Presidents of NBC Universal Television Group

In the succession box for Jeff Zucker, it says that his successor as President of NBC Universal Television Group is unknown. I tried to find out on this to add the information, but, unfortunately, I was unable to find a reliable source on that issue, in fact. Can anybody help out? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Regards--Hildeoc (talk) 20:10, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

NBCUniversal came into development season with a newly configured management team led by the troika of Susan Rovner as chair of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming; Frances Berwick as chair of entertainment networks, and Pearlena Igbokwe, who was promoted to head all of NBCU’s TV production operations as chair of Universal Studio Group last September.

@2603:6081:1C00:1187:EC40:B2AE:BE0E:8875: Thanks, but I'm actually asking who took over the above position (President of NBC Universal Television Group) from Zucker in 2007 …--Hildeoc (talk) 21:19, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I used the Wayback Machine to find some a few archived links that may provide a clue:

That day, July 5, 2007, was a few months after Zucker was promoted to CEO of the entire company. There is no President of NBC Universal Television Group listed there, but there are still presidents for the individual divisions such as NBC News (Steve Capus), NBC Universal Sports and Olympics (Dick Ebersol), and NBC Universal Television Stations and Network Operations (Jay Ireland). My only conclusion was that the position of President of NBC Universal Television Group was eliminated, and thus its responsibilities was added to Zucker's CEO job.

I was also looking at this. It was archived after the acquisition of NBC Universal by Comcast and Steve Burke is the CEO. On the left side of the page is a list of all the NBC Universal businesses, and there is no "NBC Universal Television Group" is listed per se.

This, with the Executive Team listed in the middle of the page, is before NBCUniversal Television Group was reorganized into NBCUniversal Television and Streaming in January 2019. Again, no separate head of NBCUniversal Television Group per se, but there is Mark Lazarus as Chairman of NBC Broadcasting and Sports, Andrew Lack as Chairman of NBC News, among others.

That is the current live version on nbcuniversal.com, with Mark Lazarus now as the chairman of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. See also NBCUniversal Television and Streaming#Broadcast, Cable, Sports and News, where is says that he was promoted to that position in April 2020. Hope this helps. I'll leave it to you decide what the best course of action would be with this. Ideally, it would be better to actually find a reliable source that explicitly explains how the responsibilities of the NBC Universal executives changed when Zucker was promoted in 2007, but I also having trouble finding that. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (talk) 01:32, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. Any other ideas here?--Hildeoc (talk) 21:33, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, we just need a better source. Otherwise for now, using Template:Better source needed, it would have to be this edit. Zzyzx11 (talk) 01:41, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fifty Shades Freed and mails

In Fifty Shades Freed Grey and Anastasia have an argument about why she hasn't change the name of her work mail. Since in my country people does not change surnames after marriages, could you clarify to me if it is really usual for woman to change her mail surnames at work after marriage? Also, I guess to do that you must ask for it to the IT department or something...So, given that Grey is the boss of the company, couldn't he have called to the IT department himself and ordered it if he wanted that so badly?85.58.45.221 (talk) 21:41, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, in countries where spouses can change their names after mariage, they will often ask for name-based listings in their professional life to be changed as well (not just e-mail, it can also affect how the name is reflected in the organizational chart on a company's website, in its telephone directory and so on). Normally, because of privacy concerns, only the person itself can make such a request, so even if Grey is the boss, he could not do that for one of his employees. Indeed, it could be considered a form of workplace harassment if he did so without her consent. Xuxl (talk) 12:23, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Note however that in the UK, for example, while decades ago such a name change was almost always made, this has slowly changed so that now it is also common for the woman to retain her surname in a professional context, particularly if her profession involves her making publications such as scientific papers.
There is no legal requirement in the UK to change one's surname after marriage in any context (although many people assume it is and many bureaucratic institutions will expect it). It is very rare but not completely unknown for the man to change his surname to that of his spouse, and slightly less rare for the two to adopt a new name, perhaps combining all (as a double surname or by hyphenating) or some parts (as a portmanteau) of their previous names.
See Name change for a broader treatment of the topic. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 2.122.0.58 (talk) 15:27, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
