clear consensus not to review.

Talpade

My edits have been removed although they are from a valid source. Can you elaborate why the book reference I have provided is not a reliable source? ga11 (talk) 00:31, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Gauri a11: Booksfact is not a reliable source. Please try to find a scholarly historical source instead. --RegentsPark (comment) 15:59, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@RegentsPark: I think there is some confusion. I have already removed booksfact a few days back. That was not the only source I had mentioned in the first place. The source I am referring to is a book. Kindly refer to my edit again for book details. ga11 (talk) 17:15, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@RegentsPark: The heading of that section makes no sense in an English article since the heading is a Sanskrit proper noun. That's why I edited it.
@Gauri a11: Try discussing it on the article talk page. It seems to me that this is unverified, perhaps unverifiable, so you should try to find sources from aviation history. --RegentsPark (comment) 18:56, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I see that the sources you're using are self-published and that you've been warned before. Please be careful. --RegentsPark (comment) 19:13, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a rule on Wikipedia that if an author also runs a publishing house, then any books written by him are considered unreliable sources? If so, can you point me to such a rule? ga11 (talk) 19:41, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WP:SELFPUB--RegentsPark (comment) 19:44, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Can you tell me why you have changed the heading to Marutsakha again? I already explained several times that this is a proper Sanskrit noun and makes no sense as a standalone heading. It needs to have some English explanation with it like Aircraft or airplane or something. The fact that Talpade built an aircraft is not under dispute. What is under dispute is did it fly and for how long, etc. ga11 (talk) 20:04, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Take it to the article talk page please. This is better discussed there. --RegentsPark (comment) 20:07, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blatant hoax

Raghu Pati Raghav says that the hymn is an excerpt from Nama Ramayanam, which is surely inaccurate because the Nama Ramayanam does not contain that text. Cited sources appear to be WP:SELFPUB. This appears to be blatant hoax. Can you help correct the article and remove the "Original Version" section under the WP:INACCURATE criteria? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thewicketkeeper (talkcontribs) 22:41, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but I know nothing about this and can't help. I suggest you open a discussion on the talk page and see if someone responds. You can always remove content from an article - if no one reverts you, then you'll be fine. If you're reverted, then use the talk page to explain why your content removal was warranted. --RegentsPark (comment) 01:01, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A slightly dysfuntional barnstar

The Barnstar of Good Humour
I wish I had an iota of you sense of humor. "fix name (hope that's ok)"... that was cooool. I hope I will grow a sense of humor too, as a side effect of having you in the neighbourhood (though, left to me, I would also have kept her/his spellings). Deletion of Details on Narendra Modi

RegentsPark I first let you know that I have wrote article on him with full information and reliable citations describing his role in 2019 Indian General Elections. Please don't delete any article like this and it has been done to remove the template.Rajanrao Shankar (talk) 15:21, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Rajanrao Shankar: Not a comment on your sources or content. But, the article is about Modi and the level of detail you provide is better suited to the article on the elections. --RegentsPark (comment) 15:27, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No problem instead you can delete the Non required information instead of whole article.Rajanrao Shankar (talk) 15:29, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't delete the whole article. Anyway, feel free to try inserting your content again. I doubt if it will last. --RegentsPark (comment) 15:43, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed it again. It really is far too much detail for a biography about Modi; if it's appropriate anywhere it would be in the respective election campaign articles, but I suspect it's included there already. Vanamonde (Talk) 17:23, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

today

Hey I'm not involved in edit war. I have added content with 4 goverment website and reliable sources but that person is deleting my content again and again. Cities from developing countries need to be updated from their government websites. Don't delete my contributions The Lahore needs improvement and expansion and I'm doing it while sitting in my apartment in Lahore. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maverick8017 (talkcontribs) 21:25, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Maverick8017: It doesn't matter whether you are right or wrong or whether something needs improvement. If you continually restore your content after it is reverted, you are edit warring and will be blocked. Better to discuss your improvements on the article talk page. --RegentsPark (comment) 21:33, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
