Famous people

Hi. How are these people famous? There is no article about either of them and no external sources. Thx. El_C 10:29, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and you're adding that same person who has no article as link to many other city articles — that's not right. Also, you're adding red-linked (non-articles, articles-yet-to-be=written) Ukraine-related links to articles which either need an explanation (Civil Code), or simply ones that are too broad to have links to country-specific ones (in the See also, having hundreds of entries for every country). Sorry. Thx. El_C 10:33, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
At this point, it seems you are systemically promoting this individual. Please cease this activity; it is not permitted. Thanks again. El_C 10:42, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you keep adding that person to articles you will be restricted from making further edits. El_C 12:55, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Civil Code of Ukraine

A tag has been placed on Civil Code of Ukraine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. AfD nomination of Budget Code of Ukraine

I have nominated Budget Code of Ukraine, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Budget Code of Ukraine. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 09:30, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bililivka

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Bililivka, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Bililivka.

Conflict of interest warning

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. Fram (talk) 12:41, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have opened a section on your COI at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard. You are free to join the discussion there (though not to remove the entry). Fram (talk) 15:10, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Olsha Law Firm

An editor has nominated Olsha Law Firm, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Olsha Law Firm and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:00, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If an article is deleted after a discussion, as happend with Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Olsha Law Firm, you should obviously not recreate it with a different name, like you did with OLSHA. Thanks for uploading Image:Nikolay Ivanovich Dzubenko professor,Vavilov Institute.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 10:35, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Olaffpomona, any reason why the flag of Ukraine article should contain the flag of Dalmatia infobox? Yes, the flags are nearly identical, but

  • multiple Infoboxes crowd the page;
  • there seems to be no historically relevant connection between the flags, so it seems sufficient to mention Dalmatia under "See also" and perhaps note the similarity at some point in the article.

I've got no big stake in this issue except for the readability of the article (I'm guessing, though not sure, that there may be an official Wikipedia guideline on the use of infoboxes that supports my action). Also, since you reverted my edit I'm curious to know why you found it important to do so. Thanks. Miranche (talk) 00:07, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply! If what you say is the case, there may really be a historical connection between the flags of Ukraine and Dalmatia. The problem is, right now the flag of Ukraine article doesn't mention it even in passing -- your reply to me is the only information I have about this. Could you add this info to the article? It would be good (though not immediately necessary) for it to be sourced -- for example, if you could find a link to a newspaper article where a historian speculates on the connection. Otherwise the Dalmatian infobox just hangs there without any discernible reason. Miranche (talk)

WikiProject Economics census

Hello there. Sorry to bother you, but you are (titularly at least) a member of WP:WikiProject Economics, as defined by this category. If you don't know me, I'm a Wikipedia administrator, but an unqualified economist. I enjoy writing about economics, but I'm not very good at it, which is why I would like to support in any way I can the strong body of economists here on Wikipedia. I'm only bothering you because you are probably one of them. Together, I'd like us to establish the future direction of WikiProject Economics, but first, we need to know who we've got to help.

Whatever your area of expertise or level of qualification, if you're interested in helping with the WikiProject (even if only as part of a larger commitment to this wonderful online encyclopedia of ours), would you mind adding your signature to this page? It only takes a second. Thank you.

Message delivered on behalf of User:Jarry1250 by LivingBot.

You added a link to the page at South Ossetia. However, on the page, it says he was born and lived in North Ossetia. Can you please explain why he should be listed at South Ossetia? As a separate matter, it is better to made such additions in prose form instead of lists. --Xeeron (talk) 12:00, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please merge your accounts in all Wikipedias

Hi,

I have noticed that you are using accounts Olaffpomona in different Wikipedias but you have not merged them into a global account yet. Global accounts become mandatory since 15 April 2015, and all non-merged accounts will be renamed.

As of now, most likely you have accounts Olaffpomona in other projects, notably in Ukrainian Wikipedia, which are not merged with your global account. Please click on Special:MergeAccount and finish the unification process. You can check the state of your account unification at Special:CentralAuth/Olaffpomona

If you don't merge your accounts by 15 April, your accounts (in Wikipedias other than English) can be renamed.

If you have questions you can ask them on my talk page. Best regards — NickK (talk) 23:44, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:O.A.Dzubenko b.04.06.1961 Simferopol.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:O.A.Dzubenko b.04.06.1961 Simferopol.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Randykitty (talk) 12:20, 17 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Nikolay Dzubenko professor.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused file, out of scope on Commons, so should not be transferred.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
