Looking forward to working with you! Leave a note, letting me know you stopped by.

If you've written to me lately, please be patient. I log in sporadically. I am still collaborating on selected projects/articles.

Most pages I created or maintained have been handed off to their new guardians. Please look for the most frequent contributors.

Who is This Editor, Anyway?

I'm Dekyi. I began contributing to wiki sites right around "the turn of the century," 2000, when wikis were new. Wikipedia has been a great resource for many people. So as a good netizen, I pitch in with maintenance and development where I can.

I also attempt to bring balanced gender POV to articles I touch. You might consider joining WikiMedia m:WikiWomen, participating in the WikiProject: Countering Systemic Gender Bias or adding the link to your user page and collaborating with someone you find in the CGB Project. Men are just as welcome to collaborate on the CGB Project; gender bias impacts you, too. If you need help because you've experienced gender discrimination in the editing community, you can find resources on the Arbitration Committee's page.

I enjoy collaborating and look forward to working with you! ---Dekyi

Welcome to Wikipedia: How to Begin Contributing

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. Here are some Wikipedia basics you might find useful:

  • Typing ~~~~ (four tildes) inserts your name and timestamp.
  • Three tildes ~~~ inserts just your name.
  • Link to your talk page by doing this... [[Talk:YOUR USER NAME|talk]]

"My article is GONE!"
It may have been deleted. There should have been a discussion (Wikipedia:Archived deletion discussions) prior to deletions. And collaborative, civilized admins will often userify your article while deleting it. If your article is currently tagged for deletion and you disagree, you can put the "Hangon" template on the page, to require a discussion before anyone deletes it. Your best bet is to learn how to create a solid article, that can't be tagged for speedy deletion. Then learn to advocate for your articles, when necessary.

The page about the NPOV policy has tips on effectively writing about disparate points of view while maintaining a NPOV for the article. If you're stumped about how to proceed or looking for help, use one of the Help sources above (Wikipedia Boot Camp or {{helpme}}.
