Unable to complete

[edit]
  • Hi. I tried to complete this, but I don't use microsoft exploder because I don't use a microsoft operating system. Your site crashed my browser after completing one question so I didn't go any further. --AliceJMarkham (talk) 11:54, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Statustop template: alternate updating method

[edit]

SoxBot V has been taken offline indefinitely, therefore {{Statustop}} now uses a semi-manual updating method taking the status from Special:Mypage/Status. You can use the Qui monobook script written by TheDJ to update this page at the click of a button.

Certain parameters are no longer used, so you may wish to check the documentation of the Statustop template to ensure you are using it properly. Please feel free to drop by my talk page with any questions or concerns or to report problems with the template. Happy editing, xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 14:00, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry...

[edit]

Thank you for your invitation but I do not understand what you mean by "knowledge map" and I don't particularly care to explore the topic. I might have been interested in answering a half dozen or yes/no questions, but I don't have the time to write an essay. Best of luck! Vincent (talk) 15:28, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re:could you please do me a favor?

[edit]

I am not sure why exactly you need help with and since I revert vandalism quite a lot, keyword results from my edit will not be accurate as to what I truly edit. --Cahk (talk) 01:48, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Favor

[edit]

God, they're right, the Asians are smarter than everybody else :D. My goodness; half the people I know would've lost you at "knowledge evolution maps." I'm probably going to need something idiot-proof if I'm going to be of any help. I can tell you that in doing 18-dozen research papers this year, it made my life a lot easier. Almost every time I needed to find something, Wikipedia had easy to find, easy to use answers for me. It never ceases to amaze me how much info Wikipedia has. It nearly always pops up near the top of the list on Google searches. It's concise and has an uncanny way of giving me exactly what I need. I think it's fantastic. Many people criticize it, saying anybody can wander on and write whatever they want but that's not really a big issue. Yeah you get the occasional childish person who thinks it's funny to write "PENIS!!!" in an article, but they're relatively rare and usually reverted within minutes. It's actually pretty amazing how quickly vandalism is reverted. So I think Wikipedia has helped "make the world smarter" I guess you could say (that's how I translated "knowledge evolution maps." Some advice: if you're taking a poll, do your best to use layman's terms so your average Joe knows what you're talking about. I understand English may not be your first language but just try to keep that in mind.) Hopefully this helps. -- HurricaneERIC - Class of '08: XVII Maius MMVIII 05:19, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your test thingy

[edit]

It doesn't handle special characters well at all. For example, Raven-Symoné discography loaded the non-existent Raven-Symon. --Geniac (talk) 15:40, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I completed it just fine by guessing the rest of the partial article titles, though I couldn't figure out the point of the whole exercise. --Geniac (talk) 13:02, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Candidate Categories

[edit]

I have started the test. Your instructions say to check the box for the appropriate categories. For my first article, one of the boxes has one category that is appropriate to the test article, but the other choices in that group are not appropriate. None of the choices in the other two sections are appropriate. Should I check the box for that group of categories with the one correct category or check None of the Above? Jllm06 (talk) 16:19, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just want to be clear that I understand. For my articles, there is one category, National Historic Landmark, that can be applied to many of the test articles. All of the other categories in that column are related to any of the chosen articles. Accordingly, all of my selections will show None of the Above for categories, even though there is one choice in that column that does work for several of the articles. Should I check None of the Above or the column that contains National Historic Landmark? Jllm06 (talk) 18:35, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

it broke

[edit]

It went like [1] don't know if you can view that but no test article was visible. I use firefox but remember a lot of people do. Another problem with the test is that the candidate articles are often already listed in the example category, so it's already clear which answer to put. Sticky Parkin 14:49, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

it won't stop

[edit]

Hello! I ran through 30 items at http://140.114.134.208/thesis/pretest/pretest.php?username=Rewinn&id=32 but as you can see, it is continuing past item 30. Items 31+ are blank, so I am unclear how to categorize - "None Of The Above" seems closest ;-) I just stopped at item 34. Also, some of the categories seemed not to group well, e.g. the one that included Signing_statement_(United_States) and Vancouver_Expedition. However I expect any new scientific exploration to have bugs, and I wish you luck! rewinn (talk) 21:29, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Completed pretest

[edit]

Finally completed it - apologies for the wait, I am back home now but was living somewhere until yesterday where the computer would not install Java for some odd reason. Orderinchaos 10:51, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks :) I completed it just then. Orderinchaos 10:47, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just answered your two questions on my talk page. Fmccown (talk) 19:42, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
