I made this page for you to update the status for both Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Requests for comment/Article creation at scale and Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Requests for comment/AfD at scale at the same time. –MJLTalk 14:11, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You are AWESOME! Thank you so much! Valereee (talk) 14:20, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Re: BLP-N section name

I think many folk might get what you were intending, but I think you've used the wrong word there (DYAC) in the section name. Watts is a family annihilator, not a family nihilist. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 06:49, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you're right. Valereee (talk) 13:39, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Stop immediately

Please stop edit-warring, or I'll be forced to submit a noticeboard complaint about it. Have a little patience and have the courage of your convictions - if you are completely sure you are right, WAIT until a consensus coalesces around that assertion. Edit-warring is just going to get you blocked. Again, stop immediately. This is the only TIME i will offer this warning. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 17:11, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jack, the ONUS is on the editor who wants to include, as we've told you repeatedly. I've claimed exemption from 3RR per potential BLP violation. Valereee (talk) 17:15, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I asked you politely to await the end of discussion. No one BUT YOU has suggested that this is BLPvio, and using it as a defense against 3RR isn't going to shield you from the consequences. I will suggest that you immediately self-revert and await the end of discussion, or other action will be taken. Please do not force me to take that step. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 17:19, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to self-revert, Valereee, I will happily reinstate the edit. Cheers. Dumuzid (talk) 17:20, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Dumuzid. I'll go do that now, in an effort to keep the peace. Valereee (talk) 17:21, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dumuzid, I've done so, thanks. Valereee (talk) 17:23, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And I'm telling you politely that the answer is no, I will not leave a potential BLP vio in the article while we are discussing whether it's appropriate to include. Valereee (talk) 17:20, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Valeree, I will direct you to WP:3RRNO, and ask you to pay particular attention to Number 7. To date you are the ONLY editor who is suggesting tha tthis is a BLPvio. This is the very last chance you are being generously offered to self-revert and trust that Wikipedia will sort the matter out. If you are right, you have nothing to fear; if you are wrong, you are facing being blocked. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 17:24, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've reported it to BLPN. It's being discussed there; in the meantime, we remove. Valereee (talk) 17:25, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Too little, too late. You were warned no less than four times, by two different editors. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 17:42, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jack, I would respectfully suggest you heed Cullen's advice at BLPN. Dumuzid (talk) 17:47, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Jack Sebastian, sorry, where did I miss the second editor warning me? Valereee (talk) 17:52, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion

Information icon Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. Jack Sebastian (talk) 17:42, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Seen. Valereee (talk) 17:48, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Per that discussion, if you'd like to continue to discuss whether I dodged a bullet or should have learned a lesson, I'm happy to continue to explain here rather than mucking up that noticeboard. Valereee (talk) 20:48, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, I'd rather not. By edit-warring against repeated requests to not do so, you trashed all of the AGF for you I automatically give each person I edit with. I've quickly learned that you react badly when corrected; let's just get through this topic and move on. I know full well what road you are on, and I know where it ends; I don't want to be anywhere near you when you self-destruct. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 03:04, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. Valereee (talk) 13:49, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I hope I am invited to the self-destruction! I do so love an event. Cheers. Dumuzid (talk) 13:55, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dumuzid: ooh, me too. Nothing better than a good self-destruction on a Wednesday afternoon... I'll bring the popcorn.🍿  — Amakuru (talk) 17:19, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Caviar and champagne, please. After all it's my self-destruction. PJ Casual attire, though, I'm not a complete...um, ass clown. Valereee (talk) 17:27, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm thinking a plane crash into a train wreck that roll[s] into a dumpster fire?[1] Valereee (talk) 14:05, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In all fairness, you likely aren't as much of an ass clown as Herschel Walker. I had the night to sleep on my comments, and think they were a bit unfair. I think I was reacting to how you immediately went to edit-warring out of impatience; one of the three warning signs that I've learned to look out for with contentiious editors. I was pissed, as you had seemed so reasonable and polite up to that point. Anyhoo, it was a harsh assessment of you, and I'm sorry. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 15:09, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Jack, a sincere thanks for this. I would just like to humbly suggest that where there is a good faith and reasonable BLP claim, it really is best to err on the side of caution. That said, all the best and have a nice day. Cheers. Dumuzid (talk) 15:34, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Jack Sebastian lol...likely not as much of an ass clown? Okay, Jack, um, thanks, I guess.
I wasn't being impatient. Potential BLP violations are very serious, they're one of the only reasons we allow people to break 3RR. You can disagree that this is a BLP vio, but until we have consensus it is not, the content should be removed. It's not "impatient" not to wait for consensus to develop in such a case. It's actual policy to do so. I have made such edits before, and I'd do it again, because we do not leave in articles content we believe is -- or even may be -- a BLP vio.
I think you are misunderstanding the importance of BLP. As I said above, I'm willing to explain further why my not being blocked for violating 3RR didn't result in a block. It's because the violation was defensible and I'd claimed it in the edit summary. It wasn't a ruse; I still believe including her name is a BLP vio. If consensus goes against me on that, I can move on. But until it does, I would remove* that content again. Valereee (talk) 15:42, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
* Well, maybe not in this case since the page was protected while I was at ANEW and I wouldn't make that edit through protection in such a case, but I'd certainly ping another admin to the page. Valereee (talk) 15:44, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In fairness, "you likely aren't as much of an ass clown as Herschel Walker" is a standard Wikipedia apology. Levivich (talk) 16:18, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
WP:YLAAMOAACAHW totally needs to go blue. Green at least. Valereee (talk) 16:25, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nah that'd be like, Past consensus[1] has reliably determined[2] (but see RfC[3]) that it is only occasionally[4] not the case that you are not as much... -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 01:02, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I so wish those weren't fake citations. Valereee (talk) 01:06, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That reminds me of a standard Wikipedia endorsement: "probably not corrupt" 😂 Levivich (talk) 01:18, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Levivich: And you wouldn't believe what that endorsement cost me! /s -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 06:53, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Tamzin, overheard on the phone last month: "Yeah, hi, it's me again. So how much for 'would make a great arbitrator'? ... Wow. Really, that much? ... Yeahyeahyeah, no, I understand, inflation has been a bear lately... um, well how much for 'great integrity'? ... Oh, geez. Okay, how about just 'not corrupt' ... What about 'probably not corrupt'? ... Great, I'll take that one. ... Yes, I have my credit card here..." Levivich (talk) 16:50, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If I'd known my apology was going to attract all the fancypants muckety-mucks to the conversation, I would have worn metaphorical pants. Sorry for the spiritual nudity. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 20:25, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That's hilarious. I am so using that, though I only have aspirations at muckety-muckedness. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 22:39, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Can I steal that? Dumuzid (talk) 21:21, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Of course! Levivich (talk) 21:22, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would fancy myself a fancy-pants muckraker. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 21:26, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If I'd known my talk page stalkers were fancypants muckety-mucks, I'd've gotten a lot more aggressive before now. Valereee (talk) 21:32, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
you're welcome. It's my holiday gift to you. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 22:39, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

prep set building

December songs

Thank you for the brilliant advice for building prep sets that I just saw, User talk:Epicgenius. Only when I read "Yoninah" did I notice the 2020 date, - it's still fresh, and better late thanks than never! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:54, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the kind words, Gerda! Valereee (talk) 18:30, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Today was a day rich in music, with two new pictures, and also rich in WP:QAI contributions on the Main page: the TFA, 2 DYK and 2 RD with members as principal editors. The church pictured there (not by me, nice snow dust and tall evergreen) comes with memories, detailed on my talk. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:22, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

I just wanted to thank you for all the time and effort you have spent on this: Wikipedia_talk:Verifiability#BURDEN_and_the_removal_of_tagged_content.

(I was exasperated by the deletes[1] to the Popeye (film) article.)

Anyway thank you again so much for having the patience to even try and go through all that. To borrow a phrase "I'd rather chew my own arm off." It is exhausting to even read the half of it. Thanks from one of the lurkers. -- 109.77.200.112 (talk) 05:27, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
