Category:Overwatch (video game)

Hi, just to mention that you could do a full WP:CFD request to rename Category:Overwatch (video game) and its subcategories. Also you don't need to delete an opposed nomination, they generally get moved to the opposed nominations section and deleted by a page watcher a week after any discussion ends. TSventon (talk) 16:01, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@TSventon: Hello. I know I didn't have to remove it from the speedy noms, but I figured why not save the (albeit minor) work needed to close the request -- no need to have a request open that would clearly not be approved. I may start a CFD here in the future, as I don't think removing the disambiguator would lead to any confusion. Thanks for reaching out! – Pbrks (t • c) 03:31, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Checker shadow illusion

The checker shadow illusion is an optical illusion published in 1995 by Edward Adelson, an American professor of vision science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The phenomenon features an image of a checkerboard with light and dark squares, partly shadowed by another object, such as a cylinder as in this illustration. The optical illusion is that the area labeled A appears to be darker than the area labeled B. However, within the context of the two-dimensional image, they are of identical brightness – in other words, they would be printed with identical mixtures of ink, or displayed on a screen with pixels of identical color.

Draft:Sayyad hamid husain

Hi Pbrks. Could you take a look at this again? There actually was a sentence there, but it not being displayed due to a syntax error. Obviously this can't be accepted as an article, but the reason for declining the draft probably can be changed. FWIW, I only noticed this because this user just showed up on my list of mentees. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:49, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Marchjuly: Hi there. Sure thing, I've declined the request, as it is clearly not notable. Thanks! – Pbrks (t • c) 15:09, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for taking a second look at this. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:20, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Asadollah Sanii

Hello you've recently moved this draft page, but it does not cite any reference. Then is it appropriate to confirm it as a regular page? Thanks, --Egeymi (talk) 12:19, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Egeymi:, yes, I sent Asadollah Sanii to the draftspace, and the creator sent it back to the mainspace. I am unsure what you are asking, though. What do you mean by "confirm it as a regular page"? – Pbrks (t • c) 15:07, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Chess on a 12 by 12 board

I'm wanting to try and redo my article on the chess variant "Chess on a 12 by 12 board" so that it meets the guidelines. After all, I believe it deserves inclusion if more obscure variants such as cross chess are included. Where can I improve it? – Itswikisam (t • c) 02:25, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Itswikisam: as I mentioned on your talk page, it needs to better sourcing. You need to find references that have significant coverage (not just passing mentions) of the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. The current sources you have in the draft are not reliable; they're more like blogs. – Pbrks (t • c) 03:00, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How about I just put a mention of the variant into the main “list of chess variants” article? – Itswikisam (t • c) 02:00, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Itswikisam: Of course you can do that. Just be sure to support it with a reliable source. – Pbrks (t • c) 03:43, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I've added a link to the ChessV website's page on the variant. I'd also say the Chess Variant Pages is a good source for chess variants because the "list of chess variants" article uses it as a source multiple times. Also, TCVP isn't really a blog, it's more of a collaborative online chess variant encyclopedia which also doubles as a PBeM server. Because of this, I'd like to request permission to let the page be uploaded now. – Itswikisam (tc) 01:56, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for RockyNoHands

On 12 June 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article RockyNoHands, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/RockyNoHands. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, RockyNoHands), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
